Mathieu Debuchy In Newcastle – Discussing Terms

News today that Mathieu Debuchy has arrived on Tyneside as the next step is getting the French international right back to sign for Newcastle United, and he is expected to attend the Newcastle’s tough  game against Everton tonight.

mathieu debuchy in france blue

This was first reported last Sunday night after terms – thought to €7M – which is around  £5.6M – had finally been agreed between Newcastle and Lille after much haggling over the summer when a fee could not be agreed. We also think this deal could have been made several weeks ago as it was clear Newcastle had to bring in reinforcements in January.

There are reports there is still much to be done to have the transfer be complete, but his terms were agreed last summer, and we don’t expect there to be any problems in that area, with Newcastle more than doubling Mathieu’s wages.

There will need to be a medical completed but we don’t expect this to take too long, and hopefully Newcastle could even announce the signing tomorrow, and it will be a terrific one for the Magpies, as this lad can make a big difference in our back four – and his physical style seems perfect for the Premier League.

This seems a great signing for Newcastle, although we should have completed the deal in  August – but better late than never. 😀

Is he actually here or is just rampant speculation again? Lets not have another barnetta debacle 😉

He agreed terms in the summer so surely it is just a formality? Re-checking everything is the same as before?

Id like to see him paraded before the fans in a toon shirt before the game. That could give the players and squad that much needed boost.

I love how sceptical we have all become haha i like others want that picture just so its all confirmed. The Barnetta cupboard is full not sure we can fit many more players in.

There is no reason he couldn’t have a medical this morning, sign the Contract this afternoon and be wearing the shirt at the match tonight!!

Just get it sorted and then get the next one read to close.

@ Lee Dodd – Carroll has a house just off the A69. He’s probably just popped back to stick a shilling in the gas meter!

Ed’s not actually giving any evidence or proof. He’ll probably end up introducing Batman, Robin and the Batcopter in his next discussion topic.

If Taylor and Collo could stay fit for the rest of the season we really wouldn’t need another CB.

Priority should be the inevitable replacement for Ba. Last time we sold our best striker there was no replacement until the summer. That can’t happen again.

I also think we need a good winger in to improve our options there. HBA is great but after that they’re all pretty useless.

rainrix .. yep but we need a RB .. nevermind centre back ..imagine santon and debuchy bombing down the wings .. although we do need a CB since our defence will be much more attacking ..

Why do our transfers always seem to take forever.
Other clubs seem to manage to have players signed in hours while NUFC take days and weeks even.

I can see that happening. Similar to Jelavic at Everton when he signed then came on the pitch to greet the fans the same day. Fingers crossed.

The lad is a super player and is a massive improvement in what we have, deal should have been done in the summer mind, lets hope he stays injury free.

Just our luck if he signs and then is out for 2 months.

Dont know why but fancy us for a win tonight, think Pardew may go 442 as Everton play that way, would drop Ba mind you.

    Krul
    Perch Willo Collo Santon
    Anita Bigi Tiote Obertoon
    Marv Cisse

Give Marv a roaming role, Everton will most likely play Fellaini off Jelavic, so will basically have 5 in midfied at times, if we play Ba and Cisse we will be outnumbered yet again.

Perch and Anita should cope with Baines and Pienaar hopefully, get Marv in behind Baines when he bombs on, slips some nice balls through to Papa and Bobs your uncle.

Really hope the fans behave today.
What’s wor Mathieu going to think if we boo Demba or boo if we concede, or have 20000 fans walk out early etc. doesn’t paint a good picture.

Behave people! We need double dreamboat!!

JDdubai, no1 cares if your teams made up of enlishmen anymore. Local players are always a bonus but if a player comes from Cornwall or Australia it makes no difference.

The lack of English players isn’t a problem for me.
Simple fact is, most of them are not good enough (hence the England team is terrible) and the ones that are good are ridiculously over priced.

Besides, they’re all adopted Geordies anyway in our team.

    check

With Pardew finally conceding publicly that Cisse and Ba do not work as a 2, I may kill someone if he starts with a 442 with Ba & Cisse.

Personally I think we’ll stick with the 433. I appear to be the only person who doesn’t mind having Cisse out wide. His wing play is fairly good, and he’s always going to pop up with a goal here and there. The Barcelona philosophy is to get your best players on the pitch and do everything to accommodate that.

I think we’ll stick 433 as I don’t think Pienar and Baines are playing.

    Krul
    Perch Willo collo santon
    Marveaux Anita tiote
    Cisse ba squidward.

Marveaux playing the CAM and Anita linking between tiote and the attack.

Squidward has played well for the last few games, and before his injury aswell.

Agree that you would think all the paperwork and terms were sorted out with the Medical the only outstanding. I would think with Simpson out if there is any chance of pushing this through we should stick him in tonight

Hotdog Debuchy has no chance of playing in tonights game even if he was signed now he needs a playing certificate of some sort which apparently takes days to issue.
