Newcastle Now Interested In Nigerian International Striker

There’s report in the Sun this morning, that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is interested in West Brom and Nigerian International striker Peter Odemwingie, in case Demba Ba leaves in the January transfer window, which may happen, given the number of clubs that have expressed an interest in the Senegal striker.

Peter Odemwingie – I hear Newcastle calling

It’s not the first time Newcastle have been linked with the striker, but at 31, he’s the same age as our Nigerian striker Shola Ameobi, and Peter hardly fits the profile of players Newcastle will want to sign in January, and we have a hard job believing the report is true – but maybe it is.

The Sun is reporting that talks are ongoing with West Brom about the striker, who we’ve never really rated very highly, but he’s a very good player on his day, but tends to be hot and cold, and a little inconsistent in his form.

But it seems that West Brom may be willing to sell the Nigerian, who joined West Brom in 2010 from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow, and before that he played at Lille with both Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy.

Odemwinge has a decent record at West Brom having appeared 73 times for them with 30 goals, and this season, while he’s only appeared nine times, he’s still managed to score four goals.

And he’s certainly a skillful player who can play as an out and out striker or on one of the wings, so he would fit into Newcastle’s style of play fairly easily.

Peter has played for Nigeria 55 times with 9 goals, but has not been included in Nigeria’s squad for the African Cup of Nations, which will start in South Africa later this month.

Beefman,I think pantomime maybe a little too sophisticated for your tastes,I can see you more sitting on a beach, whooping ,cheering and dribbling onto your string vest as Punch knocks seven bells out of poor Judy.

This shows the hysteria of the window is now in full swing.

It is a single paragraph in the sun that’s now trending and being posted on the blog.

I wish I was paid to make up shit and sit idly by as people get swept up in the madness of lazy journalism.

I refuse to talk about Odenwinge as there is more chance of my cock signing as the new CF than this 31 year old, only half decent for one season big star wanna be.

he’s shite. “Big” fish in a small bond there in West Brom. Shane Long makes him expendable. And Peter is 31, don’t see this happening.

Also my cock signing as the new CF would be good for us.

He’s big and strong, attacks with pace, is good with his head and great with the ball at his feet.

Only problem is he goes down a bit too easy and spits more than el hadji diouf.

Man it’s a quiet day on the blog today. Resorting to discussing paper talk on players who would never be in our plans.

Come on Remy….time to fly in, lad!

Beatties’ cock signs for the Toon.
Insiders at the Toon think the transfer will stiffen up the forward line and that “the cock” has the balls to try shots from all angles.

Behave. Why would he swap a push for Europe for a relegation battle with you??

It should also be noted that if we choose to sell (he is under contract, and we don’t need the money) then you will pay top dollar. Our Chairman is noted for it. He extrracted £7M+ for each of Koumas, Kamara and Curtis Davies. If you want to pay that kind of money for a guy who sits on our bench, then I’ll drive him to you myself.

    Good luck in the Championship.

    Hey minstrel,

Aren’t you lot due a ‘boing’ in coming seasons, so maybe you should keep your winding up to yourself until you establish yourselves as a PL club. I think that’s 3 seasons you have stayed up now so it seems due, but don’t worry we’ll maybe go after Long for half his price when you lot inevitably drop!

    But cheers for the post!

    Kruel to be kind,

I seem to remember that the last year we were in the Champ was the same as you, indeed we were both relegated in the same season. On this years form you will be there before we are.
