Debuchy Undergoing Medical – Signing Very Close

Mathieu Debuchy is said to be undergoing a medical at St. James’ Park, and he was sighted last night in the Milburn stand, and he seemed happy enough that his dream move was about to happen.

Mathieu Debuchy – shakes hands with young fan last night

We must say that this could be a terrific signing for Newcastle and offsets just a little bit, the disappointing news that Demba Ba has followed the money to Chelsea, and the Senegal striker is said to be undergoing a medical at the Stamford Bridge club, and that could stretch past today, as Chelsea check out that knee of his.

Terms were quickly agreed with Debuchy yesterday, which was not surprising because the move was all set to happen in August and terms at that time had been agreed, but Newcastle and Lille could not agree a price.

That was resolved this time around, and it’s really good news that Debuchy should soon be arriving on Tyneside, and it looks like he’ll make his debut a week on Saturday at Norwich – and maybe we could even get a win in that game – we need one.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Debuchy has indeed passed his medical but we’ll wait for the official news from Newcastle, which should be out in a little while.

All this ‘Ba has gone to Chelsea for money’ stuff is a bit patheic.

    a) It’s a job. I’d go anywhere if they doubled my wages.

    b) He’s gone to the European Champions, who are guaranteed to be challenging for trophies every single year. He gets to play with players like Torres, Terry, Cole, Luiz, Mata and Hazard, and under some of the best managers/coaches in the game.

I am looking forward to hear from the silver supremo why Debuchy cannot play in the weekend – all they need to do is register him before noon tomorrow.

    …why wouldn’t they do that?

I think Pardew got it right with HBA last season. It made him realise that he couldn’t just walk into the team and its made him a better player because of it. Even HBA himself has said that.

But forget last season, we are in trouble as it stands and are in a relegation battle. We could go down, nobody is too good to go down.
It happened in 2009 and it could happen again. I do think we’ll stay up if we bring in the required quality this month but if we don’t I worry for us. This team definitely cares more than the one in 2009 did though. They just don’t look like they have the belief to win matches which is even more worrying.

We need atleast 4 players since Ba has departed. Debuchy now looking likely to be the 1st through the door. This needs to be followed up by a CB ( Sakho/M’Biwa/Alderweireld/Douglas), A CM (Sissoko/Diame)
    and a CF ( Remy/Aubameyang).

I don’t want us to mess around with negotiations either. Obviously we can’t be too desperate because the fee will rocket up but it’s vital we bring in the players for these positions.

Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy has completed his £5.5million move to Newcastle.
The France international, who watched the home defeat to Everton, has passed his medical but he is not available to play in the FA Cup third round at Brighton on Saturday

People are bitter over his departure. Had he moved to QPR I would’ve said the same. But Chelsea is a step up from us. I wish him all the best and thank him for his time here and the service he has done to us.
We certainly will miss him if Cisse doesn’t start scoring.

Ok so.. Debuchy in! Good signing…

Now the following Pardew, Ashley and Lambarse:

Central Defender (maybe 2 at a push)
    STRIKER – pacy
Traditional winger (someone who can cross the ball)

And in training please work on the following:

Set pieces (lets score off one corner please..)
    Defender
    Movement
    Fitness
    Attacking
    Passing (especially Tiote)

OK, I’m going to come out and say it.

A lot of you seriously overrate our players.

Krul, Santon, Coloccini, Tiote, Cabaye.. they’re good, yes, but they’re not the world class superstars that some of you make out. Else they would not be at Newcastle.

We’ve got a couple one truly wonderful player in our squad, and that’s Hatem. I feel like Cisse, Cabaye and Anita could get there if they played in a style that suits them – see Anita’s performances in the last 5 or 6 games.

Pardew’s been poor this season, yes, but so have the players – most of them have done absolutely nothing to justify the hype you give them.

We shouldn’t get down on Ba… The contract was probably the only way to sign him and we got 29 goals from him for free…

He wants to play at a bigger club with big wages so fair enough.

What would you all do if you were offered double salary for your job?!?!

It’s not about loyalty! It’s about the modern world – money!

I wonder if Milan will be fined because of it? Probably not because it’s a friendly but I’m sure I’ve heard something along the lines of that if players walk off the pitch.
It’s absolutely disgraceful how these incidents continue to happen.

What worries me is that everyone seems to be pinning their hope on Saylor and Cabaye coming back, but for me they were poor before they were injured?

No doubt that’ll be Pardew’s fault as well

When a player is fines more for revealing a sponsor than a national side for racially abusing players, something is very wrong with the way the game is being run

Debuchy will be fantastic for us, a RB who can do what Santon does down the left, casues a threat going forward and makes the oppostions full back and winger have to work hard defensively. His crossing isn’t bad either, he can hit a ball into the box, he can beat a man when one on one and he can tackle. Defensively he knows his position and has a bit of pace. He knows when to stand off and when to dive in.
How long has it been since we had a RB who could do that?
That one season we had out of Beye possibly?

I don’t want debuchy playing at the weekend in the cup. I’d far rather save him for the next league match once he’s had time to settle.

We “should” have enough quality without risking him to get past Brighton.

Demba hasn’t gone for money in my opinion. I swear I read that newcastle offered atleast 50k and he has been offered 70k by chelsea but if he was that cash motivated he would of signed our deal ages ago. He has left to prove him self against the best. He apparently got offered 50k to stay in the championship with west ham and instead become a freeagent and signed for us on 35k. Thank you for your goals demba and good luck

    @34 GONUFC

why dont you also jump on the band wagon and blame williamson, whilst your at it as he seems to be the scapegoat for most of the useless fans. I was at the game last night and as far as im aware, Everton hoofed the ball to Fellaini just as much as we did. Some of our players, i.e Anita and Marveaux actually tried to play it on the deck, but what you will find is when the likes of Ben Arfa and Cabaye come back we will start to play on the floor again, no im not making injury excuses but stop posting the same sh** week in week out about how we hoof the ball we have too many injuries just get on with it ffs

    1. off:

williamson must be sold…ASAP..i cant watch this guy anymore..he cost us over 10 points this season..sell him now..seriously..

pardew out..good man, but nufc is too big for him…his tactis, subs, etc..simply horrible decisions.. he defends against poor teams..goes all out attack against top teams.. takes HBA off (cos hes not ready to play full much, yet is the most active on the pitch) instead to tell him to just wait up front for usefull balls, YET keeps shola on for 90 minuts, when hes already out of breath after 20 minutes.. always plays jonas, whos only good at running & falling down in front of oppostions penalty area.. & pardew finds an excusse after every match.. im tired of him.. give him job as a psychologist or sth, but get a MANAGER IN FFS..

shola playing for 90 minutes is a joke.. ok guy..good as a sub..but…ah..no comment..

get a quality CB in & then follow steps above

Again another case of jumping on the band wagon, keep a manager when hes down but lick his arse when where riding high. Ferguson nearly got sacked from Man Utd but they stuck with him and boy what do you know they shit on everyone these days, Sacking Pardew is not the answer and Yes Williamson isnt the best defender we have had but he still tries to do a job, he only does what is asked of him and everyone is quick to rip him apart when he plays bad but when he does have decent games no one gives him credit.
