Goalkeeper Rob Elliot gets his first start since September for today’s FA Cup with Brighton and Hove Albion which kicks off in a few minutes time.
And Alan Pardew has included youngsters James Tavernier, Gael Bigirimana, Sammy Ameobi and Mehdi Abeid in the starting line up today, and Adam Campbell and Paul Dummett are on the bench..
It would be great to get the win today, but it’s a fairly inexperienced side the manager had turned out today.
Shola captains the side.

Comment #602We were poo, but no Coloccini, Ben Arfa, Krul, Cisse, Cabaye, Jonas, Both Taylors, Simpson, Gosling, Tiote, Vuckic and new signing Debuchy. 13 players missing Sammy was the only one that turned up, Marveaux, Santon, Krul and Anita are the only good players in the 18, Bigirimana and Campbell have potentional. We need at least a centre back, striker and Midfielder. Which I would like Sissoko, Remy and Alderwield. Then we will climb the table

Comment #603Players play as a team through playing together, these guys havent had that. It creates a team of individuals. Its partly to be expected but its something Pardew needs to work on. Forget tactics, these youngsters just arent playing for the team.

Comment #605@Kets. You honestly thought Anita was poor? What game were you watching. Anita and Bigi were our best players, Dummet looked ok but didn’t see anything from anyone else.

Comment #606A shocker really. Very disappointing to see that squad players are not showing more effort when given the chance.
I doubt if players like Sammy, Tavernier, Abeid and Ranger will ever make it – I suggest to offer them to some Championship clubs on loan to mature. It seems to me that they are happy just to be in wearing the shirt, they are nowhere good enough to carry it in my opinon.
And again… Shola and Williamson. My god, those should be sold asap. Nowhere close to good enough!

Comment #607No more excuse for AP any longer our squads are limited due to injury. We could not even get ball possession. I swear if you send me in the pitch I can absolutely deliver far better performance.
We must SACK AP immediately. He is ruining team’s spirit. He has poor management and unable to boost player’s abilities. The only reason he is staying is a puppet of MA. No argument and Just YES boss.
Trust me now Debuchy is thinking if he just made wrong decision moving to AP team. No future.

Comment #608idk what to say when i watch us idk if i can just throw the blame on Pards as easy as some do because these reserve players we have and not to mention some in the starting XI are truely piss players (Willo is the foam of the piss)… I mean i watch these games and simply say to myself what the hell do these guys do in training? I mean come on there is only so much a manger can do for ones game the lads have to take it upon themselves to smarten up and play some good footy and have pride to stop this dreaded form we are in.. I wouldnt give Pardew the sack quite yet lets see how we perform till the end of month and with a few key players coming back but am getting a bit worried… Is it me or do i see that we have some good individual players that im sure plenty of teams would love to have but cant quite get on same page..Is it due to lack of chemistry due to injuries or is it Pards fault really? Idk if we do stay up and manage to keep are stars over the summer and i understand ashley is a tw@t with the finances but doesnt our current team have any appeal to a manager with some class out there? come on lads lets all hope for the the best HWTL!!

If I was a fringe player and Id got my chance to play I would be playing my ass of to try and prove Im good enough. Id be chasing down every ball, making runs, giving 110% in everything. Does anyone think any players on the pitch did that today? Anyone?
Tactics and formation are down to Pardew, and he needs to review that, but effort and committment, thats all down to players. You say Pardew out, how about calling for these players heads instead?

Todays Lesson: How to boil an egg.
take one pan and fill with fresh water. Place egg in water. Now throw the pan as high as possible into the air, and see what happens.
This method can also be used to manage a football team (albeit very badly)

spot on mate thats what im saying forever now i mean that is such a coward thing to do by these players whether or not they agree with coaches tactics or play out of position play with heart ffs sorry no manager can give u heart only a chance to prove u have one and if u dont take it and show u have any than how is the manager to blame?

Comment #612Rotonda @ 593 Couldnt agree more.Managers like Pardew have no place in todays game with their prehistoric ideas and tactics.Look at other british managers of similar ilk like Curbishley and Bassett, aint had a job in a long time as far as i’m aware cos most clubs know they are well past their sell by date – just a shame MA and co cant see it
