Some top Newcastle players are on their way back from injury, and since our terrible streak of 9 losses in the last 11 league games, it’s probably a good thing that we only have three Premier League games this month and three next month – and that will give time for some of our players, like Steven Taylor and Yohan Cabaye, to get back into the side.
Dan Gosling – back in a month from his knee injury
And more good news today that Dan Gosling, who has been out with a knee injury since last October, could be returning in about four weeks – according to Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.
This is what Alan said in the local press today:
“Dan is starting to run around and I don’t think he is too far away.” “Him and Cabaye are working together.” “He is behind Cabaye and Steven Taylor, but I would probably suggest three or four weeks for him. He had a terrible tackle that night.”
“Dan, Haris and Ryan Taylor are all players that would be playing now in the last four or five games, for sure.” “But that’s non-reported that our underbelly has been affected apart from Ben Arfa and Cabaye.”
Ryan Taylor has a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, and we don’t think we’ll see him back this season, and it would be much better to give the Liverpudlian extra recovery time – and then he’ll be fit and ready to go in pre-season.
Dan Gosling joined Newcastle from Everton suffering from an ACL injury, and since he arrived eighteen months ago, he’s hardly had good luck with injuries – but when he returns – he can help to get the job done for Newcastle, and get us up that league table.

Comment #41One player out and 3 players in this window is a definite success imo.
And two of those additions would be serious strengthening in an area where we’ve lacked for over a year now.
I’d scream if we got a CB and a striker, i’d go absolute mental.

Comment #43I’d take Ashley Williams in a heartbeat over any of the CB’s we’ve been linked with. Very solid player, good technically and fast and strong.

Comment #44Jail @26 – with the benefit of hindsight it looks like Ba is (off field) is a very clever/skillfull operator. Now looks as if he “played” Percy Parsnip to achieve his ambition. But its done now and we move on.
