Colorful AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has revealed his club is watching around 100 young players, but he has come out and said he particularly likes the look of Newcastle left back Davide Santon.
Davide Santon – AC MIlan very interested
Davide Santon is one of the few Newcastle players who is having a better season this term than he did last season, and he is really starting to come into his own on Tyneside.
The 22 year-old joined Newcastle from Inter-Milan in August of 2011, and he immediately impressed the Newcastle fans with his knowledge of the club, and his view that Newcastle were a big club with a great history.
The former Italian Prime Minister, who is threatening to run again for the post, says he’s following the progress of the Italian International at Newcastle, as he told Sportmediaset:
“We are following about 100 young players. Roma’s Mattia Destro and Davide Santon – I like them both.”
Davide is the only Newcastle player who is an ever present in the league this season, and over the summer Roma expressed an interest in the youngster, but were turned away when they made an initial inquiry to Newcastle.
Every player at Newcastle has their price of course, but we don’t think Newcastle will be wanting to sell this player anytime soon, and his value has at the very least doubled since he joined us from Inter-Milan for £5M.
But we should still probably expect some bids coming in for the Italian youngster in the summer.
What do you think?

Comment #2Berlusconi has the cash and as Chairman he actually spends it on players.
Take note Ashley.
When you own a football club you have to BUY players.

Comment #10I am, Santon’s been a revelation this season. His performances have deteriorated in the last few matches, but overall, he’s been our star player.

Comment #36Doing a Harry Redknapp I see. Talking about other teams players as possible future targets just to unsettle them. Now they will be story’s in the press about this until Santon comes out and says he does or doesn’t want to leave. Even if he says he is happy he will still be linked away. Should be rules by fifa against things like this, it’s like tapping up >:(

Comment #37Of the 100 young ‘players’ Berlusconni’s having watched, I’ll bet that Mattia Destro and Davide Santon are the only two blokes – the other 98 being pretty young ‘ladies’ to provide the entertainment at his bunga bunga parties!
