Aklan Pardew had some good news about Ben Arfa, and it turns out he is finishing off his rehabilitation at the French Football Federation’s Clairefontaine Academy, which is close to Paris.
Ben Arfa – back soon
And the good news about Ben Arfa is that he is running again in his training, and will be back soon, but the Newcastle manager refused to put a timeline on the lad’s recovery.
Of course Ben Arfa was brought back from his hamstring strain too early at Fulham on 10th December, and although he was great and scored a terrific goal in that game, he obviously damaged the hamstring again, and so he’s going to be out another few weeks – and he’s already missed six games since the Fulham game – and we’ve lost five of them
This is what Alan Pardew said about the French magician:
“It’s better, we’ve had some good news.” “He’s running and we will only bring him back when his rehab is complete. We’re not talking many weeks.”
Hatem has played 14 times this season for Newcastle with three goals and three assists, and whenever he’s in the side, he offers a big threat to the opposing defense.
His total record in all competitions at Newcastle is played 48, scored 10 with 10 assists – and that’s a good record on Tyneside.

Cabs for me to be captain if colo does go think there are little options really
Jonas is vice captain but dont think he’d be influential enough to be captain, krul isnt vocal enough, tiote just no, taylor? Not good enough always injured bit of a hot head! Shola! 😉
If colo does leave i think its a bit premature to blame the manager! He’s always talked about his dad being a huge influence on his life and football and think if a chance has arisen to work with him he wants to take it, think its purely family reasons like
No doubt a few will have there pardew voodoo dolls out but for me i reckon this has little to do with him and more about colo wanting to go home

Comment #4I have heard that a press conference has been penciled in for middle of next week to announce the signing of multiple players. Heard info backing up what mick lowes said that a couple of deals are all but signed and there will be a statement to the press if not a full conference next week to show these 2 new lads…one meant to be a big name…sorry I have no more detail.
by the way all the blah blah..made up rubbish…useless people think they itk…only ashley and pardew know things…blah blah blah etc….don’t bother, this is for people who are interested.
I never guarantee anything, just pass on what I hear.

Comment #7@ Conaldo, I’m always a bit iffy about keepers being Captains. Always difficult to get a grip on the team from the back of the field.

Comment #10No wonder players jump ship so much. Reading the last thread the comments saying sell collo are ridiculous. How can u expect loyalty when u give none. U should be ashamed of urselves. A saint collo has been for this club.

Comment #11Something interesting about HBA, this season Wayne Routledge has played less minutes on the pitch, with less starts than HBA, they play the same position yet Routledge has double the goals, double the assists, more tackles and has given the ball away less. For me hatem disappoints, he flatters to deceive and its something hes dome throughout his career! He has all the talent in the world, he should be scoring 15 a season but his end product is bad! Ppl overlook it because when he scores they are amazing, but game to game he is not as much of an asset

Comment #13Some guy in the pub a few nights ago was banging on about that Turkish striker, who was in the bag allegedly (Melvut Erdinc). Frankly though that bloke was about as itk as the rest of us, and frankly I don’t think he was playing with a full deck.

nothing on colo…my friend is on the admin side…so helps arrange meetins, conferences, takes a few calls…so hear things like that, plus general rumour between staff…dont get much from the players and playing side of the club.

Comment #15M’vila would be available for 6m, reason for it is hes had a shocker of a season, got dropped to the youth team and reserves at one point! Rennes have decided theyd just be better off rid’ personally like him as a player, get his head straight and hes world class, rumoured QPR are in the lead for him

Comment #16Jay. Interesting that. What I would say is that Hatem has been isolated at times and has been on the periferal of games, which is not of his doing. If I was playing with him I would look to give him the ball as much as possible.

When I watch ben arfa I think he glides past people similar to messi and better, at least equal, to hazard.
He has a great shot, great vision, reads the game well in advance….yet somehow doesn’t exploit all of this.
He needs to be getting 15 goals and as many assists a season minimun really.
Maybe if he had his central role he is best suited to and a strong team and squad around him he would be better.
This season I have seen players just stop and watch, none of our lads were giving him many options early season and expected him to do something brilliant.

Comment #20Hate seeing transfer sage get stick, personally in my job you hear bits now and again, in my case its villa and stoke ( unfortunately ) and alot of times it doesnt happen for reasons! Example, last summer i actually saw yacine brahimi at bodymoor heath though he didnt sign for villa in the end!

Comment #21Colo cannot leave, unless we replace him its as blunt and as simple as that!
We have him on contract, he isnt playing as well as last season, but he is still our only decent defender. Even when STaylor is fit.
If he leaves we need a Alderweild, Douglas, Mbiwa to replace him, someone with experience, who will cost money. You cannot replace him with Williamson, or a player that costs a similar amount as he is one of the main reasons we concede goals. We need a proven international, experienced, strong minded player.
This is a disaster but simply put Colo, I am sorry but no you cannot leave for mere buttons. We need you now, more than ever! You can go either in the summer, or the year after when you are replaced until then whether you want to or not, we need you to stay.
Whether this is true, or not is another story. If it is, really it shows poor character to run away when a team who has paid so much for him, and too him need him most.
Would be shocked if he wants to leave for certain. Perhaps he expressed his desire to finish his career at the San Lorenzo, and its been taken and twisted.

Comment #22Pardew should be in government, better suited to being a polician than a football ball manager – spin doctor supreme
Delayed Deals, Players Back in Training, We have to get it Right, and then comes the end of the window – It just was not right for the Club, but we tried.
Sorry Pardew, have heard it all before. these returning players are like new signings – Job Done.

Comment #25I can’t blame Colo for wanting to leave if its true
He signed a new dlong term deal last year probably under the promises of a good summer of investment looking to move forward and continue to push for the top places, then in the summer we signed one first team player! Anita is looking to be a cracking buy at the minute but one player wasnt enough, especially when the defence was weak, we had only 3 senior strikers (one who was being touted around every transfer window) and we knew we were going to have a tough season with much more games with the Europa.
Debuchy in, now we need at the minimuim a striker and a centre back (2 if colo leaves).
Not looking forward to Feb 1st where Pardew will no doubt spout his usual rubbish about not being able to get anyone ‘over the line’ and haggling over a few hundred thousand, which could easily be made up with a good run and a higher finishing position. Not that he’s to blame, i bet he’s as frustrated as us at not being able to bring in the players we clearly need

Comment #26Transfer @4, an insider dropped a hint about who the big name might be:
told it’s a CB called Kananinoheaokuuhomeopuukaimanaalohilo who’s currently with Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu Utd, a New Zealand side.
Believe it when you see it though!

Comment #27Quote from SSN “The good news is we are taking Cabaye on the bus, which is like signing a new player,” said Pardew.
New signing right there lmao we did say that when the players are back it will be like a new signing and even pards agrees
