Sunderland Tipped To Beat Newcastle To Moussa Sissoko

12:57 am, Saturday, January 12th, 2013 by Ed Harrison · 21 Comments

It looks like Sunderland are close to signing a potential Newcastle target Moussa Sissoko, who has been made available by his club Toulouse at £3.5M.

Auxerre/Toulouse - L1 - 16.02.2008

Moussa Sissoko - Sunderland to land player next week?

It was thought that Newcastle could be going after the 5 times capped French International central defender, whose contract runs out in June, but news that Sunderland are now tipped to land the 6’2″ midfielder next week.

Toulouse have made their top player available in January, so they will not lose him for nothing on June 30th, when his contract is up at the French club.

Newcastle have been linked with lots of players in this January transfer window, and even more than in most windows, but it would appear from reports in France they are behind their local rivals in trying to sign the Frenchman, who has played more than 200 times for Toulouse since he made his debut in 2007.

I hope we get him, I want this CB but not Tomkins! Unless its Tomkins + A Colo equivalent.

    Dont buy it.

i think the time is right, that if no new faces come through the door- and by new faces i mean faces that can help save our season, then i firmly believe a boycott should be no1 priority. stop going , stop lining ashlys pockets – stop giving in to him.!

Yeah because that’s what the club needs at this time; for us to stop supporting them in their time of need.

    Genius.

Tomkins is not good enough for us. He’s a good backup player. We need someone of absolute quality in there.

it’s all you harp on. you dress it up in different manners but its aim is the same

i’m not happy with things either. I personally would love to see the back of both AP and MA, but it’s not gonna happen, not now. If not for the management or the board, the players need everything they can get right now.

    Embarrassin..

  • 9 mattyNUFC // Jan 12, 2013 at 1:21 AM

…and if he ends up at sunderland i’ll be livid

it would either be unprecedented lethargy or blatant negligence on the board’s part if we fail to get this calibre of player in the many positions we need this month

Apparently we have failed in our bid for Jereme Aliadiere. Why are we going for a 29 year old forward? Its strange. Its on SkySports.

    ilovetoon

‘Reports in France claimed Newcastle had seen an offer knocked back’
Remember Pardew said how hard he had to convince ashley to buy 27 year old debuchy…

Wouldn’t really be bothered if we didn’t sign him, I think there are other areas of our squad in greater need of strengthening. For some reason however I would absolutely hate it if he signed for them

ruddy from earlier post “” Now you may not have implied what you did but what you did write gave an awful lot of credence to that train of thought. You implied that Colo was deliberately choosing to leave now as to avoid being labelled as a ship jumper in the summer, how can one not infer that you claim this is due to football reasons, not the personal reasons he has stated.” again your perception. i didnt imply anything , you simply put your tilt on it!

@matty yeah m8 I too would. Really pissed especially for a mere 3.5 which Ffs I would rather pay than try gt him for free

Would be gutted if he went to the dark side. I know we are not in the market for a midfielder but this is an absolute bargin for someone of Sissoko’s quality. Would much prefer the report that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with us for the summer but still doesn’t stop him from talking to other clubs!

The Press are Brilliant . Shares In a Wooden Spoon Company Is the word !!!!! If Colo Is of then we need this guy !!!! Another week goes bye and who have signed . No Centre forwards No Midfield players and No Defenders. Europa cup coming up in 4 weeks time and a weakened squad . Well Done Mike Ashley Chq book shut as per normal. Aparantly They cant Get a Heady Duty Welder Strong Enough to Open It. The Debouchey Money was sent Via Russia !!!! and ashley Gets £2.5 Million In His account !!!

  • 19 Lee Dodd // Jan 12, 2013 at 11:25 AM

We got shot of Demba ba we got Debouchey so there is a Good £2 to £2.5 left from that sale so we get sissoko So really he has only cost £1.5 million + his wages. SIMPLES !!!!!

  • 20 SAFChris // Jan 12, 2013 at 12:43 PM

Of course he is stepping into the light and joining us! Why would he want to join the wonga army! Most of the rats have or are deserting, and Pardew will be sacked by the end of the season!
Yorkshire_Jawdee you are the darkside mate, you just dont realise it yet! But your players (explayers) are, and in greater numbers!!!

  • 21 SeanNufc87 // Jan 12, 2013 at 7:58 PM

@safchris your in the wrong place mate, this blog is for people who support a team with history and passion, fans who out sing every other in the league every week, that have a good stadium AND fill it week in week out. you want http://www.foreverinashadow.com

and btw Johnson is a life long toon fan, even your players support us, n I could be wrong but I think he was born in that dire pit Sunderland so make what you will . of that.
