Debuchy Adjusting To The Pace Of The Premier League

11:32 am, Sunday, January 13th, 2013 by Ed Harrison · 210 Comments

My son Neil and I talked about the Norwich game last night, when we were out to dinner, and we agreed that Mathieu Debuchy had a decent debut yesterday, not great, but that it will take him some time to adjust to the much faster pace of the Premier League.

debuchy norwich

Mathieu Debuchy in action yesterday

And Alan Pardew today has talked about how Mathieu found the English game much faster than in France:

“He found out that the Premier League is 30 mph faster than he’s used to. He got that after 10 minutes.” “We didn’t want him to be too expansive and that is probably his game – but he will have more freedom to go forward next week.”

So we should see Debuchy attacking down the right wing on Saturday,  when Newcastle will have to start the game against Norwich like the proverbial steam train, and hopefully get the first goal.

But we also have to be wary of Reading, who have now won two of their last three league games, and gained 5 points ion Newcastle in that time-frame, and yesterday they amazingly came back from 2-0 down to score goals in the 82nd, 88th and 90th minutes to beat West Brom 3-2.

It seems that West Brom have lost a lot of points late in games this season, and we’ll not even mention the injury time winner we got from a well worked goal from Sammy Ameobi and Papiss Cisse to get us that very lucky 2-1 win at St. James’ Park.

It’s going to be a tough game on Saturday,  and anything but a win will be hugely disappointing.

Simmo’s a good defensive RB but he’s a poor attacking RB. His distribution is too often panicky and aerial. He does give 100%.

We only paid 500k for him and his wages have been low.
Overall he’s given the club good value for money.

He’s often up against players worth 50 times his value.
In most sports a mismatch like this wouldn’t be allowed, but strangely we expect him to be perfect and 100% of the time.

Some new signings will really lift the mood amongst supporters. Hope we get some good players. Does anyone think it is not a good thing us signing too many frenchies??

    black and white

you think jonas raylor and perchy should be oosted out of the club.get real mate these are valuable squad players. and you honestly think we are going to bring in that many players. DREAM ON mate. 11 new players in?

  • 13 Black and White with an army lol // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:02 PM

why not? this could be part of Cashley 5 year plan, and regarding the 3 you mention where’s the quality in these players?

  • 14 Super Magpie // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:03 PM

A point wasn’t a bad result yesterday considering we got a clean sheet. It’s definitely something to build on as we should be winning the next 2 games. Remy needs to be brought in this week to give us another option because we were poor going forward yesterday and are missing Ba.

  • 15 Black and White with an army lol // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:04 PM

and also im not saying bring them in straight away im talking about 2-3 seasons

    black and white

those three have a lot of qualities to give the club as squad players. they might not be everyones kettle of fish but each fan has there own opinions. there are certain people who love ameobi. imo he has past it and should be gone a long time ago

  • 17 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:07 PM

10mill for Remy compared to 10mill for Tomkins.

Clearly there is something not right here…

Remy, sissoko, douglas,m’biwa, would lift any team in the world, I realy think we have 5-6 top players, 20-30 mill would take us to next level, any team in the world would have Ben Arfa now,he’s been a huge miss,I do Agree we need strength and power, pace in are team, hopefully are owner opens his wallet

  • 23 Puppet Pardew // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:25 PM

Hi Fans, the boss, Sir Lord Michael of Ashley to you, has just sent me a text in big block letters requesting I restate his spending policy as stated in Summer 2010 as he senses too much expectation. I’d sort of forgotten myself in all the recent panic and excitement, to be honest. But there’s going to be no new funds for capital spending, so what we bring in must be covered by what we sell.

So I rang him at home to ask how come we made a profit last year from transfers and where that money had gone? He called me a very, very rude name and told me never again to call him on a Sunday.

That means the only day I have left when I am allowed to call him is a Tuesday, before 12 noon but after 11:45 and never when there’s a ‘r’ in the month…

  • 24 Jail for Ashley // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:27 PM

It’s a crying shame we weren’t more ‘aggressive ‘ in the summer as the money being talked about would have had us pushing Spurs and Everton rather than fighting for survival.
Does anyone think that if we do manage to bring in a few more players we might take the EL more seriously than we did the FA cup ?

  • 25 proudtobageordie // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:27 PM

i see the fickle grammer police are on again

  • 26 TheSingingBit // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:30 PM

Black and White – a) You have missed out Tiote
    b) There is no way Cashley will buy that many players.

£10 million is a good price for Remy who is hitting the peak of his career. It would be ludacris if we dont try to sign Moussa Sissoko for £3.5 and Douglas for £4 million.
I think those 3 players would help us avoid relegation. At the moment its not looking good!

  • 27 rainrix // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:32 PM

I think shirt retiring is usually saved for when a player actually dies when wearing the shirt like that ac milan player? Who had a heart attack, that or someone whos made a groundbreaking impact at the club.

  • 28 seantoon // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:36 PM

If this colo rumour is true and he wants to go to San Lorenzo but there short of cash, I’m sure they’ll have some good young Argentina prospects on there books they could put in the deal. Anyone know of any

  • 29 Unbelievable Tekkers // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:38 PM

Thought he had a very solid game already an upgrade to simmo and give him a month or 2 and should start to see the best of him.

  • 30 seantoon // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:42 PM

I think I’d rather have iago aspas than remy and probably would end up cheaper wage wise

  • 31 ToonDownSouth // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:42 PM

    The fickle grammar police?

    a) Fickle? Do you know what that word means?

    b) It was spelling, not grammar.

    c) Was I taking the piss or having a go at you? No. I was just correcting you, since it’s the second time you’ve spelled his name incorrectly and I thought you should know.

  • 32 Spuggy // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:46 PM

This pards out claptrap is rediculous. How many managers have we had under MA?? Fickle fans want to start the merry go round again.

Pards isn’t a world class manager no, but he works hard and he’s still learning. most of all he’s our manager now, so if you claim to be a supporter then GET BEHIND HIM.

That goes for willo, simmo and even tiote. They’re our players.

That’s what being a true supporter means. In the summer, by all means voice your concerns to the board, to the manager – but not whilst we’re fighting for our PL lives.

  • 33 DarloGeordie // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:49 PM

Love people’s enthusiasm, optimism or obvious numbness in the brain but if we sign 26 signings this window we still have pardew as manager… Not going to win a bean lads, another 8 years of mederocacy if he sees out his contract!

Black and White with an army lol // Jan 13, 2013 at 11:52 AM

You seem to have overlooked the home grown player rule. Your list of ‘players out’ includes 7 home grown (willo, simpson, r-taylor, gosling, ranger, sh-ameobi & perch) which has left you with only 2 in your squad (Taylor and Campbell). You may need to re-think your transfer strategy!.

  • 35 DarloGeordie // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:51 PM

Apparently all is agreed regarding Loic Remy. All we are waiting for is Remy to make a decision. Wish he would hurry up and put us out of our misery….OUI or NON?

  • 37 Spuggy // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:53 PM

Mouse had bad seasons too – finished 17th in his early days. Of course he’s a rubbish manager and tactically inept.

I CAN NOT believe fans are calling for Parsees head. After the Keenan era, when is the last time you saw players as talented and exciting as HBA and Cabaye.

For those saying we don’t play exciting passing football – did you see the Manu game??????

  • 45 Spuggy // Jan 13, 2013 at 12:59 PM

World class -are you having a laugh??? We have maximum 3, maybe 4 world class players who are at the bottom of world class.

Colo, Cabaye, Tiote (in form), and HBA. Cisse and Debuchy are yet to prove themselves in the EPL.

That’s it. We are far from world class. But we are an emerging team still in transition.

BREAKING: Newcastle have signed Loïc Rémy from Marseille for a fee of £10.5m, subject to a medical.

    All over twitter now!

  • 50 nick_9 // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:06 PM

Joey Barton you devil you. Have to say I’m pretty sure we will be getting Remy now lads. I think Barton values us toon fans and wouldn’t wind us up so for me he has a good idea that Remy is coming. Obviously nothing is done until its finalised but we must be very close now, it’s a big sign similar to us keeping amoebi going to the acon because Ba was off.

I just hope fans aren’t expecting instant results from Debuchy and Remy if he comes, be patient with any signings we make. Remember Anita looked far to lightweight when he signed but he’s getting stuck in now. Remy is a 1 in 2 guy so let’s be patient if he comes and see what he’s got. Please don’t play a bog standard 4:4:2 Pards and please make sure we have funds for a cb

  • 51 Transfer Sage // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:07 PM

You can have as many or as few home grown players as you like in the squad. Could have none if you wanted.

The rule is that no more than 17 of the 25 in your squad can be non-homegrown.

So on theory could have 17 foreign players with no homegrown lads.

Would be pointless though as 17 is a small squad.

  • 52 Spuggy // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:09 PM

What remy does have which we are desperately short of is pace. I hope it’s true – I think we are lucky to get him considering where we are – same with debuchy. Probs cause he’s out of form and favour here’s hoping he can do it in the PL, and fast too.

Does anyone think perch is becoming a great DMF. He’s not a world beater, but a non nonsense keep the play simple tenacious player. Him and tiote could form a formidable partnership and allow Cabaye and Anita to push forward.

I think Anita would love feeding and playing of HBA little dinks and runs.

  • 56 Big Pappa Cissé // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:12 PM

So the Remy deal looks like it go through then. If we bring him and a Center back in we ould have this team when HBA gets back in February

  • 59 Pardews Parsnip Bonce // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:15 PM

@spuggy i was saying that yesterday. perch is definitely better than our off form tiote.

  • 60 nick_9 // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:16 PM

Spuggy we do indeed lack pace. We very rarely have any support on the counter, I imagine Remy would work well with Ben Arfa as both are capable of excellent counter plays.

It will be great to see Debuchy and santon tearing it up on either side when Debuchy settles. Once we have Ben Arfa back and cabaye fit we should look much better. I think at the minute our midfield five is hit and miss, with too many fringe players who don’t compliment each other.

  • 61 robin // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:17 PM

I was at the Blue Flames Gym next to the training ground and everybody was talking about it.

  • 62 Spuggy // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:20 PM

Signing a Lb would be a great idea as santon could be deployed on either wing or cover LB. Seen as we lack resilience on the wings that would provide great cover and options, even with remy coming. I suppose Raylor is the usual cover but has been out all season.

  • 63 gorgonzola ( former Pecorino former to gorgonzola) // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:22 PM

BPC – like the look of that team, I’m all for attack so I just hope tiote and co can help ou at the back if Debuchy and santon get forward. With that team though others should worry about us. Obertan and Marv would
Make good impact subs but we still wouldn’t have much choice upfront if it wasn’t working

So if remy does come where do you all think he will play?

I know he can be devoted out wide but his main position is up top where Cisse is. Can he do a job on the left. His YouTube clips suggest so lol

  • 71 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:32 PM

In perch’s first season at the club, I’d have been over the moon if he left the club… however since his rise from the ashes he has been an immense player for us. His ability to do a decent–>MoM performance in multiple positions is in no doubt an asset for us.

I remember him making up so much ground last night and belting the ball out of play. Had it not been for that interception we could have lost the game.

  • 72 Spreadthetoon // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:33 PM

Tomkins @ £10m is way over priced and English players are over hyped and too expensive IMO…

Btw interesting stats on Remy….a goal scoring machine ……yes, but a prolific assist maker he is not……surely we need someone on the wing who can pass and assist Cisse as well? Personally I think we should sign for 2 ST as we are short…..most clubs have 4……so why not Danny Wellbeck?….thoughts…

So if we are after 4 more signings this window I would go with:-
    Remy
Sissoko (definitely need a midfielder who can link up and feed the ball/ distribute directly to Cisse)
    Insimat-Mirin
    Sakho

In the summer I would arrange cover for RB, LB and ST additions…….if Collo goes then we NEED 3 CBs

  • 73 nick_9 // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:33 PM

Spuggy the ones I watched on YouTube show him doing a job on the right.

Anyone notice how Pards had asked Debuchy to not go forward as much? Can’t wait to see him at sjp

  • 74 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Jan 13, 2013 at 1:34 PM

I also have to agree that this season, Perch has outperformed Tiote.

Tiote is a better player, however Perch has been the one standing out more and putting in good performances.

To wet your appetities again below is extract from a player profile site re Remy:-
“Loic Remy: the true meaning of a speed demon, the pace this man has can destroy a back four within seconds! One through ball over the top of the defense and 9 times out of 10 if the ball is good Remy will get it. He isn’t weak as well; usually you see lots of quick players get barged off the ball but not Remy. His pace would certainly match the EPL
The most fascinating attribute with Remy is his heading. You rarely get a pacey forward that can header a ball so well, the jump that Remy can get is truly magnificent. A lot of his goals have actually come from headers. It really makes you wonder how a player can out jump a 6 foot 4 defender with a muscle build close to the Incredible Hulk (Exaggeration). Dont get me wrong hes not tiny, but his stature doesn’t make you think he can out jump some of the defenders in Ligue 1.”

The gamble is whether he regains his touch -if he does we’re in, big style . Well that is until Percy Parsnip tries to coach out his natural abilities.

  • 98 boater // Jan 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM

Kets – an honest question. How do we play all three of Sulejmani, Remy and Cisse in one team? Or do we pay £8-10m on their transfer and hope they don’t mind sitting on the bench as cover for the rest of the season? Same question for M’biwa, Alderwield and Colo/Taylor assuming their availability.

I would love to know how you think all these players will be happy swapping playing regularly for championship chasing teams for a place on the bench of a team just above the relegation zone.

Kets -It’s fine making a list of players you like. But you don’t seem to think at all about the practical issue of how they can all play and how they will react to being benched – within weeks of being signed!? We have just had a year of ball ache trying to fit two strikers into a certain system – now you want even more pieces of the jigsaw to try to fit together.

We will get one striker to replace Ba. And one to play with Colo – maybe two if he leaves. We cannot accommodate anymore midfielders without selling Tiote or Anita.

Falcao carries his team at times, whereas RVP has just joined a team who missed out on the PL on goal difference last season.

However, you could argue that RVP carried Arsenal last season in the way that Falcao has been with Atletico Madrid.

I’d say Falcao is the better player on paper – he has a much better goals/games record, and he’s replicated it in 3 different leagues. He also holds the record for goals in a European comp’ in a season.

Can’t see Stoke sellin up like, or perhaps Tom Huddlestone? I know he’s injury plagued but decent. Trying to think of reasonable priced players who may be available….not many good defenders out there to be honest! Surely Huddlestone would be worth a punt if he’s fit?

  • 167 Lilongwe Geordie // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:04 PM

    Malta Mag,

Nice little rant. I agree, Ashley has done good for NUFC, and saved us when we were teetering on the brink. He has also made some huge errors of judgement and miscalculations. Each fan is entitled to their own opinion though. I’m neither an Ashley hater, or lover, I take his decisions as they are and on there individual merits. He is by no means the best chairman in the world, but even in my short lifetime there have been worse at NUFC and at other clubs.

PArdew on the other hand is a tough one, respect for where we ended up last season, but he has to take some criticism for this seasons under performance. The youth should have progressed further, and that is a coaching issue. Tactics at times have been baffling. I will wait till the season finishes to pass judgement, but it is a fine line at the minute for him.

As for boycotting, I agree, it is crazy to boycott, and very few actually do. The team needs the support regardless of who is in charge.

Man Utd’s starting 11 isn’t great. It was fantastic when they had Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Stam all at their peak, but the only players that I’d take from Man Utd at the moment would be Van Persie, Valencia and maybe Evra. All the rest are poor/average players. I’d rather have Ben Arfa than Ashley Young and Cabaye than Cleverley. Carrick is useless, Anita is 10 times the player.

kets – anita 10 times the player of Carrick? Anita’s had how many good games? and Carricks been playing for how long in the prem? I’d personally prefer Man U’s entire back four, goalkeeper and strikers than what we have. nani, scholes, young, valencia, cleverley, carrick…hmmm, think only Cabaye and Ben Arfa would get in my team actually! strikers…would prefer Van Persie, Rooney, Welbeck to any of ours, unless we had the Papiss Cisse of last season that is. mad stuff…haha, each to their own though :)

  • 182 mattnufc // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:20 PM

Kets – most ill informed poster on the internet.

  • 183 Ketsbaia9 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:20 PM

Coloccini is better than Ferdinand and Vidic. Santon and Debuchy are betetr than Rafael and Evra. Ben Arfa is slightly better than Valencia.

Man Utd are overrated and nowhere near as good as they used to be.

  • 184 roblee7 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:21 PM

kets – and i can’t say anything about Debuchy or Remy getting anywhere near as never really seen them play yet!

  • 185 roblee7 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:22 PM

kets….your comments are absolutely off the scale mental

  • 186 roblee7 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:24 PM

kets – who was a better player….Silvio Maric or Zinedine Zidane?

  • 187 geordie157 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:24 PM

Kets i’m surprised you havent said Cisse is better than Van Persie

  • 188 Spreadthetoon // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:25 PM

    Kets
Personally I do not think Alan Pardew would have a big enough bin for your volume of listed players we should go for………..
IMO we need 6 players for the 1st team for competition and another 4 to ship out deadwood players……that the 10 players we’ll be signing between now and the new season…….so don’t bother with war n peace kets!
    Mattynufc
Remy is a lightening quick striker out and out. He can also play on the wing….think the right, which could free up HBA into a central role tucked behind Cisse. Remy does not have a high rate of assists which is a surprise………but would definitely be a welcome addition to the squad. I think we are desperate for another creative player be that a midfielder or another striker this window.

  • 189 roe997 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:26 PM

If remy can find his form.no doubt he will bring so much more to us than ba.hes a team player has all attibutes we are missing and willpass to cisse unlike ba.ba was only out for himself.

  • 190 Ketsbaia9 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:26 PM

We need to have more belief in our own players. The only department where Man Utd are better than us is in attack. They have better cover in the centre back positions. Mark Lawrenson’s right. All the big teams would want to sign lots of our players.

We need to replace Demba Ba. Remy isn’t a replacement. We needed 2 strikers even when Demba Ba was at the club. Benteke would be an ideal replacement for Ba.

  • 191 toonLYF // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:27 PM

    mattnufc…

Remy is somewhere in between a typical striker and a Ben Arfa-esque player. He likes to beat a man with a few chops or stepovers (moreso than Cisse or Ba), but his primary attributes i’d say, are his powerful driving aspects as a striker playing on the shoulder, making runs in behind/inbetween FB’s and CB’s… and of course his bullet headers.

  • 192 Joe Blog // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:27 PM

People still think Kets is a genuine poster?

I’ve got some air here, 1 litre for £100 – fantastic deal! Takers?

  • 193 geordie157 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:28 PM

Remy is a naturally more of a striker, but is comfortable on the right of a front three, i’ve heard he can play on the left too but havent seen him do that. Pacey, powerful and has a trick or two in his locker. Should be a great addition to the squad.

Still think a loan move for Scott Sinclair would be worth a shout, better than our options of Obertan and Sammy on the left.

  • 194 Marty-Toon // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:29 PM

    Roblee
Huddlestone as you say is injury prone so there’s no point even goin there….no good in havin a quality player in the squad that can’t play,we already have enough of them this season.
    It’s the same with Tayls.
I agree though that Van Aanholt would be decent as he’s not in Chelsea’s squad,he played well with us and would probably come if given the option of playing 1st team football
He’s in holland, surely we could try for him -:)

kets – good shout on Benteke, doubt villa would sell though, they’re screwed enough. I know marquee signings are now a thing of the past but if we could sign anyone who would it be? Personally, based on impact I’d go for Fellaini…I personally think he offers more to a team than any other player I can think of and will no doubt move to Chelski, Man U, etc soon

  • 196 roblee7 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:32 PM

I even think Fellaini would have more of an impact than Messi – I know that sounds like a Ketsbaia-type comment but we are so lacking in height its untrue

  • 197 Sinner // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:32 PM

    …………………………..Krul……………………………
    Debuchy………Saylor………Colo……Santon
    …………………………..Tiote…………………………..
    ……………….Anita……………Cabaye…………….
    Ben Arfa………………………………………..Remy
    …………………………..Cisse…………………………..

That team is a match for anyone! :)

  • 198 roblee7 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:33 PM

marty-toon – yeah, you’re right about huddlestone like, perhaps a loan move til end of season would be worth a punt?

  • 199 LenDixon // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:34 PM

Ketsbia is mentally challenged but in this instance he is kinda right. On paper, full 1st team 11 on top form, not much difference between us and man u. Except manager

  • 200 KINGNUFC // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:34 PM

anyone know Remy’s salary at Marseille ? i doubt MA will give a good ?pffer for him…please prove me wrong..

  • 201 ToonDownSouth // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:35 PM

    Malta Mag

If the only comment you can make involves throwing around insults and telling people to ‘get a life’ because you disagree with their opinions, then I think we’d all rather you didn’t contribute anyway.

PS. “Get a life” ? How does that make any sense in relation to not liking our owner?

  • 202 Spreadthetoon // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:35 PM

Can anyone tell me how they think Remy and Cisse will link up together. Do we see Remy as part of a three upfront with either Marv/HBA tucked behind Cisse or do we see this as a potential partnership in a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1…..either way who sits at the top and holds up play. Not sure playing Cisse on the wings has improved his game….sadly his first touch was not great yesterday, but he had no support and very poor service until Cabaye came on where there was something? Btw has Cisse lost a little pace this season………really hard to tell with him running around in acres of space without any black and white nearby?

  • 203 Jonny // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:38 PM

We all know how good our new starting IX is on form, would match any team in uk, most in Europe. Question is, how often will they all be playing together on form? Unfortunately there will always be a perch or Jonas in it. Back up players aren’t good enough, do like perch but won’t win us trophies.

  • 204 noladonna // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:41 PM

i think the replacement striker will be big Andy Carroll just got a feeling he will be coming back in the summer cant see west ham buying him or any other club even making a bid except us, personally i wouldn’t mind seeing andy come back think some players can only do the business at certain clubs and ive no doubt if he does come back he will get back to his best

  • 205 Pardews Parsnip Bonce // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:42 PM

@Joe how do i know its genuine air?

  • 206 Marty-Toon // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:44 PM

    Kets
Manu are not just good in attack, their team attacks as a whole.
The commentators yesterday on MOD said that the difference between City,Chelsea n Manu is that when they all play well they usually win but when they play badly only Manu win and that’s a lot of the time.
Evra’s way better than Santon,Debuchy could be as good If not better than Rafael.
Collo is a very different player to Vidic, don’t know if he’s better though.
Vidic is way better in the air, both in attack and defence and he’s quicker.
Collo is a better ball player.
Ben Arfa is a better player than Valencia I agree on his day and Nani I don’t even rate,he’s just another Obertan if ya ask me-little end product.
Cleverly Carrick and Scholes is a great midfield, they pressurize and get the ball back when lost and keep the ball well when they have it unlike our Jonas,Tiote,Anita midfield
Now I believe that if we had Ben Arfa(LW),Cabaye,Tiote (back to his old self),Anita then we’d have a midfield to reckon with

  • 207 Ketsbaia9 // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:45 PM

    Krul

    Debuchy Alderweireld Mbiwa Santon

    Anita

    Ben Arfa Sissoko/Cabaye Marveaux/Remy

    Benteke Cisse

We can make an attempt to sign Benteke in the summer when Villa go down. The others players should be signed this month.

I want to see us sign another striker to provide competition for Cisse and Remy.

  • 208 sula // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:46 PM

Does anyone know when Ben Arfa is back?

  • 209 Jail for Ashley // Jan 13, 2013 at 3:49 PM

If the Remy transfer happens and it’s looking likely, if we then could bring in experienced CB and those two young lads from Burnley that Transfer sage said were in Newcastle I’d be over the moon, but me being me will still have a bit of a moan why it wasn’t done in the summer, and those Ashley supporters starting to come out and call people like me morons who don’t like like the Ashley regime might want to remember that this seemingly spurt in transfer activity doesn’t seem to me like he’s wanting to take us to the next level but rather more the case of keeping his eye on the supposed 70M TV money next year, I reiterate no matter what people think about Pards and I am starting to lose faith in him as well if all these supposed targets were brought in during the summer, Spurs , Arsenal and maybe Everton would be seriously looking over their shoulders at us.

  • 210 leesy7nufc // Jan 14, 2013 at 12:31 AM

Wow just wow who is this ketsbaia ? Seriously need the white coats to come get him, the only player atm better than Ba is Falcao, wtf here pal please stop leavening comments like that its embarrassing, Man United are average ? No pal we are average we never played we’ll with a full lineup this season never mind injuries, to say Anita is 10 times better than Carrick shows your lack of footballing knowledge
