Well… I’ll have to say it looks like Rotonda and Catchy have been right all along. No surprise to me, but i would’ve liked them to be wrong.

We’ve payed the price, and now i hope it brings us a better manager.

  • 2 yorkshireToon // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:16 PM

That game has convinced me its time for pardew to go.

I won’t even talk about his substitutions and his constant hoof it up to shola if we are losing is embarassing.

So who would come to newcastle under Ashley?

    di matteo turned down liverpool?

I am seriously worried and have given up really because if i didn’t support the club like benny, cabs, santon i’d be long gone

  • 3 ToonMauritius // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:16 PM

    Lee Ryder ?@lee_ryder
AP says Cabaye wanted to come off with groin injury and asked him to be subbed. “I didn’t want to bring him off” #nufc

    Pardew out!

    This is too far gone.

We’re going down without the mackems I’m afraid

  • 7 Spuggy // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:18 PM

If marv and cabaye were injured then fair do what else could he do.

Watch cabaye be injured for villa.

  • 8 ToonDownSouth // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:18 PM

It’s got to the point where I’m pretty certain I’m not retarded.

I’m pretty sure that Jonas is actually rubbish, Shola on the wing is actually insane, and Pardews substitutions are actually motivated by nothing but ‘let’s get some fresh legs out there’.

  • 9 John Tudor // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:19 PM

if cabaye wanted off why didnt he put an attack minded mf

  • 10 kevymartins // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:19 PM

What’s the point in signing players? as soon as we go down (pardrews fault imo) players like ben arfa cabaye santon will be gona straight away.

  • 14 Magpies-till-d3ath // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:21 PM

    Di Matteo
    Blanc
    Martinez

Either of those please and I’ll maybe consider having anything to do with this joke of a football team! The Championship is going to be a lot harder next season, but I reckon we could sneak into the top-half;)

  • 15 davis_toons // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:21 PM

If QPR goes down, We can go for their Keeper to replace the retiring

    Thank God…BA is off…haha

Get Lukaku in. He is starting to understand the game. Chelsea doesn’t need him anymore.

  • 16 catchy in norway // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:21 PM

    Ruddy

you and many others on here have done nothing but take the piss out if us saying he isn’t good enough,
How can a man that finish 5th be so poor, telling us to grow up or support Sunderland

All you have done is bury your heads in the sand and point at us and tell us we are not supporters

Even though we have said all along we have we have a great team :(

  • 17 newcastle10 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:21 PM

Wonder if we’ll see the Return of the King……..Again!

  • 19 croftus5678 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:22 PM

the problem is almost all the teams around us at the bottom have greatly improved there teams and actually have fight in them….we have quality players but for some reason stop playing when we are leading and without ba upfront to keep it going now we only have cisse’s offsides and sky high’s to keep us occupied.

  • 20 Spuggy // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:22 PM

If we get nothing or just a point from villa we have to then contend with chelsea then spuds. S’hampton after that but it’s another thurs Europe Sunday PL.

    It’s looking grim.

  • 21 daztoon // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:22 PM

Its not really a surprise is it Pardew has been at fault all season.

  • 22 Santon03 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:22 PM

ED, YOU SHOULD HAVE A POLL : WHO WANTS PARDEW OUT

  • 23 geordiejamie89 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:22 PM

What is a big shame, is that in the North East, supporting the biggest club, fans watch Newcastle because they are fans, not because Newcastle play good football. I think Newcastle are only a small part away from finding some form again, but we’ll have to wait and see. Maybe having a player as captain when he doesn’t want to be here isn’t helping. . . . Cabaye for captain.

  • 24 Sinner // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:22 PM

A manager who keeps on playing players like Jonas, Williamson and Shola shows how inept he is..Also taking off our only 2 creative players confirms it really!

  • 25 davis_toons // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:23 PM

    “(pardrews fault imo)”

    1. Its in mine as well ..

  • 26 newcastle10 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:23 PM

pardew dosent even look bothered sack him now before its too late

  • 27 Tinman // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:23 PM

If Pardew isnt sacked we are down. It doesnt matter if we sign Mbiwa. Fcking hell man if we had Messi on that game Pardew would probably have taken him off along with Marveaux and Cabaye to help protect our huge 1 goal lead which we have let slip numerous times this season because of these negative tactics. Does the man not learn?

  • 28 John Tudor // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:23 PM

thought he was arsenal for a medical

  • 29 Ginger // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:24 PM

    Anyhow, Pardew out.

  • 30 croftus5678 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:24 PM

i agree cabaye as captain atleast that way he will not be subbed.

  • 31 Santon03 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:24 PM

IF PARDEW OUT, COLO WILL STAY

  • 32 geordie1892 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:24 PM

    Remember this one..

    “Pardew for England”

    Haha priceless !

  • 33 Spuggy // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:24 PM

    Harsh on Cisse.

He’s played as a winger all season, and only had a couple of games in the middle. He played well 1st half and could have easily been 2 goals to the good had their keeper not had a world class first 30 mins.

And he had shola to play off who has zero movement (but his hold up play was decent 1st half).

  • 34 Toon_Jock // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:24 PM

I’d rather lob both my nuts off than watch that Tw@ Pardew manage another game

  • 35 newcastle10 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:25 PM

  • 38 Chuck Norris // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:25 PM

How long are we meant to allow this circus to continue?

    Until we’re relegated?

We NEED action now! Pardew HAS to go, we HAVE to have a change of direction while there’s still time to pull away from the drop zone.

We need an experienced head…someone who is available….a respected personality that can handle top international players….a tactician capable of analyzing deficiencies and correcting them….a man with a true footballing philosophy who can utlize the skills of the undoubted technical ability we possess…..Glenn Hoddle

  • 39 TimKrulFan // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:25 PM

I will only want pardew to stay if we win euro league and finish top ten. So where are these 5 players we were promised?

  • 40 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:26 PM

Rotonda….I’m not going to get in to this today, as to be quite frank, I’m thoroughly p*ss*d off.

I would like to say that I always try to discuss things with people on here and not just ridicule. I have poked fun at the relentless “Pardew out” calls as generally they are without any thought (not aiming that at you, but surely you’ve witnessed it to). Much like last season where the optimism probably went too far, this season the negativity did to.

No doubt we’ll be able to discuss this another time when emotion is not running so high, I don’t have an issue with people on the blog, I just want what is best for my club, as I’m sure you do.

    Gutted.

  • 41 colwell // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:26 PM

Thats it Pards blame the crowd for losing that would be my choice aswell? he has lost it.

  • 42 GeordieDan // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:26 PM

    Rotonda>

Aside from personally experiencing you being a complete ******** I have to agree now that after today’s showing Pardew could very well take us down.

His decisions today (Cabaye aside because although he was our best player he was knackered and needed to be taken off) were shocking, really shocking.

Marveux should NEVER have been taken off and to change ALL of our mid-field and defend a 1-0 lead against pathetic opposition like Reading AT HOME 25 minutes or so before the end of the game was very telling:

Pardew has lost the plot and the dressing room.

We need great players in and now but who wants to join our car-crash at the minute? I’m not sure that Pardew should be kicked out right now but if no quality players are coming in to give the lads some confidence of our intentions then Pardew might as well walk away now.

BUT WHO WOULD YOU REPLACE HIM WITH THAT WOULD COME?????

  • 43 Santon03 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:26 PM

I WILL BE GLADLY CHANGE MY NAME INTO ASHLEY @SS LICKER IF HE SACK PARDEW TOMOROW

  • 44 davis_toons // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:27 PM

look he was saying, my injury playerssssssss
CaBs back, score a goal, almost going to nil it.
Took two BEST PERFORMING Players OUT.
    Instruction to change the GAME.
    That’s what we got.

Players are all giving all kind of excuses to LEAVE the CLUB. But they want to get along with the FANS still, leaving on a good terms.

  • 45 Toon_Jock // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:27 PM

    Atkins!!

  • 46 geordie157 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:27 PM

Its subbing Marv that annoyed me the most, Cabaye had run his socks off and we dont want him in the treatment room again this season.

We need Sissoko in, then we can actually at least have one quality midfielder on the bench, whether it be him or anita. Relying on Bigi is madness, he does a job and will get better and better. The lack of depth in all areas of the team is worrying, not just centre back and strikers.

Ideally we need 2 cbs, back up lb, a CM, a RW, a LW, and two strikers.

Staying up this season is a must. Then in the summer get rid of thrash, Jonas, Wilo, Gosling and Ranger.

Speaking of Ranger, i believe he’s been giving Cisse striking lessons! Where’s Xisco when we need him.

  • 47 Rotonda heights // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:27 PM

marv didn’t look injured and he could have put an attacking option on for him, not another DM.

Could you imagine SBR or KK playing for a 1-0 at home with half an hour to go!!!

    laurent blanc
    Solsksjaer
    Rijkeard
    Adkins

    Martinez
    Jol
    laudrup
    Poyet

or say goodbye to the tv money ashley

  • 48 sir_norman // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:27 PM

no offence to keegan, but he is not the man for this moment, what we need is a modern tactician, not some old-school manager like keegan. Plus,he and MA had bad blood between them. n no, definitely not shearer. frank rijkaard, maybe. bert van marwijk, maybe.but our best bet is either ralf rangnick or felix magath.

  • 49 daztoon // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:28 PM

Pardew has never been good enough apart from a handful of games last season where we played well we were pretty much dire and relied on a lot of luck

  • 51 boater // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:28 PM

Sinner – That’s the lazy comment to make but willo, jonas and shola whilst not particularly good – weren’t the problem today. He is forced to play them to some extent.

Despite his potential, Cisse has been the worst player on the pitch for us for a while by some distance. It’s staggering how people don’t acknowledge it – just to attack the usual soft targets.

  • 52 JackButler // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:28 PM

If Pardew isn’t sacked, we will go down, its gone beyond injuries and signings, this man a disiese to our club

  • 53 John Tudor // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:28 PM

what your real name by deed poll or the moniker on here

  • 54 Spuggy // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:28 PM

The same old weaknesses crop up -

    - Willo for 1st goal and treating the ball like it’s made of lava when he’s coming out of defense. He’s good in the air, that’s about it.
    - Santon defensive position or lack of cover – this is ok when you’re controlling the game.
    - Cisse very very unlucky 1st half not to score. With the right service and starts up front be back to 20 goals a season. His positional sense needs work however.

  • 55 hatem786 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:29 PM

    KING KEEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN:)

  • 56 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:29 PM

One thing I do want to say though…Cabaye…the man who loads of you have said wants out, dislikes Pardew, is restless and on and on and on…..gave his all today. He was on side and playing for Pardew. Didn’t look like the dressing room was lost to me.

Only player that I could see that was noticeably unhappy was Marveaux when subbed and understandably.

You boys have good ammunition today, don’t waste it by making claims about aspects of the club that you know nothing to very little about just as it suits your argument.

Anyway, I’m off. Catch you later.

then i will wake up and out league possition will have been all a dream (a-la dallas)

  • 58 nufc1984 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:29 PM

I really can’t understand that idiot pardwho using excuses for taking cabaye off. He dropped the biggest ball by bringing off marveaux first. No reason for that eh Alan! What a tool. We’re going down lads. Ashley pards and lamb all to blame. Stood still while others strengthened. Really can’t see where our next point will come from with this tactical tosspot in charge. But Ashley won’t sack him so our calls are in vain I’m aftaid

  • 63 DevonMag // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

I joined this blog back at the start of our relegation season and commented a lot for a couple years, but have recently just been reading the articles and comments.

Our push for Europe didn’t compel me to comment.
The signing of Anita, and the sagas of everyone else (Debuchy, De Jong et al) didn’t compel me to comment.
Loosing Remy at the eleventh hour to candle face Redknapp didn’t compel me to comment.

But that performance from Pardew today was beyond a joke. I can understand Cabaye coming off – I’m sure he’d planned to take him off somewhere around the 75th regardless of score, but PERCH ON FOR F**KING MARVEAUX WHEN WE’RE 1-0 UP AT HOME AGAINST THE CLUB WITH THE WORST AWAR RECORD IN THE LEAGUE has to be the most cowardly, insipid, uninspired piece of mis-management I have ever clapped eyes on in my twenty years of supporting the Toon. PARDEW YOU DOONER, WHAT THE F*CK WERE YOU THINKING!?

We got exactly what we deserved for that, everything about Pardew from his pathetic pre-game attempt at mind games to his endless lambasting of the ref as Jonas fell over (again) made my blood boil. I was out having a walk with the Mrs and the bairn in the snow and made us drive home so I could catch the second half. Didn’t even see Cab’s freekick.

    We need a miracle… M’Biwa would be a start.

  • 64 davis_toons // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

Its subbing Marv that annoyed me the most, Cabaye had run his socks off and we dont want him in the treatment room again this season.

…Are you Pardew’s son? Cabaye is not made of paper.
If he have change the player then he SHOULD also CHANGE the FORMATION, Im i missing or what?

  • 67 nick_9 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

Absolutely clueless. Anyone with half a brain cell could see he set out to win that 1:0 after half time, absolute muppet. When you’ve for half the fickle stadium shouting you don’t know what your doing (after singing his name ten minutes before) then your days are up. Absolute idiot this guy and I don’t know how anyone can defend that. What’s the bet we make a signing now within the next few days to appease the angry fans. Full of Sh1t3 the lot of them, the sooner they’re gone the better. Another journey home practically fcuking depressed

  • 68 JackButler // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

Taking Cabaye off was a good call, remember that he’s been out for a while and needs to be nursed back to full match fitness.

Where we lost it was at half time as whatever Pardew said in the dressing room completely changed the mentality of the side in the second half. Barring some world class saves we should have been 3 up at half time but why the hell Pardew then gets us to sit back is the final nail in his coffin

  • 69 ToonMauritius // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

    shite, my mood is off

  • 70 boater // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

Rotonda – It’s all very well listing managers but who would realistically come now? Adkins – maybe Martinez at a push.

I’ve been behind Pardew all season but it’s hard to see him still in a job if we don’t get 3 points at Villa.

  • 71 Rotonda heights // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:32 PM

    geordie dan

i’ll sort of take that as a compliment. i was only saying what I did because my best mate is a west ham fan who told me exactly what would happen.

  • 72 ToonMauritius // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:33 PM

Shola Ameobi Vs Ian Harte. Jonas is finished & Mike Williamson + abismal subs. Pardew at fault for losing today not the team.

  • 74 newcastle10 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:33 PM

what kind of a manger starts ameobi on the wing when he has a player like obertan to provide some width. why take off marvaux for perch when we had our tails up. den he takes off cabaye for bigirmana and we go 2-1 down. this is not good enough holding out for a 1-0 against reading at home we could of scored 3 or 4 goals today but for pardews negative tactics he needs to go .we need a manager that actually goes to games and play for d win nothing less. what he sees in ameobi is beyond me he clearly cannot control his players. gutierez was tired and really sloppy today but keeps him on instead of marvaux? he clearly dosent have a clue! i remeber wen keegan came back and on his press conference he said i know wat the fans want they want to be entertained we wont hold out for a 1 nill win we want to win by 2 or 3 goals.

  • 75 ToonDownSouth // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:33 PM

Hi fans, a bit of a ‘mare today I thought by the players. I told them to score more goals than Reading – but would they listen? Could have been worse though, eh?

Still, as I said pre-kick-off, I’m your man to get the team back from the Championship first time, and failing that I’m good at League 1 too. BTW, Teams in League One can compete in the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy, which is always exciting – and a good way for Noocarsel to win some meaningful silverware after all these decades. I’m good at that sort of thing, me….

Off on a blind date tonight with myself…

    Till anon, PP

  • 79 GeordieToon89 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:34 PM

Martinez wont come here, but atleast if he did come we’ve got the players there who actually want to play his style… but we need a manager who will get respect from our team! Laurent Blanc or another well known preferably french manager for me… get Rudi Garcia or Laurent Blanc

  • 80 Twatter // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:34 PM

It’s impossible to defend Pardew after today, but I still don’t think we’d be better off sacking him right now. People talk about bringing in “reinforcements” but if we’re playing this badly against Reading at home with this team we’ve put out, then it’s true; we probably don’t deserve to be in the Premier League.

Blame Pardew, but a lot of these players are our first-team players, we’ve got fewer injuries now but we’re still playing like a team destined for the Championship. That’s the sad fact. Even in the season we went down, we managed to win two away games. What I see is no commitment whatsoever from anyone in the club, from the board or the manager, but most importantly from the players themselves. Who decides to run the extra few yards? Who decides to put in that last-ditch tackle? No matter how calamitous Pardew’s tactics were today, the players were simply not good enough.

Reading were the team with hunger, they were the one who looked like they actually wanted to win this game today. This season has all the hallmarks of the one in which we went down, and unless something drastically improves from here onwards, I can see no other alternative. You can demand Pardew be sacked, but what quality of manager would we bring in to replace him? What other manager would work with Mike Ashley? I can’t really see any of the managers people are calling for coming here the way we are right now.

Not really looking forward to going to Aston Villa to see NUFC play at the moment.

  • 81 daztoon // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:35 PM

On AP interview, didn’t Cabs go close to scoring with his last kick of the game? How much pain was he in? Also, doesn’t explain why he took off Marv. He even blamed the fans booing the subs for spreading negativity to the players, nothing to do with another clueless sub from u in thr midst of our worst ever run of results in our PL history, bellend!

Anyone who loses to reading, Brighton and west ham at home shouldn’t be a manager. We were still losing to the west hams and southamptons when we had our best players. Shouldn’t pardew have gone then?? Worst thing is Europa is back soon so squad will be stretched again.

  • 92 Toon1978 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:37 PM

5 new players won’t save us now. With Pardew as manager the problem is still there and new players are 6 months too late :/

Best chance of us surviving must be to get a new manager in, that can get the best out of the squad. Williamson must be replaced though!

  • 104 ToonDownSouth // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:39 PM

    Agree with boater.

We can all list managers all day long, but they’re not going to want to abandon their Premier League club over half way into the season to take charge of a team that may very very well get relegated.

    Just listing names is nonsensical.

Martinez – is incredibly loyal to Wigan, and has turned down Liverpool and Aston Villa. He will not leave them mid-season.

Laudrup – took over a long term project 6 months ago. Ridiculous to think he would leave.

I could list them all, but the reasons are the same.

  • 108 Szarka // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:40 PM

Today i think it showed we really need a Central Defender! Williamson “fogot” to clear in the first goal, and almost got sent off, hes just not PL quality. The problem is that our squad is thin and our subs are weak. Pardew is not a good manager, but if we still could buy Mbiwa, Colo stay until summer, and get a pro striker, we can still avoid relegation.

Pardew cant be sacked unless we have a good backup for him. Yet we cant have anybody that can put this squad together untill the end of this season. So first buy players, not RB, LB, but 2 CB, Striker and a bit creative winger. If we avoid relegaton, than we can sack Pardew, and get in a better coach.

    AP HAVE TO GO….NOW

  • 110 croftus5678 // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:41 PM

i’m all for pards and think a hell of a lot of critisism is unfair against him….even tonight cabaye was not his fault he went to the line for treatment so to make sure he’s ok and not injured again he brought him off…fair play good choice.

looking at reading’s other games they score most of there goals in last 15mins…prob why he went for perch in cabayes place.

however theres no excuse for taking anita off who imo sured up the back line and cut out lots of attacks…not taking shola off who we could all see was rubbish and tired at best even after 30mins of the first half (although no other striker may have been his excuse here.

think i can honestly blame guti/perch/ameobi for there lack of commitment to the clause knowing that was a must win game and giving hardly any effort to it…left williamson out because he was great for 87mins of the game but we all know williamson does not make the best choices when he needs to i.e. easy goal that he miss kicked and the handball goal that for some reason he did not even touch thinking it better to kick the air in front of the ball rather than the ball.

  • 111 Slatymag // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:41 PM

Yep, Pardew out! We have been exeptionally patient, given our history of management merry-go-round, but it is time to say enough is enough. People will say we are being fickle calling for yet another manager’s head, but there is too much at stake to continue with this aimless tactics hoping to scrape another 19 points before the season end. As much as I don’t like the instability of forever chopping and changing manager’s, I think this is the time for a change. If nowt else it will give the players a lift nothing they have to impress whoever comes in. Hopefully they don’t start looking towards the summer already and contacting agents to seek out pastures new.

Well the man’s been found out now and I don’t mind admitting I’m wrong when I’m wrong. Pardew’s decisions over the last few months now have been worrying and sometimes just amateur.

I still don’t agree with constantly knocking our manager and on the back of last seasons achievements I still think he deserved more a a chance than you lads gave him.

But at the end of the day Pardew should go-PROVIDING that we realistically bring in another high-quality manager and numerous high-quality players.

Don’t think Ashley will do either tbh and make no mistake for all your Pardew bashing this season Ashley is far far more to blame,

Unfortunately Papiss Cisse failed to take a hatful of chances and thats what cost us in the end. Why Pardew took off Marveaux i,ll never know he dos,nt trust his playmakers and tries to shut up shop on a 1 – 0 lead, it beggers belief …..Yohan i can understand as he was tiring and we don,t want another injury. Pardew i,m afraid is struggling and i,m starting to get worried, Villa next, its going to be a long week.

  • 133 gonufc (up and Hatem) // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:46 PM

So, Villa- one of the poorest teams all year, almost embarrassing at times and seen as almost certs for relegation- are currently ahead of us….

  • 134 Ginger // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:47 PM

It doesn’t matter how we sign, as long as Pardew is in here were not going to win.

Lets be honest, he’ll still settle for his one nill wins, then when that doesn’t work attempt to settle for a draw, then when that doesn’t work blame something else.

He’ll still teach us absolutely horrendous set plays.

    He’ll still play Jonas.

He’s not a good manager, he’s really not. We went from looking like a top four side in the first half, to then a half time talk with Pardew, we then came out looking like a league 2 side.

He’s an idiot. I really don’t understand how someone could be so stupid. I really don’t get what goes through his head. Starting Shola and Gutti who should not be anywhere near the team. Half the time it seemed like we were playing with nine men. Obertan would have done better then Guti, and Ranger of all people would have done better then Shola.

Why the hell settle for a one nill lead?! Against arguably the worst team in the league. Why the hell take off the most creative player on the pitch (Marveux) for Perch? Why the hell put on yet ANOTHER CDM in Bigi for Cabaye? Why the hell try to settle for a draw, once again at home, to the worst team in the league?

Pardew is an idiot, he has no idea what he’s doing. He’s cost us most games playing 4-4-2 with two players that couldn’t work together, now he’s ruining us this way.

    Pardew needs to go.

  • 135 colwell // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:47 PM

No manager should still be employed after losing 10 from 12 games.

Although sources have said Pards can suck the chrome off an exhaust pipe, may explain alot.

Pardew responded to critics today after leaving Jonas and Shola on. I left Jonas on today as I felt he he deserved it behind closed doors the effort he puts in me is incredible. Shola was left on due to him being a beast, I can’t wait to see him later.

…Once we avoid relegation, Pardew will talk like a motor mouth and takes all the credit to continue his 8 years contract…but that is one of a solution for now, maybe.

  • 143 West Lancs Geordie // Jan 19, 2013 at 5:57 PM

Come on Ashley will never appoint KK or Big Al again. He wants a puppet to blame and he’s got one. When he sacks Pards tomorrow the only applicants will be Andy Pandy, Sooty & Orville.
Come on Big Mike shock us all and buy Mbiwa, Douglass, Pieters,Sissoko & a pacy foward who can score goals. Odemwinge from West Brom wouldn’t be a silly buy. He won’t get the likes of De Jong too expensive.

  • 148 LGFUAD21 // Jan 19, 2013 at 6:14 PM

SORRY GUYS AN ESSAY HERE. TRYING TO BRING CONTENT RATHER THAN SIMPLY INSULT

We should now all be at Defcon 4.

Pardew set todays team up wonderfully in my eyes. Shola isnt a winger but he maintained possession, played unselfishly. winning the ball and giving it to our skillful guys (Cabs, Anita, Debuchy).

Jonas did the same on the other wing. It took away from our attack but it gave Marv, Cabs and Anita a chance to play the ball.

Cisse needs intensive work to return him to the player he as last season and in Germany. He lacks confidence and you can see his decision making has gone to pot with it but he isnt a lost cause.

The Pardew screwed it with HIS tactics. Fair enough you need to take Cabaye but shoulda left Marveaux on.

Before subs we were controlling that game, we had all the momentum and enough possession to prevent Reading from playing and building and that was down to the fluid football being played down our spine from Collo through Marv, Cabs and Anita.Which was some of the best we have played this season by some way.

The changes invited Reading to play football, they built momentum and we were suddenly on the back foot.

    RUBBISH PARDEW

We need three points not 1 and Id rather see us die on our feet that live on our knees.

    ON THE BOARD AND SIGNINGS

I hate this notion that we are struggling through lack of signings. It’s just not true. We needed signings to contend but not to survive and achieve mid table (which lets face it became our goal before Christmas).

I would love new signings but people seem to think they will save us from relegation. THEY WONT. Because the root of our problem is that we wont use them properly.

I want stability in management but we need to entrust that to the right guy and that is not Pardew.

Look at Billy Davies. He constantly got Forest into the playoffs with a average team (even for the Championship) because he set them up well. They suffered from not having the signings but they werent relegated for it. As soon as they sacked him they were in a relegation fight because the new guy couldnt set the team up.

Martinez somehow magically keeps Wigan up because he is able to set his very very poor squad up to work for him and they give games a stab every time regardless of who it is.

What would be more valuable to us than any signing (even Messi or Ronaldo) is a manager of quality. One who can set the team up to play to its strengths and improve its weaknesses. But also one who can convince the players and prospects that we are on the up and not the reverse.

Rijkard is available (and unlikely to be appointed to another european giant but has the credibility)
Blanc is available and im sure would ove to be part of our new french revolution.
    Bert Van Marwijk
    GARY NEVILLE

At first i was hoping pardew would ensure survival and then think about getting a better manager in. I thought it would be dangerous to shake it up this late in the season. But that is not true. We need to go all out for this and shake it up. And if it fails, we tried at least.

Would rather go down and be in control than have it out of our hands.

  • 149 Toonacious T // Jan 19, 2013 at 6:31 PM

Said months ago that all those who wasted their time arguing whether Ashley or Pardew were to blame needed to realise the two were not mutuslly exclusive. A bad owner will inevitably attract a psychophantic manager and repel a good manager from wanting to join our club. AP has played the role of MA’s apologist all season, why? Because he knows he will never get to manage such a big club ever again and still can’t believe he is still here. To beefman and co., would two relegations in four years be enough for u to admit that u got it very wrong when u sucked in all their 5 year plan guff?
