San Lorenzo Say Coloccini Staying At Newcastle

There is news just been posted on the San Loremzo FC site (their official twitter account) that Fabrico Coloccini will not be joining their roster – so it looks like Fabricio  will be staying at Newcastle.

Fabricio Coloccini – staying at Newcastle

The is the short statement from Lorenzo FC:

“Finally, after long negotiations, we announced that Fabricio Coloccini not join the roster of Lorenzo”  “It was not possible to release the Newcastle player and therefore the club will look for another alternative to strengthen the defense.”

There has been uncertainty at Newcastle for several weeks now regarding the future of the Newcastle captain, so if this news is true – it’s even more good news for Newcastle fans this week -a dn indeed the news is being reported elsewhere – so we assume it’s true.

Fabricio Coloccini has some personal problem, and his wife and two kids have returned to Argentina, and Fabricio made it clear to Newcastle that he wanted to quit the club he has been at almost five years,  to return to Argentina.

It was only last March that Fabricio signed a new contract – said to be worth £60K/week – that will keep him at Newcastle until the summer of 2016, but of course we don’t know if he will be returning to Argentina this summer.

But the San Lorenzo statement seems to suggest they will be looking for other defenders, and they had said Coloccini would have to join them this week, or else their pursuit of him would end.

This is not official news yet, but the statement has been posted on the FC San Lorenzo site – and we are hoping for the best – and we assume Newcastle will be making a statement shortly, although his father usually beats everybody to it. 😀

But it sounds like more good news for Newcastle.

    What a couple of days.

Is this the impetus AP was after…?!

Let’s see how he uses it! Prove it.

So long as he’s professional and doesn’t engineer an exit by not giving 100%.

IF they gel instantly, we will beat villa. If not, I’m not sure. If the DON’T gel in 2 or 3 games time (ie if they’re still playing poor AFTER the chelsea game) then even I will be looking at the Manager. (Bano, I believe we may have just come to a middle ground on this! 😀 )

Wait a second, someone said on an earlier thread that maybe he was looking for a move away due to us not strengthening in the summer…now we’ve brought in 4 (potentially 5 depending on what happens with Sissoko)…he’s staying. Colo is actually a mastermind…he had this planned all along…what a captain.

We need to keep the status quo until the summer, his performances over the last couple of games have shown that he’s professional on the pitch at least, stripping him of the am band now could cause more problems than we need.

Hes only captain because we had no other player who could take over from Nolan at the time, hes a poor captain on the pitch and doesn’t lead players plus he has enough on his plate atm without needing to be captain oh and the small matter of him not wanting to be here anymore is slightly worrying for our leader on the pitch

Thanks for the advice though I will chose to stay as loud as I am cheers

#13 my latest article instigated that Pardew now has all the things he has asked for. He has no more excuses left.

This will show AP for what he is. If he manages to kill the optimism and feel good factor these signings (and Colo) brings then dont mind me if I dont hold back.

I will go down on record to say that I think he will on some level. I am just hoping it isn’t completely!!

it´s gonna be fab second half of the season 🙂 if we sign wolfswinkel then we should have an ideal attackers for playing 442 and 433 – i always liked strikers with different skills between them- i mean fast/pass and strong/finisher – so i can see some link up play in our attack finally

What has changed? Either Ferguson calling us a ” Wee Nothern club” or Benny saying ” Need to show ambition” or maybe just the fatman getting a conscience. Whatever it is totally loving it.HWTL
If Ashley has turned the corner, good on him. I’ve been his worst critic, and don’t mind eating my words if he carries on the way he is 🙂

Actually I am being harsh on Colo he is a good captain but only when things are going well imo back against the walls he has no answers and goes quiet which isnt what we need when we are falling apart for me

When we were really in the sh*t Nolan and Barton would run through our lads and get them fighting for the club when was the last time Colo has take a chunk out of one of ours after they cocked up?

A club captain sets an example on and off the pitch im sorry but colo should not have the armband, he’s acted completly unprofesionally, no statement, wanted the club to simply release him and let his old man run his mouth
On the pitch his heads been elsewhere and he has not been vocsl at all hasnt barked orders at the lads or tried to keep morale up on the pitch, if anything this situation has probablt been a factor in low morale
Sorry but we made him captain a good faith and he’s blown his shot, move over, keep your down, keep your pants up, concentrate on getting the team back up the table and re earn the right to wear the armband rather than wearing it as a sweetner to keep him here

So cat got your tongue Colo? that goes for you to Lamearse!

…funny how everything about this matter is either communicated through Colo’s father or San Lorenzo! But if he stays and his head is clear then I guess the defense is in order 🙂

…now bring us that replacement for Ba (someone who can play wide on the left)
