French Reports That Sissoko A Done Deal At €2.5M

12:30 pm, Thursday, January 24th, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 490 Comments

le10Sports is reporting that Newcastle have signed Moussa Sissoko to a permanent deal at Newcastle for €2.5M, which is about £2M.

moussa sissoko 97

Moussa Sissoko – a done deal?

Here’s the translation of the le10 report:

As we revealed earlier this week, Moussa Sissoko has reached an agreement with the English club Newcastle. And according to our information, the player will join the Magpies this winter.

The two clubs have reached an agreement to €2.5 million for the transfer of the player.” Dismissed by the professional group president Olivier Sadran, Moussa Sissoko had to make some serious efforts in order to resolve the situation this winter.”

He will leave Toulouse now and not next June when his contract with TFC should end, the player has in effect agreed to forgo his signing bonus.” Moussa Sissoko will commit to a five and a half years.”

This is breaking news – but great news for Newcastle United – and we would think this report is very close to the truth.

Moussa will be another great signing for the club.

Comments welcome.

Luck seems to be on our side atm, doesn’t it work in weird ways… hazard beating ball boys up to get suspended for our game against him!

  • 2 santonthenewmaldini // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:31 PM

I am a bit worried about dressing room harmony but when i think about it Newcastle do a lot of research on players these days on personality you know checking up that they dont like to party and are family men and religious men
and I believe listening to interviews that Debuchy, Mbiwa and Gouffran will give their all in a Toon shirt and sound like good guys

The reason there might be disharmony but that would because we would be getting French players with great technique and work ethic who look after themselves and they have to deal with these guys :

Ranger 1st class idiot and not good enough
Ameobi bros Lazy and not good enough
Simpson not good enough and cheated on his missus
Willo not good enough but model pro
    Perch same as Willo
    Taylor Always injured
Gosling Not Good enough always injured

It’s like when you were younger and you would play football and the worst players would be last picked and they would always be the ones that made a mistake and the team would rage at them this is what its like for us

Could include Jonas in that list as well our better players this season have been French speaking and Anita

Anybody still think Ashley is unambitious?

  • 4 Transfer Sage // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:34 PM

He is the player we are missing from midfield….genuine box to box driving player, solid in the tackle, offers enough going forward too.

Things are looking up…looking at 7 points from our next 3 games.

    TOON TOON

  • 5 JackButler // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:35 PM

Ok, who’s kidnapped Ashley and where are you hiding him

  • 6 Tekkers29 // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:36 PM

i think the main problem with llamarse is he came from the casino business and they all look at their customers as idiots as they think only mugs gamble in casinos.

he is small time and is now trying to deal with big chairmen who are big time charlies who won’t be bullied like the people he has dealt with in the past throughout his career.

  • 7 catchy in norway // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:36 PM

We are no longer black and white :(

We are now known as le blues :(

    Great players though

And if I’m honest, does it matter if they where all French , we could have a team with players from all over Europe

England has itself to blame for high player salary and player price,

  • 8 lucasnufc // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:36 PM

I bloody love Cabaye. Has practically signed all our players.

  • 9 Whos_SuperMac // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:36 PM

The next phase of Ashley’s plan… Cabaye (the new Platini) to be made club captain.

  • 10 Markaccus // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:37 PM

All these deals for new players, this january has been the transfer window equivalent of porn!

Hi, my pen has slipped. There’s ink all over the contract. Ooo, yeah, I’m gonna play for your club, babeh, I’m gonna play hard, until you win all over the place.

  • 11 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:37 PM

JB….Let’s think about that for a second as there can’t be too many places you could hide Ashley.

Bills….I have faith, however, for me, this summer will be the time where we can really judge where we’re going. It’s looking good though.

  • 12 Transfer Sage // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:38 PM

    Bills

Can’t argue that what we saw in the summer could be seen as lack of ambition. It might not have been, it could have just been complacency.

But this is the first of two tests for Ashley.

    1. correct the wrongs from the summer…he has now done that comfortably with these signings.

    2. show he has learned and still bring in 2-3 first team players (either straight into the team or pushing for a place, not kids for development squad) in the summer to keep us going forward as you always need to refresh the squad.

He has done all he can so far to right the wrongs though so credit to him.

I’m still sticking with my theory that Ashley handed his details to one of those phone calls claiming he has won the nigerian lottery and for only £100 the monies will be all his.

And now somebody is using his card details to buy our players haha.

I hope this is true like! Just the perfect player to go alongside wor yohan. Big powerhouse is what we need. No offence to Anita and tiote but if this guy comes they must get used to warming that bench! Buzzing like!!!!!

    CAM de jong?
    Genuine winger
Still need 1-2 CB’s (depending on colo)
GK with harps prob retiring although havent seen much of alnwick!
Development squad still needs a major overhaul

  • 27 northernirishtoon // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:44 PM

  • 34 Markaccus // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:47 PM

    Krul

    Dbchy
    Colo
    Mbiwa
    Santon

    Sisk
    Cabs
    Anita

    Marv
    Cisse
    Goofy

When hba comes back, we have him in place of marv or goofy, which ads to the pace on the bench.

  • 38 Transfer Sage // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:48 PM

I’d like gary hooper but think he might be too expensive.

I’d take a look at tom ince as a winger as well as matt phillips.

Jordan rhodes has to be worth looking into, having another very good season.

Thats for english players…..there are many more options abroad.

If we had been on top ten, I doubt we had done these signings..

Is it greedy to want Thauvin as well?

    For Villa

    Krul

    Debuchy Colo? M’Biwa Santon

    Sissoko Cabaye Anita

    Gouffran, Cisse Marveaux

We all know Shola and Jonas will still be there though!!
    Oh well patience.

Nice to see that Colo was at training today not in Argentina as reported by Independent.

Great signing this lad if we have him.

  • 44 JP...from The Rock // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:51 PM

Sissoko is the tall, strong, box to box beast of a player we have been missing. He is like Tiote but with more technique and more physical presence and more running in him. He will be a massive difference to our play.

It’s all looking very rosy at the minute. I just feel we are lacking in LW and ST now.

But I can’t complain, none of us can, who else thought we would get more than just “one or two more in” ??? seriously? I am loving this window! :D

  • 46 Tekkers29 // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:51 PM

i know ashley at times can be a bit of a d**k head but what people have to understand is that he is not here to try and make a few million from signing and selling players. to him the money that has come in on transfers is like pocket change to him, he bougth the club just to advertise his brand but to do that he needs us to get into the champions league and then even higher.

this guy never thinks small, he plans big and thats how he makes the big money. if you look when the recession hit his net worth dropped by nearly 50% which was built back up to close to the same level in 2 years.

  • 47 Carryingcoals // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:52 PM

I think we might be reading in to potential dressing room disruptions a bit too much. There’s been a lot of negative press towards these signings and a couple of French managers seem pissy that a club not doing very well in the league have taken their best players. It’s understanable, but it seems the character of the players we have brought in will blend for a great team ethos of hard work and determination.

French players see the PL as a step up and the real stage to prove themselves – just look at Cabaye for example. His pedigree has enhanced playing in England, he has taken a lot of plaudits and regularly starts for France. PL football has helped that (not the sole reason of course but a big help nonetheless).

Cabaye captain would make sense for me anyway. I can’t see any sort of dressing room bust up on the horizon and I think it’s just a bit of negativity aimed at our club that we can brush aside. Good times ahead mis amis?

I think both lamb head and Pardew should both go, they do not have the quality to run a football club

JP… completely agree. Even getting ok players like Gouffran for nominal fees seems surprising – although highly sensible. The window so far has been a pleasant surprise. We always knew the time would come with Ba and the only downside has been the Colo affair unfortunately.

  • 51 Transfer Sage // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:54 PM

I think there won’t be problems.

Providing players don’t exclude each other and still get on then there is no issue. People do not need to be best friends providing they have a good professional relationship.

  • 52 numba9 // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:54 PM

@ rotonda. We seem to have agreed on a team! That’s what I posted too. I think shola and jonas on the bench. Would be a waste otherwise. They can both do a job off the bench later in the game, but not as starters. Hope pardew sees it that way.

  • 55 JackButler // Jan 24, 2013 at 12:54 PM

I believe these additions to the squad are starting to rile a few people in the Southern press. They were buzzing when Redknapp hijacked the Remy deal, yet they seem to be negative with the players coming into the club now. With the new lads coming in and the return of Cabaye and Ben Arfa, we will have a squad more than capable of finishing in the top half of the table. Which is worrying the Sour Southerners!

  • 88 JP...from The Rock // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:09 PM

Yeah all these reports saying there will be clashes and cliques in the dressing room. I understand where they’re coming from but that didn’t happen at Arsenal did it? As mentioned most of our players are French speakers anyway lol The only problem I can see is that Pardew our manager knows no French from what I know and neither do our coaches so that will be interesting. Maybe we will have Bernard as interpreter shouting out the instructions and Cabaye and co helping them out when it’s said in English.

I would love to see Gamiero, Doumbia or Wilfried Bony here after Sissoko.

  • 89 aidantoon // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:10 PM

sissoko is the player I really want, he will add power to our midfield, he is very good and this will allow cabaye and hba to do their stuff.
just need another forward now and then we can progress up the table.

Billson @ 3 – Much as I am gobsmacked and totally excited by all this sudden transfer activity from Ashley I have to agree with Transfer Sage @ 12 and Talentet @ 41.
If this is a new thinking, ambitious Ashley, well bring it on, but I have my doubts that it has only been brought about by the thoughts of not having all that lovely money coming into the Premier League next season.
My suspicious mind says that Simpson, Colo, Santon and Tiote will all be gone for big money in the summer if not before and he will be saying in the next window “You had you’re signings in January – that’s all you’re going to get folks!”
Ie no real strengthening of the squad in numbers and no real ambition to take the club further.
If he had got some of these signings in, in the last window, especially Mbia and Sissoko, we could have been sitting really pretty by now.
The next window will be the test of whether Ashley wants to be ambitious – not now.
Until then, however, I’m buzzing about all these transfers in. Let’s just hope Pardew is good enough to utilise them properly and keep us up.

You’re all wrong! Ashley didn’t give a damn abou the club but he’s suddenly found his get up and go again after meeting a new lass called Rebecca. He knew she was keen from day one as she kept following so it is in fact Rebecca the Newcastle fan we have to thank.

Joking aside. I still think we’re a little worse off up top but have strengthened the Defense. If sissoko and another striker comes in I will be truly amazed at this window and what the club have done to help
Avoid relegation. At the moment I’m thankful but hoping for more whilst the irons hot, hopefully nobody leaves without enough time to replace them.

  • 105 JP...from The Rock // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:17 PM

Ibiza – lol Let’s hoe this has been Pardew’s plan all along. To buy quality Frenchies with good attitude, young with good re-sale value-, players that can improve the team and become the backbone for our future success and players that like to play along the deck in his favoured 4-3-3 formation. Maybe the reason we were hoofing it about is because players like Willo, Simmo and Gutierrez don’t know how to pass along the ground as they aren’t good enough.

Maybe hopefully with these players now on board it will push players like them and Shola down to the bench or even further down. We can’t depend on them to save us when they can hardly make it into our team.

  • 106 Spuggy // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:17 PM

  • 115 Roppa // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:21 PM

    Hi Lads,
    I’ve just had a brainwave!!
For the first time since KK & SBR we have 10 outfield players who are all comfortable with the ball. They are largely continental players, so rather than trying to convert these foreign players to adapt to playing the typical English style, we should change our playing style to suit the players we now have. With these players we should be able to dominate possession & control games. Let’s go for a Barca style team with HBA as our Messi. Outfield team & formation as follows:

    Debuchie MYM Colo Santon

    Goufrann Cabaye Sousokko Anita Marveau
    Ben Arfa

Sell the players who are weak in possession: Williamson, Simpson, Ameobie’s, Tiote, Obertan, Jonas, & buy young players who are comfortable with the ball and change the playing system throughout the Club to the same style.
Finally, I never thought I’d say this but, many thanks to Mike Ashley

My ball boy story involves Danny Simpson. Last season at one of my least favourite grounds Stoke. Ba hat trick in a 3-1 victory – yes we did win away ! You’ll remember Stoke used to use towels to dry the ball
for Delap long throws. More importantly though it was a blatant ploy to waste time when Stoke were winning. The ball boys had a ritual to waste time with impunity. With the toon bossing the game and in front Simpson repeatedly called for the towel before taking a throw in and this was picked up by Raylor as well. The home fans really lost it and started giving the ball boys stick. Thoroughly entertaining and a great
away trip. Reminds me how Pardew had a defence that looked weak on paper playing so well. We can look forward with optimism with every signing player. Let the good times roll.

  • 121 JP...from The Rock // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:24 PM

I hope Tiote comes back to his usual self from the ACON, the Tiote of last season and not this one. He really has been shocking for us and maybe the cup is the kick up his arse that he needed. If he comes back doing the same crap before he left then we should play Anita / Marveaux or even Perch in his place alongside Cabaye and hopefully our new recruit Sissoko.

  • 122 nick_9 // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:25 PM

Spuggy – if Pardew can get the most out of the midfield it will certainly compensate for the loss of Ba but at the minute it’s still a bit disjointed without any fluidity. When tiote and Ben Arfa are back with the addition of gouffran and possibly sissoko we have quality there so lets hope they play as they can. Gomis has a proven record and is out of contract in the summer, he could be a cheap option but is getting on a bit at 27 or 28

He’s 31, been a great player, fantastic servant and model professional but he’s not getting any younger and has perhaps lost a yard of pace. If we can get 5-6m for him and replace then great business

  • 125 Markaccus // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:27 PM

  • 128 JP...from The Rock // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:28 PM

Gomis would be good to have but not the player I would go for. We need a striker with pace. I feel we should try our luck with Gameiro again, he is quality and would be perfect. Remy would also have been good but stuff that clown let him drown in money. If we can’t manage it then I would go all out for Wilfried Bony, although he’s not the fastest he reminds me to Drogba he just oozes class.

numba9 – Ideally we would have a back-up quality player behind each position on the pitch. That way we would be covered for everything be it suspensions or injuries. We are slowly getting there but if the player we buy for that role doesn’t perform then we will have to sell and the re-sale value is important then, because with that money reinvested then we will always be on the up. We can’t waste money on 29+ year olds we need young and hungry players, just like the ones we’re getting in this window.

l think old red nose and floppy chops has well and truely p***ed Ashley off!
Ashley’s plan is brilliant if we stay up, buy players nearing the end of their contracts, preferably French who can actually play footy and young.
Our club is fast becoming the home and breeding ground for the French national team, it has been done on a very modest budget ( anyone know how much has been spent transfering these lads in) and l hope it continues.
We are about to see if Pardew really wants to play continental football, l believe he does.
The captaincy will l hope be passed to Cabaye and Mbiwa can be vice captain and they can both gell us into a formidable team, also speak to and advise on potential additions in the future.
Now is the right time to strike in the transfer market because with the additional money flooding into the league next season the fees and wages will increase and most teams are only topping up to cover injuries, silly boy’s.
Overall l must say l have been hoping this would happen but doubtfull it would and l must also congratulate red nose floppy chops and Remy for their wonderful encouragement and desire for Ashley to invest so we will reach our rightful place in the top 4 next season, again our sincere thanks to the three of you.

  • 170 Jimbothemag // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:55 PM

I would be more inclined to play the following formation:

    ————– Krul ——————-

    Debuchy Mbiwa Colo Santon

    Sissoko

    Cabaye Anita

    Ben Arfa/Goufran Marveaux/Goufran

    Cisse

The midfield three can all pretty much rotate as they are competent in defence, but Anita is actually superb at linking with the front players with his intelligent and quick passing, as long as one covers when the other two go forward from midfield we will have much more fluidity and cause defenders more problems.

  • 171 Ketsbaia9 // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:57 PM

Expect Jaques Santini or Jean Tigana to be our next manager next season. If we tie up Sissoko, sign Alderweireld to replace Coloccini and sign Benteke in the summer, there’s reason why we can’t finish in the top three behind Chelsea and Man City.

    —————– Krul —————-
    Debuchy — Mbiwa — Colo — Santon

  • 178 JP...from The Rock // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:59 PM

numba9 – I agree with that point in like-for-like. We have definately got like-for-like with M’biwa for Colo but hopefully he’s not meant to be his replacemnet and come summer we will be looking for Colo’s proper replacement. M’biwa is even better than Colo he’s that good. I just hope he settles in quickly.

As for Ba’s replacement, it’s tricky, how much money do we have left after all these recent purchases? Either way we should not risk it with only Cisse, Gouffran and Strolla. We should be going for the same level as Ba and Gameiro fit the bill for me. He wanted to try his luck with PSG and it hasn’t worked out for him, maybe now he will listen to our offer? He is what we need and just the striker to complement Cisse with his pace and skill. Ba and Cisse were too similar and Gameiro is in the same class as him. Wilfied Bony is too I believe, I relatively unknown striker that is not too quick but is lethal in front of goal also.

I am loving this window and I can’t wait to see who the next player through the door will be, exciting times indeed :D

  • 179 bollance // Jan 24, 2013 at 1:59 PM

Does anyone think AC could be the final piece in the Jigsaw?

Correct me if i am wrong but his link up / hold up play is excellent. With the injection of pace we now have upfront it could work?

Waching Fellani vs Everton at home. The way Everton were turning defense into attack via direct balls to his chest made Everton very effective as an away team.

Of course my point is unpopular because almost without exception people want to see champagne football which we hope will flow with the number of french coming in.

But objective for the rest of the season is to win at all costs as Mapou says.

Lets face it, this season we have lacked fight which for me has been a massive disappintment and the reason i see the player culpable for the low league position we are in!

If he did come and took a pay cut, which he would need to do to fit into the wage cap would that not prove a point?

Just because we have the target man it does not mean we will play long ball beecause lets face it Krul or Willo (who may not be in the team much now) wouldnt find him.

Bollance -It would not give the right message to our players I feel. Having a deserter come back because his ‘big’ move did not fill up to the hype should be like a slap across the faces of the players that stayed and fought on for the cause after he left midway through the season.

His form is relevant also, as we need consistent goal-scorers and not one season wonder players. I see your point on him in set-plays but that side of our game has improved already with the acquisition of M’biwa. We can’t afford to waste a proper goalscorers position for the sake of having a good header of the ball in his place. We already have that with Shola not another one please.

    tads…Who?

  • 241 Beattie25 // Jan 24, 2013 at 2:27 PM

At the end of the day if Englush players were actually talented, hardworking and value for money then NUFC would be filled with them.

Fact is if your young, English and talented you’ll be snapped up for inflated prices for massive money that is disproportionate to the market.

Other clubs should focus on bringing through talent (like we are trying to do at NUFC) rather than jumping on Pardews back for hi comments.

With English players you will win nothing in this current climate.

The big clubs snap them up so they can meet the quota of English players whilst the lower league teams take full advantage of the inflated need for English players.

The problem doesn’t lie with NUFC the problem is with the poor English FA, the attitude of most young English players and the quality of foreign players.

The whole system needs to change.

Can’t believe I’m doing this but I will protect Pardew by saying he isn’t a hypocrite.

It IS sad that NUFC are signing so many French and NUFC should be filled with British players. But to get success you must go abroad.

If Sissoko was English he’d be going for £25 million no doubt.

Ultimately for me I don’t care where they are from if the play with pride, quality and passion. 3 things you don’t get out of English players in the modern game.

  • 242 Tommyy // Jan 24, 2013 at 2:27 PM

Isn’t it amazing what a lift a couple of good signings can bring! Compare this blog now to what it was on Saturday evening! I truly believe our time may have come as long as Pardew bucks up his decision making.
This will be arguably our greatest window under Ashley, better than the one which saw us come Fifth last year.
If we can manage a midtable finish this season and weed out some of the weaker players in the summer with better quality replacements we are well on our way to another successful season next year.
Pardew’s been handed a lifeline it’s now all down to him how we fare from now on.

Absolutely brilliant that people now have to think about what our best 11 could be. Saylor, Cheick, Anita, Marv etc all fighting to get a spot. That’s the way it should be. Christ, we even have cover at both full back positions now!!

The main plus would be the power of Sissoko and the pace of Mapou. We will play higher up the pitch for sure, Cabaye will look like a superstar. We will press and force errors, and I know that Papiss will start banging them in. This team is looking stronger and Cisse is the perfect striker to have to get in behind. Cabaye will move it quicker and watch us go.

Finally, the likes of Jonas, Shola, Obertan, can be squad players, but they will still have a part to play.

Sissoko completed and possibly a loan striker (Gameiro?) and that would be great. A new CB and Striker in the Summer and we can genuinely rattle a few top teams. Can’t wait to see Sissoko cross swords with the likes of Yaya, as he can be as good if not better in my opinion

Actually, Mr Kebe, the french players we’re signing are ones that are part of the international set-up. You had to jump ship and play for Mali as you know you had absolutely no chance of getting into the French squad – and in effect, absolutely no chance of getting into ours.

  • 367 Spotlight Kid // Jan 24, 2013 at 3:41 PM

    JP @ 358

AP has 3 games to stave off the axe. If he doesn’t return 7 points from these games points he’ll be able to go ski-ing on the one year salary he will then be owed by MA. Even if he does, he’s strictly on probation after recent events, Ashley will not be happy with anything less than 25-30 points from the remaining games after breaking the Andy Carrol piggy bank.

Either way I can’t see AP being here next season; Ashley might be a slow learner – but he’s a learner nevertheless.

  • 368 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Jan 24, 2013 at 3:43 PM

Catchy…I fully expect a slow and steady start with the new lads, lets call it defensive. We have a squad that needs some confidence, which will be boost by the new players, but let’s be realistic, it does take time to integrate in to a new country and squad. Let’s judge them more on how they do in a few games time rather than the first games.

Cut him at least a little slack.

I have an answer to the collo saga…………….If they cant stump up the cash, why not let us pick, 3,4, or maybe 5 of there players in a straight swap.they might not be very good but could develop in the youth team. pay them a total combined wages amount less than what collo’s on… If not then NO DEAL, take it or leave it…

Sissoko would be a massive signing, especially if we can get him for this winter period, maybe our best ov the window, i have always said quality is the key when buying and we have bought quality imo, players all at the right age with good experience, looks like they have the right attitude as well which is a big bonus as well.
it dosnt bother me one bit that they are french, there are plenty of British players that dont step up to the mark for sure.
I have to admit i still have a massive worry about our manager, can he handle the whole influx of players, can he handle all the personalities, can he deal with leaving unhappy players out, can he change his stagnent excuse making way of thinking, will he stop playin the usual suspects, will he think more about set plays as he has no clue about them, its comical.

This season he has pissed me off more than any manager i can ever remember at the toon with the injuries excuses and the europa league excuses with the slating of the younger players and still praising the seniors when they have been not much short of awful, and picking the same teams that have been continually getting stuffed.
i have always stuck up for the owner cos as a club we were buried three years ago and we have came back brilliantly apart from this first half of the season, we have genuine quality in our squad, and hands went up for not strengthening in the summer, even so we did not let our 11 purples as deggsy calls them go and we added, so maybe if it was not enough to push on to the top 4 it certainly was good enough to stay in the hint for another europa spot, AP said he was happy with the squad at the start of the season, it has went tits up he is the manager but for me his decisions and excuses have but a universe of a dampner on our season, you have plenty to make up for in the second hakf of the season, im going to giv3 youa chance to do it.
you say your managerial inspiration is Jose Mourinho well you have not got half the balls of that man or a tenth of the personality, he would tell senior players off if they were playing crap, you wont but you defer youe negativity towards the players you know you can get away with it with ie younger players and the not so vocal, i am praying you turn it around, but the way you have been this season has really pushed me miles away from you and your train of thought.

Villa is a must win game next week. I don’t expect our signings to have blinders but Villa are awful and their confidence will be shot after losing to Bradford and maybe even more if they go out of the FA cup this weekend. We are due a long awaited away win too.

Krul; Debuchy, Coloccini, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon; Anita, Sissoko, Cabaye, Marveaux, Gouffran; Cisse.

Sissoko and Anita just behind Cabaye, with Gouffran and Marveaux on the wings to support Cisse. Replace Gouffran with Ben Arfa when fit.

  • 436 beefman13 // Jan 24, 2013 at 5:18 PM

If Sissoko is signed and can play straight away it is a very very smart bit of business to say the least, am chuffed to bits about it, virtually everyone on this blog was down in the dumps a week ago, we have all had a massive lift, and we needed it, signings are being delivered spirits are up, avoiding the drop is the main concern still, come on the toon we can still do it. and there maybe someone else coming in as a direct replacement for BA, fingers crossed.

I will say lambias has had big stick, but he and Lee Charnley have set up everyone of these deals, and it looks like MA has got them over the line. well done to all.

  • 445 MacToon // Jan 24, 2013 at 5:26 PM

After such a low on Saturday evening, what a weeks it’s turning out to be.
Gobsmacked by the quality we’ve been able to bring in this January and for such good transfer fee’s. Obviously with France’s new taxation levels made the French league good value for money but it’s been above all expectations.

Who’ll be going to fund it all? Well we needed fresh faces in the summer but didn’t achieve it and the squad’s now getting a major kick up the jaxy. Considering the expenditure so far (very little) I don’t think we’ll need much outgoings but if and it’s a big IF we buy a much needed striker or lose Colo, there may still be other outgoings.

No big deal on the face of it but obviously would depend on who’d be earmarked for leaving.

Who in their right mind would want to leave at the minute? ;-)

  • 446 Ketsbaia9 // Jan 24, 2013 at 5:26 PM

Not sure about Goufrran. We definitely need to add at least another striker to the ranks and sort the Coloccini situation out. We’re getting there though.

Hoping we hang onto all of our current first team players now.

Very pleased with the window so far.

This will spell the end with having to feild. Ranger, Tavenier, ferguson, abeid, sammy, perch, bigi, williamson.

I do rate bigi and perch and ferguson. As squad players, or as for the future. But they are not the finished article as yet. The rest should be out on loan. Perch has done very well but I think at NUFC we should have better quality. Useful squad player. Im the same mould as Ryan Taylor.

Our 1st eleven and bench will be a lot stronger now. Thank god it’s being rectified.

Confidence will be through the roof at the club at the minute i’d imagine.

Good times, I predicted 3 weeks ago when I joined the blog that I thought the tables would turn in around 4-6 weeks. With our 1st eleven back and new faces brought in.

Watch us get up this league starting in the next few weeks ;)

Jeeeez, we could actually WIN the Europa League with the squad we have… If they’re all eligible?

With all this talk about “too many french players” coming in, why not grab Danny Graham while we can too? Certainly is an upgrade from Shola.

    So who loses?

I say: Perch, Ferguson, Obertan, Simpson. These four are most likely done at Newcastle after this season.

Lukes, not young fergie, he still has the most assists from crosses this season for thew toon, hes a good kid hes just been frozen out by pardew, easy option for him.

    Lukes,

Ranger will hopefully be shown the door if anyone wants him.

Fergie will have the chance to go out on loan, hopefully with abeid and tavenier, and sammy.

Keep bigi around the 1st team.

Haidara is official now according to skysports.

Sissoko is on his way to Newcastle now according to skysports also.

Mathie debuchy, mabou yanga – mbiwa, gouffran, haidara and sissoko.
1 out in the form of demba ba and perhaps wolfswinkel could come in as well. Absolutely fantastic just what we need during some hard time at nufc. Thank you mile Ashley for once splashing the cash although it is under 20 million. Bargains!
