le10Sports is reporting that Newcastle have signed Moussa Sissoko to a permanent deal at Newcastle for €2.5M, which is about £2M.
Moussa Sissoko – a done deal?
Here’s the translation of the le10 report:
As we revealed earlier this week, Moussa Sissoko has reached an agreement with the English club Newcastle. And according to our information, the player will join the Magpies this winter.
The two clubs have reached an agreement to €2.5 million for the transfer of the player.” Dismissed by the professional group president Olivier Sadran, Moussa Sissoko had to make some serious efforts in order to resolve the situation this winter.”
He will leave Toulouse now and not next June when his contract with TFC should end, the player has in effect agreed to forgo his signing bonus.” Moussa Sissoko will commit to a five and a half years.”
This is breaking news – but great news for Newcastle United – and we would think this report is very close to the truth.
Moussa will be another great signing for the club.

Don’t ge ahead of your self
All this is great news and gives a better outlook than a few days ago when I tramped despondently away from sjp but we have it all to do and we do like it or not still have a shit manager
I am now thinking we will be safe but it’s going to be a battle

He only spends to protect his own investment.
If he’d done this in the summer, when we had upwards momentum as a club … then you might have a point.

Comment #84Bench should be more solid now. Harper
Staylor, Perch and haidara players who’d tighten things up if needed
Jonas,Ameobi and obertan are all last 15-20 min players who, on their day will change things in attack for us. Better than using 17yo welsh kids to time waste!

Comment #87It amazes me that people say the amount of French players we now have will cause issues in the dressing room, can’t remember it causing an issue with Arsenal

Comment #88Yeah all these reports saying there will be clashes and cliques in the dressing room. I understand where they’re coming from but that didn’t happen at Arsenal did it? As mentioned most of our players are French speakers anyway lol The only problem I can see is that Pardew our manager knows no French from what I know and neither do our coaches so that will be interesting. Maybe we will have Bernard as interpreter shouting out the instructions and Cabaye and co helping them out when it’s said in English.
I would love to see Gamiero, Doumbia or Wilfried Bony here after Sissoko.

Comment #89sissoko is the player I really want, he will add power to our midfield, he is very good and this will allow cabaye and hba to do their stuff.
just need another forward now and then we can progress up the table.

Comment #96Billson @ 3 – Much as I am gobsmacked and totally excited by all this sudden transfer activity from Ashley I have to agree with Transfer Sage @ 12 and Talentet @ 41.
If this is a new thinking, ambitious Ashley, well bring it on, but I have my doubts that it has only been brought about by the thoughts of not having all that lovely money coming into the Premier League next season.
My suspicious mind says that Simpson, Colo, Santon and Tiote will all be gone for big money in the summer if not before and he will be saying in the next window “You had you’re signings in January – that’s all you’re going to get folks!”
Ie no real strengthening of the squad in numbers and no real ambition to take the club further.
If he had got some of these signings in, in the last window, especially Mbia and Sissoko, we could have been sitting really pretty by now.
The next window will be the test of whether Ashley wants to be ambitious – not now.
Until then, however, I’m buzzing about all these transfers in. Let’s just hope Pardew is good enough to utilise them properly and keep us up.

Comment #99You’re all wrong! Ashley didn’t give a damn abou the club but he’s suddenly found his get up and go again after meeting a new lass called Rebecca. He knew she was keen from day one as she kept following so it is in fact Rebecca the Newcastle fan we have to thank.
Joking aside. I still think we’re a little worse off up top but have strengthened the Defense. If sissoko and another striker comes in I will be truly amazed at this window and what the club have done to help
Avoid relegation. At the moment I’m thankful but hoping for more whilst the irons hot, hopefully nobody leaves without enough time to replace them.

Comment #105Ibiza – lol Let’s hoe this has been Pardew’s plan all along. To buy quality Frenchies with good attitude, young with good re-sale value-, players that can improve the team and become the backbone for our future success and players that like to play along the deck in his favoured 4-3-3 formation. Maybe the reason we were hoofing it about is because players like Willo, Simmo and Gutierrez don’t know how to pass along the ground as they aren’t good enough.
Maybe hopefully with these players now on board it will push players like them and Shola down to the bench or even further down. We can’t depend on them to save us when they can hardly make it into our team.

Comment #106I agree nick… we still need that 15-20 goal a season striker – strange how pards said it was THE priority when we lost Ba, now we’ve signed everyone but – still a few days to go so here’s hoping. Chuffed with the other signings – esp Debuchy, Mbiwa and Sissoko if it comes off.

I’ve just had a brainwave!!
For the first time since KK & SBR we have 10 outfield players who are all comfortable with the ball. They are largely continental players, so rather than trying to convert these foreign players to adapt to playing the typical English style, we should change our playing style to suit the players we now have. With these players we should be able to dominate possession & control games. Let’s go for a Barca style team with HBA as our Messi. Outfield team & formation as follows:
Debuchie MYM Colo Santon
Goufrann Cabaye Sousokko Anita Marveau
Ben Arfa
Sell the players who are weak in possession: Williamson, Simpson, Ameobie’s, Tiote, Obertan, Jonas, & buy young players who are comfortable with the ball and change the playing system throughout the Club to the same style.
Finally, I never thought I’d say this but, many thanks to Mike Ashley

Comment #117My ball boy story involves Danny Simpson. Last season at one of my least favourite grounds Stoke. Ba hat trick in a 3-1 victory – yes we did win away ! You’ll remember Stoke used to use towels to dry the ball
for Delap long throws. More importantly though it was a blatant ploy to waste time when Stoke were winning. The ball boys had a ritual to waste time with impunity. With the toon bossing the game and in front Simpson repeatedly called for the towel before taking a throw in and this was picked up by Raylor as well. The home fans really lost it and started giving the ball boys stick. Thoroughly entertaining and a great
away trip. Reminds me how Pardew had a defence that looked weak on paper playing so well. We can look forward with optimism with every signing player. Let the good times roll.
