Newcastle United are interested in young Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who at 17 years old has already played eight times for the PSG first team.
Adrian Rabiot – Newcastle interested
Newcastle are always on the look out for top young talent, but as yet the Tyneside club having unearthed any real top stars who the club have signed as youngsters, although 19 year-old Gael Bigirmana, signed from Coventry for just £1M in the summer, looks like a bog star of the future.
Newcastle have brought in a number of senior players in January already, and they are also looking to add some top young talent to the squad, and news last week that owner Mike Ashley had given the Newcastle Board a transfer fund to bring in up to 10 players before September.
Rabiot stands 6’2″ tall already, and he was given his PSG in the Champions League against Dynamo Zagreb by coach former Chelsea and Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, and he has played for all the French Youth sides up to U19 level – and he seems a top midfield talent – and one for the future.
The 17 year-old would like to play more games, and certainly we wouldn’t be at all surprised if Newcastle are interested in signing this player – and add to our Development squad – which will be pruned of those players who have not made the grade at Newcastle.
Rabiot was at various clubs before joining PSG in 2010, and he was at Manchester City for a while in 2008, but that was before City were taken over by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, who seems to have given up on Manchester City’s once fantastic Youth Policy – in favor of signing the finished product for lots of money.
Newcastle are still making a big investment in youth – and Adrien Rabiot seems to fit into the profile of young players Newcastle would like to sign.
