Newcastle Target To Remain In France Until The Summer

12:48 am, Saturday, January 26th, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 114 Comments

We had reported yesterday morning that Newcastle had made a bid of €3M for Bastia’s top French midfielder Florian Thauvin, and the Bastia Chairman had promised a quick response to Newcastle’s bid, and he’s given it and says the club have turned down the  offer,  and the 19 year-old will now stay in France until the summer.

Florian Thauvin – straying at Bastia until the summer

This is the translation of the piece in L’Equipe today:

Coveted by Lille , Newcastle and Arsenal , Florian Thauvin will remain in Corsica until the end of the season.

This is what Marie-Pierre Geronimi, the President of Basta had to say:

“Florian Thauvin has had one concrete offer from the English Newcastle up to 3 million euros, which we refused.” “However, he did not wish to extend his contract with the club Bastia,”

The  Bastia striker, 19, is under contract until 2014.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle go back in with an increased offer, or whether they will leave this lad until the summer, but Arsenal are also very interested in the player – and the deal was if Newcastle signed him he would be allowed to be loaned back to Bastia for the remainder of the season.

If Newcastle don’t sign this lad this month- we hope we are set up to bring him in during the summer.

Comments welcome.

I see Rebecca is still available. I wonder if Ashley might be persuaded?

  • 4 Tinman // Jan 26, 2013 at 12:53 AM

On Haidara, he has been French international at all the youth levels up to 21 so should be decent. Would be very difficult for him to have got a early call up when Cliche and Evra were in the full squad. I am very optomistic with him. I can see Haidara being 1st choice LB next season with Santon LW. Anyone agree?

Gouffran will add pace, despite what he says doubt he will score as much as Ba…

Sissoko and Mbiwa, havent seen either play much but I have heard rave reviews about them for months from numerous guys on here and they have been on loads of peoples ‘sign these please’ lists.

I hope the fans who go down to Villa show Ashley our support.

I’m living a dream. I started this window feeling depressed, prepared to divorce myself from my life long love affair with Newcastle United.
Now I feel invigorated, like our relationship had just begun.
Just goes to show, you should never and I mean never give up on what means the most.
    I’ve learned my lesson.

  • 6 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:05 AM

I find it absolutely laughable that some people (mostly on DailyMail Comments) can call our acquisitions this month ‘Panic buying’.

The last time I checked, Panic buying was when you payed over the top for a player and/or offered them ridiculous wages to sign for you. I.e Remy as a prime example of the latter.

The majority of our buyings this window have been for a bargain, considering their talent/potential in comparison to the fee’s we would have been quoted for English players of lower/equal talent and potential.

Wilfred Zaha : 15million. A young player with potential.

    Sissoko -2mill
    Debuchy 5mill
    Mbiwa 6.7mill
    Gouffran 2mill
    Haidara 2.5mill

    Total: 18.2million
Subtract: 5 million from the sale of Ba
    Total spent: 13.2 million
    3 French Internationals
1 Under 21 french highly rated left back
    1 Pacy striker/winger

Thats 1.8million cheaper then 1 highly rated under 21 English lad. Clearly something is wrong when 1 under 21 english player cost’s more then 3 full internationals.

    @~Anita
You also have to look at the wages commitment, +/- he saved half a season over buying in the summer,

  • 8 archaeomag // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:17 AM

MA consistantly out performs fans’ expectations because he learns from his mistakes.

  • 9 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:35 AM

Archaeomag…Do you have a hair report yet on our new signings? Looks like we may lose Colos mop this summer, does Carr know what to be looking for?

Can’t believe Sissoko has arrived. Madness.

    Proud
As an ITK again your passing stuff off as a FACT. You are IMO playing a dangerous game as many people do not suffer fools gladly. Now I am not going to question you but would suggest for you to tread very carefully about the unveiling of a striker at the Chelsea game….my reason for saying this is that this fixture is on the 2nd February and the window ends officially in January. I think whoever is passing you information is either mis-informed or they are hanging you out to dry. I think it would be best for you to join the forum and talk about our club, and if you do hear something….then you should caveat it. I must confess I was disappointed about the Remy saga when you posted something as a FACT. And sadly you seem to be approaching doing that again. My suggestion to you would be not to post things as FACTS cos’ its highly irritating. Sorry for the rant just some friendly advise.

  • 11 archaeomag // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:46 AM

    @Ibiza
A lot of hard tackling Tiote cuts – not impressed, Rippy Van Winklestien and Bang don’t live up to their names – but pleased to linked with Adrien Rabiot splendid mop …
but having Col back is like a new signing.

  • 12 archaeomag // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:48 AM

*Bong – although I would sign Bang

Think Sissoko is the biggest signing since Shearer. It has the same volume of gravity. This lad is gonna be a legend and I truly believe that next season we will have a shot at something…..just need to see this season out and get survival! HWTL

  • 14 geordiejamie89 // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:51 AM

What is Arshole Wenger rambling on about. The January transfer window should be shut because it is not fair??
It’s open to all clubs, so how is it unfair?
This coming from a manager who has the ability to outbid most other clubs, and offer higher wages.
I hope Newcastle steal the CL spot from Arsenal next season.
I think Newcastle are working towards that, despite where they are now. If Newcastle can establish themselves in the Champions League, then Newcastle will eventually be in a place where they can compete for even better players. Newcastle’s new five year plan should be two CL spots, and a domestic cup trophy. It’s not too many signings away from being possible now.

  • 15 Unbelievable Tekkers // Jan 26, 2013 at 1:53 AM

As much as I am excited I do think people are putting way too much pressure on Sissoko.

  • 16 89Norcal // Jan 26, 2013 at 2:00 AM

    geordiejamie

I think ARSEne is just frustrated we’re swooping his countrymen before he can even identify them. Really silly comments by him especially considering our lack of activity last window.

Anyways what’s Bastia’s problem, they’re going to get Thauvin back immediately on a loan; they must be enchanted by all the interest and want to keep hold

  • 17 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Jan 26, 2013 at 2:14 AM

Wenger is just throwing a Tantrum. If anything, things are more in favor of Arsenal, given their position in the league, their spending power and the fact that they are top 4.

If everything was fair, each club should have an equal chance of signing any player, as it is now things should logically be in favor of the bigger clubs. The fact that Newcastle can identify and attract the players they have brought in over the last couple of seasons for pretty much peanuts considering the price of English players is nothing short of good business, thanks to a well organized and well led scouting system.

Not to mention those doing the negotiating must be smooth talkers to convince the lads to put pen to paper. The only downside is that we lacked Fifa 12 at the grounds.

    Yeah.

Colo can suck a fat one.

Great player, shite captain and doesn’t talk to his club’s fans but thanks the San Lorenzo fans?

    FECK OFF

  • 20 Kc-Toon // Jan 26, 2013 at 3:24 AM

    @pizzicatochan
I read that earlier and couldnt believe it. To think he would come out in public to the fans of san lorenzo, before newcastle fans, when hes newcastle’s captain ! I cant see him having any respect in the dressing room or on the pitch anymore, so strip the captaincy off him, and give it to someone who has a bit of passion for the club.

  • 22 manxpie // Jan 26, 2013 at 3:31 AM

PIZZICATOCHAN how about a statement to us his own fans!!
it’s a joke really he should be stripped of the captains armband after making a statement like that if it’s true!!
but thats the problem, his silence to us the fans that have supported and payed his wages for 5 years haven’t heard a thing from him HE NEEDS TO TELL US WHAT THE FAACK IS HAPPENING!!!! captain my arse!!!!

  • 23 valle // Jan 26, 2013 at 3:34 AM

So we just assume its true because it appeared on some dodgy website?… That said, his father is the one who have behaved the worst in all of this and cant in any possible way be a good role-model for his son. To think he would try and influence him to come to his small time club at this stage of his career seems very selfish and not in his sons interrest at all, he seems prepared to milk Colo to look after his own interrest! I still think that for Colo, this is all about his wife and children leaving him for argentina, he miss them and i can certainly relate to that.

  • 24 manxpie // Jan 26, 2013 at 3:49 AM

valle all collo has to do is let us fans know wats goin on it’s not hard he can even let his lawyers do his statement!
but there’s been nothing from our CAPTAIN and thats an insult he should definatly be stripped of the captaincy after that letter unless it’s not true but if it wasn’t i’d expect a statement telling us it wasn’t!

Haven’t been this excited since the window we brought in the likes of Cabaye etc.

  • 33 89Norcal // Jan 26, 2013 at 6:32 AM

Yeah what’s the deal, blog seems dead last few hours. Everyone must either be partying or recovering right now :)

I’m glad Colo’s situation is sorted out. Tbh if the “personal problems” were his own doing, he has to man up to his mistakes and his responsibilities. He can’t expect us to give him away because his wife is mad he cheated on her.

And I’m curious how our set up would be with PEA or another new striker. Is Gouffran going to be a back up? I hope we don’t bench him now because he seems high on confidence and was scoring in France.

  • 34 89Norcal // Jan 26, 2013 at 6:33 AM

Oh just saw we abandoned talks with PEA. Siem de Jong seems like a longshot, maybe this Ricky Wolf guy will do.

Just got in from night shift and going to bed soon but have been reading through the hysteria and everyone seems a lot more upbeat as the should. This has been a fantastic week not just the extra players but the quality of them, that in its self will be a major boost and has created good selection problems ! If our business is done then great we have enough now to beat the drop but a top striker/winger would be amazing ! TOON TOON :-)

  • 39 pizzicatochan // Jan 26, 2013 at 6:48 AM

Just to mind you, Jimmy Kebe is 29 already. He’s not required.

  • 40 Marty-Toon // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:17 AM

Sissoko and Mbiwa are 2 insane signings and didn’t think we could get them in to the Toon but we did along with Debuchy who looks very good and Gouffran could be a real threat…..oh Happy Days

  • 41 geordiejamie89 // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:25 AM

I hope it’s not over, aubameyang would be fantastic. He’s a real all round threat. He’s rapid, he’s agile and a good poacher. He is probably one of the fastest strikers around. For those of you who don’t know him, imagine Theo Walcott, with the shooting ability of Cisse and the neat finishing of Defoe. He is class. If Newcastle sign him I’ll buy an extra shirt so I can have his name on my back. I haven’t done that for a striker since Shearer!

  • 42 NUFC_LEAZES END // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:28 AM

a wish someone commented on jimmy kebe’s tweet saying you have to be French but u also have to have basic quality which he does not have aand hes at his peak of his career. so I don’t know who he think he is trying to mug us off

  • 43 geordiejamie89 // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:29 AM

With the signings we’ve just made, and with no european competition this season, if we signed aubameyang he would get 20 plus goals next season. Add to that a brace from Cisse, and Guffran, and hopefully more threat going forward thanks to our new signings ie debuchy, I think that’s enough for a CL place.
We’re just a striker and perhaps a left winger away from that now. (That doesn’t include replacing Coloccini, which wont be easy).

I would disregard the Colo letter as promises may have been made by his father and the club to San Lorenzo, putting Colo in a very difficult position.

You also have to remember the Latin mentality, culture and values are totally different to ours and having dealt with Latin Americans I can see very little wrong with his letter taking into consideration the politics involved.

The fact that he is staying speaks volumes and providing he is professional on the pitch we should not be questioning his ethics as he is a totally different character to BA who came to Newcastle with the sole intention of using the club as a stepping stone to further his own financial ambitions.

As for the new signings, it was always going to happen as Ashley could not allow the club to go down due to the revenue we would lose. The quality of the players signed should not surprise anybody as Ashley by signing the players at a cut cost has played a very clever game of insuring against any loses because with the exception of Gouffran he will make a large profit if he sells the players on in 1-2 years time to a bigger club.

Given Gouffran’s age and the fact that we paid for him, I wouldn’t be surprised if like Marvaux he turns out to be a very good player as Carr will have done his homework.

One thing we need to remember is to be patient as these players will need a little time to settle in.

Here’s looking forward to Tuesday night

  • 54 89Norcal // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:45 AM

A loss vs Villa would be unspeakable, not after their horrid displays over the last 2 weeks.

Hopefully Mbiwa copes with the pressure, because I always worry about Agbonlawhore. I think we have too much quality now to lose or even draw that game.

  • 55 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:47 AM

Morning gents. How are we all feeling today!!

Sissoko and Mbiwa – IN ONE WEEK !!?!

Amazing! And let’s now underestimate Gouffran and Haidara!

Now just a forward to come in and we can close for business! :-)

  • 56 geordie1892 // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:53 AM

I’ve supported colo through all of this but his letter to san lorenzo has really annoyed me. To be honest its disgusting the way he has acted and in truth has shown a total lack of respect for us paying fans. He is the club captain ffs and he’s sending thank you letters to another club for trying to poach him when we are in a relegation dog fight.

The image of him being a model pro seem way off the mark. His head and heart clearly are in Argentina so for the first time and can’t believe I’m saying this as colo was one of my favourites but think he should give up the armband!

  • 58 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:55 AM

    89Norcal
I know Villa have been poor in the cups but if anyone saw them the first half against West Brom then we will be in for a fight – passed and moved forward with great speed. Second half when under pressure they buckled but still could of won on the counter attack.

  • 59 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:58 AM

Geordie – Morning mate. I’m still confident on RVW but the talk around here just now is that it’s not necessarily a ‘striker’ we are after but a ‘forward’.

Stories around Siem De Jong are picking up pace. I personally feel if we can’t agree suitable terms with RVW, we will pick up an attacking forward, a big name, and in the summer go back for PEA who won’t arrive this window.

  • 60 89Norcal // Jan 26, 2013 at 7:58 AM

    Charlie
That’s what I’m afraid of, most lower teams we’ve played have had more desire to win. I really REALLY hope Saylor is fit to start with Mbiwa because I already know Willo will make major mistakes like he does every single game.

Really our midfield has been decent save for when we boot it as soon as we enter the final third. When we concede our team is deflated, so some solidarity at the back will help.

My feelings too – we need more desire want to/got to win attitude
And when we go behind or the opposition equalisers start hoofing the ball long.

Lets get the defence and attack up to speed then we’ll stay up

  • 63 Sir Braveheart // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:09 AM

Morning all. Discussion time – the Europa League.

    Heres the official rules:

18.18 For all matches from the start of the round of 32, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registration must be completed by 1 February 2013.

18.19 One player from the above quota of three who has been fielded in a UEFA club competition group stage match for another club in the current season may exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded:
    a) in the same competition for another club; or
    b) for another club that is currently in the same competition.

So basically Gouffran is out as he played in Europa League already. Sissoko and Haidario are eligible as they havent played in Europe. Hoewever we can only register EITHER Debuchy OR Mbiwa, not both, as they both played in Champs League and neither club dropped down to Europa.

So boys and girls, Debuchy or Mbiwa?

Id be tempted to say Mbiwa if he settles, but the concern is cover at right back if Debuchy doesnt play with Simmo injured. Unless Santon RB and Haiducken LB?

  • 64 hadthetshirt // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:09 AM

Arsehole Whinger is just jealous that were buying more of his country men than him and our chief scout is doing better job than his.If it’s not fair say ok teams can only spend 20 million in winter, thats 1 player for Man U,1/2 a player for chelski and city, and 5 Cracking players for us :)

as for the Colo letter why are people getting upset over it.Are you sure he wrote it,as this guy isn’t here, link below,as the signature is different from his.Wait till you know for sure before slagging him off AGAIN.

  • 66 89Norcal // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:14 AM

    Charlie – Agreed

    Sir Braveheart
That is a tough decision, because I’d equally prefer having those two fresh for PL games ( so rest during EL games) but we’d probably want Mbiwa in EL if we want any chance of progressing (or avoiding embarassment :)).

If simmo stays we can just use him for EL. Tav has been less than impressive at RB but at this point we aren’t highly focused on Europe.

  • 67 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:14 AM

Brave heart – I would say, as long as he settles which I’m sure he will, select Yanga. Options for RB we have Simmo (…I know, I know!), switching sant’s over and also playing Anita there. Plus Jonas has played there for Argentina in the past.

Whereas our options for CB without Mbiwa are colo, willo and perch.

  • 68 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:15 AM

    Tiote Sissoko
    Gouffran Cabaye Benny
    Cisse

    That team is really unbelieveable!

  • 70 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:24 AM

@SPREAD – What is the latest news via proud? What did i miss? New striker before the Chelsea game?

  • 71 Sir Braveheart // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:27 AM

So Sissoko, Mbiwa and Haidario as our 3 registrations gives the spine of the team a huge boost. Beat the next 4 teams in the competition and we’re in the final, and although Metalist wont be easy, if we can get a draw there and bring it back to St James Park we can have them.

8 games from the Europa League final. Thats a nice thought for the morning.

  • 72 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:29 AM

Braveheart – I’m not sure, but don’t we play Metalist at home in the 1st leg as we weren’t seeded? So if we can get the job done in the 1st leg, we can go there and battle it out without needing to go gung ho.

  • 73 toonarmydownsouth // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:36 AM

Hope for colo’s sake he makes a statement and does it soon, looking at twitter and othe blogs etc. that letter ,real ir not, has really got the fans turning quickly
Remember colo toon fans will only respect and support you until you stop respecting them….

  • 74 Readingmag // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:37 AM

Showing my age now …..can any one remember the half Brazil half Toon tops when we had Mirandinha.

Must be a market for half french !

  • 75 proudtobageordie // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:43 AM

    Torq
Spread got on his high horse again. Skunk I mentioned a striker for villa all I said was a striker will be in for Chelsea
.this is just my opinion as we still haven’t replaced ba and that is more important than any other signing we have brought in to date. The I.t.k reared its ugly head again when actually it was an opinion

  • 76 NUFC_LEAZES END // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:44 AM

just found a video of loads of clips put together for one video of our transfer targets just incase yous haven’t seen them in action :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkbEcOEIwRc

  • 77 nufc1984 // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:46 AM

Just been looking on the castrol rating system to see how our new players rank against what we currently have. And it makes for interesting reading. Mbiwa is over 400 places higher in the rankings than any of our cb’s. haidara is 60 places better off than santon. Our only mf higher on list than sissoko is cabaye and finally gouffran is ranked 106 compared to shola at 1100 And cisse at 160. All in all there’s a dramatic improvement in class. Oh and debuchy is obviously light years ahead of simmo!!

    found this on twitter, hilarious
“BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle have a bid rejected for the Eiffel Tower. #NUFC #France”

  • 80 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:53 AM

Proud – Oh I see. Well maybe things just got lost in translation. Wasn’t that you said it would DEFINITELY happen – but if it was more of your opinion on what could/should happen then can’t see the problem.

Spread is a decent bloke and talks a lot of sense, as do YOU, my friend. So I’m sure it was just miscommunication.

By the way, nice words by Pards regards our signings. States he’s not concerned by where they come from, that they all will learn English ASAP and that the ONLY language spoken on the football pitch is English. I like the man management of that bloke. Really one of the best around imo.

  • 81 geordiefromthemidlands // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:55 AM

    Cheers torq mate.
I thought GKN France said we were done for the window. Id be happy if we finish now but a cheeky forward would be excellent.

  • 82 northernirishtoon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:55 AM

    Morning lads

Haven’t read the posts so forgive me if this has already been talked about but what did everyone think of collocinis letter to San Lorenzo

Would of been nice to write something to the toon fans.

I’ve looked at a few translations and I have to say I’ve lost a little respect for the man

I understand we need him big time and how influential he is but no one in else in the squad would of got away with these recent actions and still manage to keep the captaincy

I think the have been a bit hypocritical here and not stuck to the principles that have served them so well

  • 83 seantoon // Jan 26, 2013 at 8:57 AM

I can still see pardew fielding this team against villa

    Krul
    Debuchy. Williamson. Colo. santon
    Perch
    Anita. Cabaye
    Sholo. Marveaux
    Cisse.

    I’d be gutted

    northernirishtoon @81
I saw an article earlier today comparing Colo’s official signature and the one on the letter he supposedly wrote… there are absolutely no similarities between the two, so I’m expecting a statement from him today… I don’t think he really wrote that

Wouldn’t want to be in Pardew’s shoes right now

If the exctiement and expectation on this blog is anything to go by, the fans will be expecting nothing less than win despite the fact these players need to gel and be ready to play, god help him if he doesn’t play any of them.

Having said that he’s partly the reason where in this position

  • 95 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 9:12 AM

Geordie – GFN are very very good with the accuracy of their reports – but they cover all things French so maybe as far as the FRENCH side goes – we are done – but RVW plays in holland so maybe they didn’t mean him. But who knows…! :-)

Proud – I won’t even bother looking back mate. I’m sure it’s just a loss in communication and anyway – doesn’t seem a big deal. It’s happy times on the blog and you two lads are reasonable people and valuable to the blog.

  • 96 fray bentos // Jan 26, 2013 at 9:12 AM

  • 101 geordiesteve520 // Jan 26, 2013 at 9:21 AM

Wow, what a trasfer window we have had so far…this is why it pains me to break the news. We are about to be completely blown out of the water bu Sunderland who are about to make the biggest signing of this, or any other transfer window for that matter. It destroys my sole to admit this but I am jealous of them, they are about to announce the signing, from under our noses as well, of none other that Paul Scharner! I know, I know, we might well recover from this but, we won’t, woe is me, we’re doomed and all that bcollcks!

  • 102 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 9:22 AM

“Newcastle stood still in terms of transfers at the start of this season, and now they seem like they may have to throw money at everyone’s second choice transfer targets. That doesn’t seem like good business strategy…”

Quote from Journo – Paul Holland

Everybody’s SECOND CHOICE targets??? What a clown!

  • 103 TorqToon // Jan 26, 2013 at 9:23 AM

The following comment seemed like no more than a pipe dream when we read it, but less than a fortnight later, the pursuits have been successful – fair play to somebody!

    Alan Pardew, Saturday January 12th

“We are not pursuing just one player, it’s three or four, and they all seem to be warming up a little bit. We need a bigger pool of players and we will try to deal with that in this window.”

Coloccini penned a lengthy open letter to fans of San Lorenzo in which he claimed he was homesick and thanked the club for trying to sign him.

“To my San Lorencista family,” the letter read.

“I write these lines from a long way away where I am missing my country, my family and my close ones. And with sadness of knowing that after a series of meetings held here in Newcastle that my return to Argentina has been momentarily suspended.

“Unfortunately, life does not always end up like you wanted it or needed it to, many times is it influenced by third parties and the rigidities of contracts that are stronger than the will of one’s own desires.

“However, I am convinced that this moment of disappointment need not be an obstacle for me to declare my profound gratitude to each and every one of you for the affection and the support that you all have provided me during these past few months, in every way imaginable.

“Furthermore, I wish to acknowledge the patience and the respect of the media and the serious manner in which they conducted everything during this time for me and my family.

“I am sure that they have understood the personal situation that I have been going through and can comprehend that the silence maintained for both me and my representative, Marcelo Lombilla, during this time, has not been capricious but due to the need to keep private certain matters.

“Lastly, I wish to thank the authorities at San Lorenzo del Almagro and especially show my gratitude to the president, Dr Matias Lammens and vice president, Mr Marcelo Tinelli, for all the affection, support and understanding they have afforded me and who from the first moment, without any reservations or conditions, were interested in my personal and family situation and who put themselves at my disposal.

“Essentially, I want to thank the enormous effort made by them, from every point of view, to remove whatever difficulties I may have come in touch with.

“In these times, in which the leadership of the Argentine football appears less challenged by various reasons, it is with deep pride – as part of the San Lorenzo family- I wish to acknowledge to Matias Lammens and Marcelo Tinelli on their personal qualities, for their professional qualities and for their excellent management, their the honest work, their seriousness and commitment in placing the human being over and above other interests, all of which is a heading from the chosen path for our club; and that in the distance, certainly, I am filled with satisfaction.

“Sincerely thank you for affection, Fabricio Coloccini.”

  • 114 Rowan Milsted // Jan 26, 2013 at 9:54 AM

If they are resigned to losing him in the summer, and we’re happy to loan him back til the end of the season, then I don’t really see the problem. Still, you can’t have it all I guess! Hopefully we’ll sort something out but Arsenal will probably come a-sniffing now.

More good news – Fergie winging and Wenger throwing his toys out his pram ’cause we’ve totally out manuevered him this window. Brilliant!
