Newcastle could be after four different strikers this week – so given the approximate transfer fee of each of the following four strikers – which one would you like to see at Newcastle before the end of this month?
I didn’t put Lionel Messi down – because I thought he’d be a little too expensive.

I think it was Lee Croft and that Baxter who slipped on his free kick.

Comment #83I think that PEA wuld be the best signing to make as he will fit in to our team although he would cost atleast £17mill. Bony is beast and tbh we will probably get him. the other 2 are shite. im happy wit PEA or Bony….

Comment #84Stop the stupid speculation. You’ll all get melodramatic when we don’t buy a striker. Be thankful for what we’ve got. This blog is an embarrassment at times.

I think it’s a big change in shape which would be difficult to implement without mistakes mid season.
Man city had a lot of problems swapping between 3/5 at the back and a standard 4.
I’d like to see us got 4231…..solid but plenty to create as well

PEA will cost over the odds due to all the interest in him, bony would be best played as a loan striker so wouldn’t fit with the new dynamics the team are trying to move towards, readings finest – ISN’T readings finest so an easy no to him…
If you are looking at a perfect match for what Newcastle are trying to do, a player to become a fluid part of the team, somebody who compliments Cisse, HBA, Gouffran etc…
It HAS to be RVW – who I STILL feel is a massive possibility to arrive this week!!! 🙂

Comment #92After their match today Aubamayang is again saying he wants to finish the season at St. Etienne. So he now looks a non starter. Link:-

Comment #96Tads that’s exactly it, I’m not being critical of him but more so worrying about the worst case scenario. Any fans wants to see him banging them in.
Given the players we have now we can field a strong midfield with Anita, cabaye, sissoko, gouffran and obertan. Once Ben Arfa and tiote are back that’s when the real competition starts. Heck even obertan might do well as an impact sub if sissoko and gouffran are supporting.

I would like to see Pards adopt a defensive two in tiote/Anita and sissoko with an attacking free infront chosen between Arfa, cabaye, marveaux, gouffran and then cisse up top alone. Would love to see a diamond at some point with Benny playing central.

Comment #99No one is coming in now imo so no point voting these may be summer targets but we will probably end up going for minimal spend on prospects again
But we had a hell of window tbf should be enough to stave off relegation which was the aim I’d imagine

Comment #100Sporting is playing right now and rvw has started the game however the manager ( j. Ferreira) is surprisingly open to the possibility of rvw leaving. He said before the game that rvw “has market” and if they sell him the will get a replacement before the end of he window. This is very surprising as rvw is sporting’s only real striker and they are struggling this season. What this space, I guess…

Comment #106We have spent around 18m on players during this window does any one really believe MA will spend 12m on 1 player?
MA has never spent that on 1 player, let alone after just buyin 5 players.

Comment #107Yo – Many people said that when I first mentioned Sissoko, mate! 🙂
I can just see MA keeping half an eye on things, and if the player becomes available at the right price – I think we will be in.
But if nobody else comes in or out this window surely there can’t be ANYBODY with any complaints! It’s been fantastic!

Comment #109Geordiefromthemidlands – I’ve heard nothing regards Newcastle united in France even since we announced Sissoko so I’m led to believe our business over there is done.
However kinda feel we are keeping irons in the fire elsewhere in Europe.

Comment #110RVW would be my choice, but i’d rather Siem de Jong who’d be my first preference along with Florian Thauvin playing out on the flanks. Still feel Siem is not done n dusted. Just a feeling. So either RVW n SDJ .

Comment #112WWYCD is right, there’ll be no more. We’ll do well with what we have, and I’m not worried about the additional striker. We’ve added goals with a couple of the incomings and if Cisse comes on form we’ll be sorted.
In any case, there’ll be no struggle now in terms of goals imo.

Comment #113You won’t submit my comments. I bit my tongue – said ‘this blog is an embarrassment AT TIMES’. I wanted to say ‘This blog is just an embarrassment.’ All Geordies i know feel the same. I’m sorry. You look at sites like Caughtoffside or Goal or whatever – you do know they just make stuff up, don’t you? Then you copy and paste from somewhere in America. I admire your passion for NUFC, but that is diminished my your overriding desire for hits. This is a nonsense. It’s for kids.

Comment #120So potentially if we are keeping an eye on the market, logically our recent buys have been from france or holland and one from bundesliga. So if france is done. Then de jong looks feasible. Would we break the current pattern and dip into the Portuguese league for rvw.
If it is those two rvw or siem de jong ? Preference?
