Sissoko And Gouffran Both Start

aston villa

Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran both make their starting Newcastle debuts tonight at Villa Park for Newcastle.

New boy Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is on the bench and of course Mathieu Debuchy also starts for Newcastle in this crucial relegation 6 pointer.

As expected,  Steven Taylor joins Coloccini in central defense for the Magpies and Mike Williamson is on the bench.

Aldo on the bench are the Ameobi brothers, Steve Harper, Vurnon Anita and promising teenager Gael Bigirimana.

Missing from the squad are Sylvain Marveaux and Gabby Obertan – and apparently Sylvain is carrying a slight knock – but should be fit for Chelsea on Saturday.

We need a win tonight.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Aston Villa – tba

Newcastle United (4-2-3-1): Tim Krul; Mathieu Debuchy, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Davide Santon; James Perch, Yohan Cabaye; Yoan Gouffran, Moussa Sissoko, Jonas Gutierrez; Papiss Cisse
Substitutes: Steve Harper, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Mike Williamson, Gael Bigirimana, Vurnon Anita, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi

Depardew proves yet again that Jonas is undroppable. What has Anita done to be on the bench? Been our Man of the Match for 3 matches running.

Don’t care how we play tonight….JUST WIN

Cant believe Mbiwa is not starting!!!

Marveux is injured so that makes that decision a lot easier Anita probably could do with a rest mind you as he has played a lot of football recently for us

    Its crucial we score 1st

Anita could make a good impact sub guys. I’m hoping for big things from sissoko and gouffran. If they’re starting it shows they’ve made an impression

Im calling it now, we have lost this 3-1 the players will turn against Pardew Im telling you, no pace on the bench, a non match fit Saylor when Pardew recently started Ben Arfa and thats the reason hes been out for over 2 months now. He will have to go for me and for our good, if we ever want to see good footie at all with this clown. Where is Obertan on the bench? why the F8**k is Anita on the bench? £6 million signing on bench for Perch championship player???? what the hell???

FYI, Pardew has a session with Jonas once a day both of them sucking each other off. This is why he is un-droppable.

    Saylor and colo makes sense.

Perch for Anita is debatable but it is away from home.

    Marveaux injured bugger.

Love the fact that our brilliant manager has decided to play Saylor, a man who has missed most of the season instead of M’Biwa who has played every game this season.
    As for Jonas and Perch………………………………CLUELESS

Feel like we’re missing a MBiwa, but I really like the team.. Nice to see Gouffran getting a start even though he’s (imo) the most doubtful of the three.
Yeah, not including either Haidara or Deb 😉

anita is 10x the player perch will ever be, we want technically gifted players in, not grafters, wat is AP thinking?? Im a perch fan, but not over players of Anita’s quality!!
Much prefer Obertan than Sammi on bench, Sammi is NEVER going to be a top flite footballer, he has no strengthm desire or fight!! bambi on ice !!

Maybe Perch is being used over Anita for extra height vs. Benteke

The guy wins alot of headers in midfield. If Saylor is starting good but no way should Willo be over Mbiwa

Don’t want to hear the “we haven’t kicked a ball yet” bollocks. I’m usually the most optimistic person around but there’s absolutely no reason an unfit Taylor should be ahead of a fully fit and bang in form Yanga-Mbiwa, he ain’t put a foot wrong for Montpellier this season, and now he is sitting on the bench of a club placed 16th in the league, in a must win game?

As for Perch over Anita, i have no words.

Jesus christ Pardew mate, you best hope this team turns up tonight otherwise you’re gonna’ be deep, deep in the sh**!

Gouffran sisokko (charges forward) anita (charges forward) cabaye (better forward) cisse are all attacking or more attacking players. With some of villas fast players he needs someone back so perch and Jonas to cover when we break. Also anita will be our ace im the whole after 70 mins fast fresh legs and will stretch the game. Howay the lads

I’ve lost plenty of faith in Jonas but at least he doesn’t repeatedly lose possession. Sammy is decent in the EL but not the EPL

resting anita???? lad has worked his socks off for us but i like how he is calm on the ball and finds space and keeps the ball well for us even though a little less influential a cabaye but very affective….
perchy i think will sit back and let moussa go forward too… Saylor starting… him and colo have good partnership gives willo a nice LONG break and perhaps might take the pressure of him also

Anita must be thinking what the hell’s gone wrong.

He’s been our best player this season and he’s dropped and Jonas only has to be able to stand up and he’s in the starting eleven, as for Perch being in for his aerial ability, he doesn;t bloody have any

Sissoko and Gouffran will both be in attack-minded roles for Newcastle, who line-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Senegalese international Papiss Cisse will lead the line on his own, supported by the trio of Gouffran, Sissoko and Jonas Gutierrez .

James Perch and Yohan Cabaye will anchor the Magpies’ midfield, protecting a back-four of Mathieu Debuchy , Taylor, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Davide Santon , with goalkeeper Tim Krul behind them.

Exact Pardew quote “Well, I will once again put Jonas on the pitch, he drops from a light tackle, dives allot and wins us freekicks. I am just hoping he will win the freekick for Yohan and we score another free-kick to save us, we will then stick to defensive plan”

No problem whatsoever with having Jonas in for his graft and ball retention. He played very well first half last game after a long time out. Real problem is we look toothless up front – a lot depends on Gouffran from here on in.

    This makes sense…

Cant bring all new player in at once, even if they are better.
I understand why Mbiwa does not start away from home.
Two new offensive players debuts make more sense…
I would have Anita instead of Perch (Anita might not be 100% fit), but otherwise it looks wise tbh.
