Alan Pardew will start with an unchanged Newcastle side today at White Hart Lane in the tough game against Tottenham Hotspur today in the Premier League.
As expected Jame Perch retains his place as the defensive midfielder, in spite of Cheick Tiote returning form the African Cup of Nations last week.
And the Newcastle bench of Steve Harper, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan and Shola Ameobi is one of the strongest of the season so far.
Newcastle have a chance to make it three league wins on the trot if they can beat a good Tottenham side this afternoon.
For Spurs Adebayor starts on the bench this afternoon, after he only made it back form the African Cup of Nations yesterday, and American Clint Dempsey starts up front with Gareth Bale.
Teams:
Tottenham Hugo Lloris; Kyle Walker, Michael Dawson (c), Steven Caulker, Kyle Naughton; Scott Parker, Mousa Dembele; Aaron Lennon, Lewis Holtby, Gareth Bale; Clint Dempsey
Subs: Brad Friedel, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, William Gallas, Jan Vertonghen, Jake Livermore, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Emmanuel Adebayor
Newcastle United (4-2-3-1): Tim Krul; Mathieu Debuchy, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Davide Santon; James Perch, Yohan Cabaye; Yoan Gouffran, Moussa Sissoko, Jonas Gutierrez; Papiss Cisse
Subs: Steve Harper, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan, Shola Ameobi

Comment #4pap…It would need to be strong for Tiote to sit on it. Oh yeah 🙂
So how’s the general mood? People worried, indifferent or optimistic about this game?

Comment #7As expected, and certainly good enough to get something from this match. I imagine Tiote will replace Perch at some point, Anita for Cabaye/Sissoko, and hopefully Marveaux gets more than 5 minutes but Gouffran is every bit deserving at his place in the 11. HWTL.

Yeh that just about calls the subs.
Tiote for Perch
Anita for Cabs/Sissoko
Marv for Gouffy or hopefully even Guti if he’s tiring.
The fact that the entire bench except Strolla is fit to be in the staring lineup shows how strong we are.

Comment #38i think we need to take a massive chance and secure a win but with jonas in the starting 11 instead of marv i think Pards is looking for a draw or maybe sit back on a 1-0 in the first 20 minutes which by all means is daft.
IMO we should attack from the start to finish and do a villa going out there with nothing to lose

Comment #39Glad to see that hardwork is being rewarded and Tiote doesn’t just automatically walk back into the team. Shame we can’t fit both Perch and Anita in the Line up though.
