    Mbiwa.

Best player for Metalist: The officials.

  • 3 89Norcal // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:02 PM

Probably Santon. Everyone else had a very lackluster performance, including Sissoko imo.

  • 4 Spuggy // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:02 PM

Sissoko was class, but gonna give it to Cisse for scoring two goals.

  • 5 Jonny // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:03 PM

No one was on the same level as sissoko and mbiwa.

  • 6 toon1707 // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:03 PM

Well that was a joke 2 goals disallowed and every tackle they rolled around 15 times till our players were booked going to be very hard to qualify now I think as pardew won’t risk as many first team players before the saints game

  • 7 yo-yo // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:05 PM

    Cisse scored twice
    just bad luck

  • 8 Goodfella // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:05 PM

    Sissoko
Linesmen robbed us then done one down tunnel pure joke

  • 9 FAU // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:05 PM

The officials are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! referee stopped the ball while we were playin many times. Then Cisse “second” goal. Come on he was running from behind. Cheers, Toon Indonesia

  • 10 Peter // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:06 PM

Dunno ours but the freakin linesmen was mentalist absolute joke

  • 11 yo-yo // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:07 PM

Yo is very very p d off

  • 12 pawl250 // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:07 PM

Dont get the whole “we were crap” we scored 2 goals wrongly disallowed.

Sissoko, Mbiwa were really good tonight.

Jonas deserves a hand shake for the shirt pull (hilarious)

Cisse was good, his movement is quality, little worried about his confidence thats about it. He should have scored tonight, but lets be honest the keeper actually had a good game.

  • 13 yo-yo // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:08 PM

one away goal early and they’ll be freakin out next week

  • 14 89Norcal // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:08 PM

As a team we were utterly average today but should have won. Refs need to be euthanized after this one.

  • 15 JackButler // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:09 PM

Squeaky bum time for Colo and Saylor as M’Biwa looked very, very good even after being played out of his preferred position

  • 16 warwick // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:09 PM

That is the definition of robbed.
At 2-0 the tie is over…serious is there something to these match fixing allegation in europe.

  • 17 JackButler // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:10 PM

HBA can’t come back quick enough

  • 18 TimKrulFan // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:10 PM

It was only 1 offside second one miles off!

  • 19 Johann // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:11 PM

Take it easy, one linesman took a goal from us as he was pretty late to get alongside the line and took a poor decision that he probably regretted straight away. The second was pure offside and superb positioning by the linesman. And the performance wasn´t bad. Not at all. Just needed our forward to score.

  • 20 Spuggy // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:11 PM

    89

We weren’t average like, Cisse had 5 decent chances and tucked two away. Utterly average is when you create nothing. We should have won, they had nowt in front of goal.

  • 21 Jonny // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:13 PM

Need hba and goufrann back to replace obertan and Jonas ASAP

  • 22 Mister Tuff // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:13 PM

Those who say we scored two two goals need a visit to Specsavers -first one was level/onside and second one was just offside.
Very poor display – I’ll have to repeat yet again -powder puff attack and Cisse needs to get the offside errors sorted out.
We will be playing a lesser team next week (in view of the Soton game) and will therefore , based on this showing, get our arses twanged.

  • 23 northernirishtoon // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:13 PM

Mbira for me, looks very promising

Cisses confidence is shot big time. Fair enough he had two goals disallowed but he had another three chances which he should have scored. Not good enough for me

Sissokos runs were great. Really powerful on the ball just gave it away a bit too much

Think goofy is going to be some player for us as I think he was missed 2nite big time

  • 24 Goodfella // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:13 PM

Why did that linesmen run down the tunnel at the whistle i thought they are ment to meet in centre circle

  • 25 Cisse09 // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:13 PM

*timkrulfan… Wouldn’t say ‘miles’ u watchin same game! If anything it was a ‘knee’ .. At a push!!

  • 26 No Plain Saylor // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:13 PM

I am not a cynical person but i genuinely wish nothing but bad luck upon the ref and his linesmen. Nothing too bad, i just hope they have continual car trouble, get their ears cut when their in the barbers, put their jeans on backwards and people laugh at them, they bring oput the bins and the the bag rips, I hope their lotto numbers come up the one week they dont play, and no they didnt play on their mobile either. I am feelin so fcukin bitter after that, we’ll probably play haidara and willo shola etc over in the ukraine come away 1-0 losers and be able to say they tried their best, which no doubt will be true. Gaoing their 2-0 up i wouldnt be as nervous. The officials should be put down. :(

  • 27 warwick // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Advantage to attacker on offside…never offside…We played alright I thought, patient at times, made chances.
This bloghas a lot of mongs.

  • 28 aidantoon // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Poor game to be honest! We should have been 2_0 up but due to bad decisions not to be. Cisse not on form as he should of had 4.
Tiote, guit, oba not good enough end of!

  • 29 Pardew_out // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:17 PM

i dunno is lineman or TOT
TOT is so great he did not give a red

  • 30 brighter // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:19 PM

Of course both Mapou and Sissoko were great tonight.
But MOM for Cisse in my opinion.
    He scored twice.

  • 31 aidantoon // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:20 PM

Thought cabaye by far best player as he can pick out a pass! We are lacking major fire power up front.

  • 32 toonicle // Feb 14, 2013 at 10:23 PM

In a bit of a bad spot now, have to field a team strong enough to get the win away from home and then play a huge league game 3 days later. Trouble ahead I feel.

  • 33 toonluvva // Feb 14, 2013 at 11:03 PM

Even if HBA is fit for next leg he should be kept back for the Southampton game.

We have to put together a decent run of results in the PL to pull away from danger.

However, I believe that an early Toon goal next week could make it a really interesting game. HWTL.

  • 34 ITUNDERASHELL // Feb 14, 2013 at 11:12 PM

Team looking like it will be a force next season but we need another striker who is comfortable on either wing and is capable of putting in a decent cross as Gutti and Oba are incapable of delivering them.
Benny and Gouffran will be excellent in wide roles but we need back up.
Mbiwa will be a revelation and even Krul has learned to pass the ball to his defenders rather than hoof it straight to the opposition.
My man of the match was Mbiwa because he was fantastic on his debut.

  • 35 joeytoon // Feb 15, 2013 at 12:36 AM

am i missing something here? ,we are at home to an average ukranian team ,is the object not to build a lead to take to the ukraine? so pardew plays with one striker,= mistake, guits and obertan are selected ahead of anita and the very creative marvs= mistake, sissoko gave the ball away a lot early on but settled and had an excellent game, mbiwa likewise looked a little unsure but settled down and looked class
pardew is way too negative ,his team selection and tactics are questionable at best,he now has the tools to do the job ,he has quality on the pitch but imo he wont use it properly,

but the tie is not dead yet, an away goal early on and they will put the ukranians under real pressure , unless pardew takes our creativity off and defends AGAIN
