The Sun is reporting today that after Chelsea lost 3-2 at Newcastle with a last minute goal scored by Moussa Sissoko, the Chelsea skipper John Terry and manager Rafa Benitez has a fiery dressing room exchange.
Rafa Benitez and John Terry
This is what a Chelsea source has told The Sun today:
“Benitez blamed JT for two of the goals. He blamed him for losing Jonas Gutierrez for Newcastle’s first goal and for diving in without winning the ball in the build-up to their second.” “The manager was furious after losing in the last minute and made it clear he wasn’t happy with John’s performance.”
“He also reckoned that John wasn’t fit enough after three months out of action.” “JT wasn’t happy about the criticism and had a go back at the boss in front of all the other players in the dressing room.” “Everyone was stunned by the way the manager singled out JT. It was not the way he is usually spoken to at Chelsea.”
John Terry is now 32, and has struggled with a knee ligament injury this season and he was not fit to play in the next game after Newcastle at Wigan at Stamford bridge, where they won 4-1 – but it was a much closer game than the final score-line suggests.
And the two center-backs ion that day were Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
We hope that Newcastle can cause a few more dressing room bust-ups because we get some good wins – and some games where we could cause a surprise are at Manchester City on 30th March, Liverpool at home on 27th April (that should be easy win again) and Arsenal at home on the last day of the season – Sunday, 19th May.
It’s also interesting those are the only top teams we have to play in our last 12 league games of the season – and of course there’s Sunderland on 13th April at home too.
