Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Hints He Wants To Join Newcastle?

Saint Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has recently been linked with Chelsea, but whether that’s just made up news we don’t know, but it seems the Gabon International striker could be Newcastle’s number one striker target in the summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Newcastle calling?

Newcastle made an attempt to get Aubameyang on Tyneside in late January, and there was news we bid around £8.5M for him, but his club St. Etienne didn’t want to sell him mid-way through the season – and that’s understandable with his club being 5th top of the French League at the moment.

Pierre-Emerick was told there were rumors of Chelsea being interested in him and also another money-bags club – Paris Saint Germaine and this is what he said:

“I was not aware of that! You’re teaching me something new!” “PSG? It is clear that this is an interesting project, but I want to see something else, find something else.”

So what does he mean by those last words – “but I want to see something else, find something else.”

Even though Newcastle failed to sign the striker last month, that doesn’t say we haven’t already made significant progress with the negotiations, and maybe even got the lad almost signed up – and Newcastle do that kind of thing these days – they always seem to be ahead of the game in signing players.

Of course we don’t know if it’s true with Aubameyang – we just hope it is. 😀

The Gabon striker scored on Sunday in the 1-1 draw at Stade de Reims, and he is now joint second in the French scoring charts with 12 goals, with Paris Saint-Germain super-star Zlatan Ibrahimovic way out in front with 21 goals.

No manager was a world class manager straight of the bat, no mangager has never made poor decisions that cost games. Or made baffling decisions. Everybody learns as they go, this done through experience.

Pardew got us to fifth last season and proved with a fully fit squad he can do a job here. This is why he hasn’t been sacked during our bad run. The board have held their hands up and stated that the squad was never adequetly covered to fulfill such a campaign like this season.

That has been rectified and Pardew has been backed to the hilt. With our players back and good quality added we our back to where we were last season. Playing good stuff, and grinding out wins.

Forget looking for a scapegoat/scapegoats, there were problems alot bigger than playing Guti on the wing or playing Ba and Cisse upfront.

Pardew deserves the fans backing. And the sooner everyone does that the better.

Just because he has no premier league title under his belt, a champions league winners medal or a big cup is totally irrelevant. We would never get anyone through the door with such a CV to start with.

I back Pardew because of the finish I witnessed last season and the determination also. Along with the excellent man management I’v seen with certain players. Ben Arfa, Perch, Santon.

Cabaye, Sissoko, Gouffran, Debuchy, Mbwia have all hit the ground running under his stewardship.

There really is alot to be pleased about when you look past the “scapegoat” scenario.

Have faith lads, we’re on the up.

The thing is jonas is very poor on the wing but we have had limited options up until now.

If jonas continues to play ahead of the obvious choice of ben arfa and gouffran questions will be asked.

Before it was ben arfa and one of jonas, marv and obertan.

Obertan doesn’t do a lot when he plays (although has more goals and assists than jonas in the last 18months) and marv doesn’t seem to do well on the wing. So I can forgive pardew having guti in instead of those two.

All managers make mistakes it’s how they react to those mistakes that makes the manager.

You do realise you’re getting rid of five homegrown players? Leaving us with either four of five.

    We need eight…

Howay Ed I got excited for a minute there. 😀

Not exactly a transparent “come get me NUFC” plea is it? (So far 🙂 )

Lovin’ the optimism though mate. Keep it up.

I’d rather we go after a player who you read about donating $4000 to charity. Doing hard training, helping kids etc. And not one who spends $4000 on a pair of diamond encrusted boots. He stinks of ‘I love what I get from the game’ and not ‘I love the game itself’ We’ve had far too many poser big-heads at this club. Any player who even hints at baggage, I wouldn’t even touch.
