  Wow !!!

  Haven’t always been Pardew’s biggest fan (no really !!) but the way he had Perch and Jonas ready to come on really smelt of team spirit. Nearly had a tear !!

  Brilliant that hoof ball now seems a thing of the past and we are getting it down and passing and moving since the French revolution began. 3 wins out of 4.

  Krul – out of this world. His best game since Palermo as a teenager
  Haidara – awesome debut
  M’Biwa – absolute class
  Marveaux – hardest I’ve seen him work
  Socks – inspirational
  Shola – did it for Sir Bobby like he said he would.

  Incidentally why wasn’t their keeper sent off?

  Of course, and if a player does nothing for 80 minutes then scores a 10 minute hat trick, he would deserve MOTM – I just feel that there are players whose performance will be overlooked due to the manic defending and Super Tim in the last ten.

  Shall we agree to disagree. You’ve slagged Ashley for ever then go quiet when we sign 6 players. Pot kettle and black come to mind.

  No I haven’t been a Pardew fan, but we are looking better and credit where it’s due. It does seem we are trying to play better football with better technical players and team spirit looks off the scale with our French invasion.

  Haidara looked really really good, he was up against a very good winger as well and he coped admirably. Brilliant buy by the club.

  But Mbiwa looks like the complete defender. Fast, intelligent, and not too bad in the air – fantastic stuff.

  Ive been extrehehehemly busy the last few weeks, combined with the mobile site going all strange has resulted in my absence from the blog.
  I am sure i have been sorely missed !!!!!

  Anyway, first, have I missed anything the last few weeks? Is Cathy still about or are things too positive right now?

  Great win today, now without getting too optimistic, we are 3 rounds from amsterdam! We can get there!!

  Can not fault anybody today. Really good performance, and some excellent football, and excellent defending. Tim Krul looked like the best keeper in the world today.

  Im sure Sir Bobby was looking down on Shola during that penalty. A very fitting way of progressing through europe.

  Now we can all sit back, relax and laugh at the gift that keeps on giving – also known as liverpool

  Tads – Your right on Yanga Mbiwa he was my man of the match . Real class player and Haidara made for a really assured back
  It is a question as you say of who plays with him in. CD. We could play with a back 3 and wing backs . Your comment on Gouffran I. Also agree with be ause Cisse was very poor. Shame we didn’t get that other ST in window.

  Im a little concerned about Cisse.

  I think he is very much a confidence player. He needs to be through the middle. I think we will see the best of Cisse when we have Gouffran and Ben Arfa either side of him. He will lap it up being through the middle in a front free

  Toon your right.He doesn’t like playing out wide.He looked uncomfortable there. He will score goals again.He had to play out there to accommodate Ba.He has better players around him now.He still needs to make sure he stays on side though

  Good display by Haidara and also by Danny Simpson. who often gets a raw deal on here but played very well tonight.

  I must admit, that’s the best I’ve ever seen Danny Simpson play. He deserves a 6/10 for tonights performance.
