I think Mbiwa was absolutely fantastic.

I’m sure everyone will vote for Krul, even though he had nothing to do for 75 minutes.

That’s what makes a class keeper. Nothing to do for 75 mins, them pulls out several top class saves.

    Mbiwa, Krul or Shola.

Mbiwa was our best defender for 90 minutes. Shola caused alot of trouble in the first half, scored in the second. Krul kept us in front in the last 20 minutes.

    Tremendous result, now for Sunday.

Why ever did Marveaux not pass the ball across the face of the goal, I hope all you lovers of this player take note. IMO Much to lightweight.

I thought Yanga Mbwia and Haidara both played well, and Tim was again the difference

    Wow !!!

Haven’t always been Pardew’s biggest fan (no really !!) but the way he had Perch and Jonas ready to come on really smelt of team spirit. Nearly had a tear !!

Brilliant that hoof ball now seems a thing of the past and we are getting it down and passing and moving since the French revolution began. 3 wins out of 4.

Krul – out of this world. His best game since Palermo as a teenager
    Haidara – awesome debut
    M’Biwa – absolute class
Marveaux – hardest I’ve seen him work
    Socks – inspirational
Shola – did it for Sir Bobby like he said he would.

Incidentally why wasn’t their keeper sent off?

4W 1L since the french revolution. Good form and good signs.

Huge game next though, 3 points on Sunday and we can start to look up not down.

*Krul*: 9 – Super saves preserved the lead and secured second away win of season.

Simpson: 6.5 – did what you’d expect, defensively sound.

Haidara: 6.5 – Looks a really good prospect.

Colo: 7 – Very tidy for the most part.

Mbiwa: 7.5 – Might be difficult to leave him out now.

Anita: 6.5 – Quietly went about his business.

Cabaye: 6 – Not at his sparkling best, but retained the ball well.

Sissoko: 7.5 – Really is our best outlet at this point.

Marveaux: 7 – Lively start, seemed to tire and got a bit sloppy 2nd half.

Cisse: 6 – Still struggling to hit top form, made good runs.

Ameobi: 7 – Held the ball up well and how cool was that pen?

    SUBS..

Perch: N.A – Brilliant block, such a handy player for the bench.

Jonas: N.A – Didn’t really have time to do much.

    Bigi: N.A – Great hair.

Overall a good display for 75 mins and hopefully we can put out a relatively fresh side on Sunday.
Haidara looks like a threat going forward, Mbiwa oozes class and Sissoko is already a key player.

Let’s hope to see HBA on the bench for Sunday and Gouffran, Debuchy, Santon, Steven Taylor and Tiote come in to freshen everything up.

Its when call upon that is very important. It is the 1 seconds that helps the team to settle down. It is every catch of the ball that lets the team have a breather. Needs to play football to know that.

A great team performance tonight with many stand out performances.

I went with Ameobi, he led that front line brilliantly. But like i said alot of stand out performers. Haidara had an excellent debut and now i see why he got the nod in a very important game. Mbiwa look a class act and Sissoko was everywere once again what a player.

Also id like to give a shout out to Simpson who had a great game tonight, his head could of gone down and just accepted he was going to leave, but he gave it his all. I will say tho he isnt a great footballer as we know and that shown with some hoof balls but other than that a great performance.

Bring on the last 16 and see what we can do from there.

Good evening gentlemen, well I voted Krul (shock). Yes he did nowt for 75 mins but his 3 (4) brilliant saves got us through. Like many I was impressed by Haidara & Mbiwa, would you credit it, Le Toon have defensive quality in depth!

Btw I thought both Cabaye & Sissoko had off nights by their own high standards. Looking forward to them bouncing back on Sunday.

    HWTT !! 🙂

We have a squad now.We didn’t have that previously. We put a decent team out tonight and won. We should be able to go on and win on Sunday to improve our position in the EPL ,with ,in the most rested players. Loving watching the Toon at the moment

BDin9 Good point. We have had a deicent squad when all players fit, but as soon as injuries have occured, our reserve players have not been good enough, But now we have bigger squad and competition for the Places.

Voted for Collo – he wasn’t afraid to get stuck in and put there players on there arses when they tried to get physical with some of our french lads.

Mbiwa for what we paid for him is a bargain if he was English he would cost 25m.

Hadaira is a bargain too, got to love Carrs knowledge.

Marveaux looked weak in parts of the game, think we need a winger still in the summer.
