It’s going to be a tough game at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday against Swansea – but we will have a full strength side out, and it could be that Ben Arfa is back too, and he could either start the game or come off the bench – and that would be his first appearance for a Newcastle side since he played at Fulham on December 10th last year, and scored that great goal.
Alan Pardew - will try to get win on Saturday
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew challenged his side before the Aston Villa game to finish the remaining 15 games as a top four side – and so far the lads have got 9 points out of the four games played with three wins – but maybe Swansea is the second most difficult game remaining this season, behind only our trip to Manchester City at the end of March.
Let us know how you think we’ll do against Swansea on Saturday.

They can beat them, the question is, will they beat them. Hopefully the League Cup hangover will bite them. If memory serves, the last time we played a team that had just won the cup was when Villa beat Manyoo 3-0. We had Villa in the next fixture and went to town on them (was about 93/94 I think?). Lets hope for a result like that.

That should read 3-1 above, not 3-0. Memory let me down, think we beat Villa in the next fixture by 4 or 5 goals, was either 4-0 or 5-1. Think Beardsley, Cole, Bracewell and Sellars were the scorers. One was deffo a penalty though.

We don’t seem to like teams that will press us high up the pitch ie Southampton for first 15 mins of each half, Wigan away last season etc so think we might struggle to get a win

There is absolutely no reason why we should not beat them, they are only 7 points better than us , and been lucky with injuries.
Remember last year with BR’s style of football, they had 70% of the possession, we had 100% of the goals [2-0]. To be fair they are a better side now, not so much sideways and backwards football even when 2-0 down.
onwards and upwards

draw, my mate who is a swans fan from down there is up here this weekend for an all weekend long extravaganza of alcohol
he said last night that the partying has been kept to a minimum, no local reports of players being mortal etc.

YES
won’t be easy – two teams with contrasting styles. Swansea play lovely football to the eye but can over elaborate. Newcastle can mix it about –
play pass and move
hit teams with long ball
and counter attack
and with Goufran, Sissoko and Santon good at running with the ball
AND
Theres always Benni
I would bring him on with 30 minutes to go to run at them when tiring.
Makes for a interesting game !!!!

5-2 to the toon….they have the odd game they completely fall apart and I think they will struggle as their season is over (won a cup and in europe…nothing left to play for)

Reckon this will probs be a tight game, with only 1 goal in it, which could go either way. Gonna go out on a limb and predict 0-1 win for us.

I am hearing many stories of these Welsh peoples and drinking i am hoping the players are the same.

Joe…Interesting read. It may not be the most credited role in the team, but it is a vital one.
On Swansea…Of course we “can” beat them. Should be a good game as long as the players heads are in the right place.

Give me a break. Nobody talks like that except on episodes of Love Thy Neighbour. Who are you, Raj?

Think somebody is due an absolute battering of us!!! i would not be surprised if it ended 5-0 to the toon. Ben arfa available with a cisse who should fined some confidence from that amazing strike also with cabs, tiote, moussa and gouffy if i was ashley williams and co i would be having nightmares and crying myself to sleep everynight!
