Yohan Cabaye will again captain the Newcastle side tomorrow in the absence of Coloccini, who remains in Argentina, as he tries to recover from those two broken bones in his back., and the game against Stoke City is another massive one for the Magpies.
Yohan Cabaye – Newcastle in a difficult position
And Yohan has today admitted the obvious – we are still in trouble with just 30 points from 28 games – and there are only four teams beneath us in the Premier League, although we are still 6 points clear of the third bottom club Aston Villa, and we have a much better goals difference – so that’s really 7 points clear.
There’s no doubt that the mood in the Newcastle camp is sky-high right now, after the great performance on Thursday night in Russia, but the task at hand now is to make sure we get the win tomorrow – and really nothing else will be good enough.
Just imagine what the mood would be tomorrow afternoon if we lose – however well we play.
This is what Yohan told the local press today:
“We’re in a difficult position – and it’s going to be tough.” “And at home we are going to have to win every game. “Unfortunately we lost at Swansea last weekend.”
“Now we’re still in danger.” “Against Stoke I hope we will do all the right things to win.”“They’re a difficult team to play but we must do everything for those three points.”
It looks like 40 points should be good enough to avoid relegation this season, so that’s a little more than three wins in our remaining 10 games, and hopefully we’ll be on 33 points at 5:00 pm tomorrow afternoon.
If we are not, then it’s going to continue to be worrying times for Newcastle, however well we do in Europe.

Comment #3Stoke have seemed to be on the decline , maybe going a bit stale with Pulis, we should win this one , their away form is terrible. Anyway , who would win in a fight out of Sissoko , Tiote and Mapou ?

Comment #5i must agree with the person on last post i would personally play anita instead of tiote but i would be clutching at straws as to who the better player is for that position.
i’ll be honest and say i would not mind if a 15mil bid came in for santon now or even a 10mil+ for tiote as we have touching same if not better quality for there positions.
and what a player hairdryer is ^^ is it possible we can ever sign a bad player anymore ? the young lads i thought were rubbish and not going to make it in our team are stars at there loan clubs allready.

Comment #7I’m actually hoping Williamson starts tomorrow, call me crazy, I know! His aerial ability is his best trait and we know how Stoke play.

Comment #8Na , Ameobi would get smashed, too slow , Sissoko looks like he’d be a nightmare , I laugh at times the way he seems to just bounce players around . I think I’m in love the man

Comment #10Floppy chops Rednapp reckons 37 points will save them from relegation well 3 tomorrow against Stoke will push us towards safety, but I think floppy chops is way off the mark, more like 40 points needed & that means an average of 2 per game for QPR no way FLOPPY BYE BYE!
