Australian Curtis Good is now back at Newcastle after his successful loan spell at Bradford City, where he played 9 times for the Yorkshire side, and started their Capital One Cup final at Wembley last month.
Curtis Good in Bradford’s colors
Those 9 appearances go with the 25 appearances he made at Melbourne Heart before joining Newcastle for about £400K in the summer, and this lad came highly recommended.
And Curtis was back in action for our U21 side and played the full game in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City at Whitley Park yesterday afternoon.
The 6’2″ defender had this to say today in the local press:
“It was a brilliant experience. To be part of the something like that with Bradford is special.” “It’s hard to describe really. Unfortunately the final didn’t go the way we wanted it to.”
“But when you come up against a team like Swansea they are going to want the ball a lot so we couldn’t create a lot. I was proud of the boys for getting there.”
Good played center-back for Melbourne Heart but he was used as a left back at Bradford, and that’;s where he played yesterday for the Newcastle Reserve side.
Curtis turns 20 years old in two weeks time on 20th March, and there are still high hopes for this youngster at Newcastle, and we wouldn’t be too surprised if he is dent out on loan again before the end of this season.

The loan spell at Bradford cannot have done young Good anything but good! Some hard work and good displays in the reserves followed by perhaps a loan spell at a Championship club next season and we might have a player good enough for our first team squad in a year or two.Time will tell.
