Full-back Massadio Haïdara, central midfielder Vurnon Anita and winger Sylvain Marveaux ll start tonight in the European tie with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
The team is what we had in our Match preview, except that Cheick Tiote is in the side instead of Jonas Gutierrez, and Pardew’s starting eleven shows only three changes from the side that started against Stoke last Sunday.
But it seems that Newcastle are playing in an attacking 4-3-3 formation with Cabaye, Anita and Tiote the middle three with Marveaux, Cisse and Sissoko the men up front.
And the bench is very strong and contains two teenagers – Gael Bigirimana and local lad Adam Campbell. Harper, Perch, Gutierrez, Obertan and Shola Ameobi are the other players ion Newcastle’s bench tonight.

We looked good in the last 10 mins of the game. Good control of the mid. from Jonas (not surprising so much as he did this last season for some times and was better than as a winger).
We should really press them back, slow the tempo and build up the attacks. Come in waves.
The fast pace game is better for them and not for us.

Marveaux is not a winger. He is best played in the middle and that’s where he can do most damage.
Glad jonas is on. Although not for Cabaye. He will bring some solidarity to the middle.
I would switch jonas and Marveaux and have sissokho sit back a bit.
Hiding has clearly marked our full backs as our weakness and aims to exploit space left behind them.
Simmo should be at rb and santon at lw. We lack any threat out wide and they have 2 solid dms protecting them in the centre.
Have santon draw them out wide allow marv to exploit the middle space it will afford him. Anita or moussa can run from the centre to pull players out of position on the right.

Just back from SJP, Campbell did well IMO brought a bit of urgency to the game, haidara wasn’t as bad as made out, put in a shift, tiote a liability, Saylor a legend tonight.
