Haidara, Anita, Marveaux and Tiote Start For Newcastle

anzhi fc

Full-back Massadio Haïdara, central midfielder Vurnon Anita and winger Sylvain Marveaux ll start tonight in the European tie with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

The team is what we had in our Match preview, except that Cheick Tiote is in the side instead of Jonas Gutierrez, and Pardew’s starting eleven shows only three changes from the side that started against Stoke last Sunday.

But it seems that Newcastle are playing in an attacking 4-3-3 formation with Cabaye, Anita and Tiote the middle three with Marveaux, Cisse and Sissoko the men up front.

And the bench is very strong and contains two teenagers – Gael Bigirimana and local lad Adam Campbell. Harper, Perch, Gutierrez, Obertan and Shola Ameobi are the other players ion Newcastle’s bench tonight.
Teams:

Newcastle United (4-3-3): Rob Elliot; Davide Santon, Steven Taylor, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Haïdara; Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote, Yohan Cabaye (c); Sylvain Marveaux, Papiss Cisse, Moussa Sissoko
Substitutes: Steve Harper, James Perch, Gael Bigirimana, Jonas Gutierrez, Gabriel Obertan, Adam Campbell, Shola Ameobi

Anzhi – tba

Referee: Deniz Aytekin (Germany)

GREAT TEAM, well done pards for an adventurous selection

4-3-2-1, marv and sissoko playing free to support cisse, santon and haidara providing the width with anita and tiote helping out in defence.

cant believe he’s gone for such a team, 2-0 to us

Just whacked some cash on the Toon to win. Odds against at home, with the team Pardew has picked….surely we are going to win. Adds to the Cheltenham fund for tomorrow too. Lovely.
