Papiss Cisse scored the inner after 3 minutes and two seconds of the three minutes of added time – from a terrific cross from Sylvain Marveaux – and Newcastle got their dream win tonight – a fantastic win – seconds before the game was due to go to extra time.
Sylvain Marveaux – in action tonight
Let us know who you think Newcastle’s best player was tonight.

Comment #41You can tell who the sh1t fans are on here – they’re the ones sat posting derogatory messages about our own players all game, rather than actually watching it.
Marv and Taylor were brilliant – I went with Marv though, since he’s very unlucky not to start centrally more often, as we just have a fair few top top CM’s.
Hope Cabaye is OK though 🙁

Comment #44The Great ginger hype Adam Campbell was completely out of his depth tonight I know he;s only still young but so is sammy ameobi. You dont see him strolling around and whining like a little brat when he’s on. From the little ive seen of him i havent been impressed.

Comment #45How people can ask for Pardew’s sacking after 2 losses in the last 9 games and going through to the Quarter finals of the Europa league is beyond me.
Pardew is doing great.

– Tiote = Poor.
– Anita = Lucky not to be sent off
– Marv (awake) = dangerous player. If only he could perform like that consistently, would be nailed on to start most our games
– Campbell = Tiny compared to everyone else
– Steven Taylor = One man wall.
and last but not least,
We are in the QUARTER FINALS!!!

Did Campbell bully you at school or something? Did you watch our game against Brighton? Sammy spent 90 minutes jogging around like he’d run a marathon, diving, and complaining!
If nothing else, bringing Campbell on got the crowd going crazy, which was much needed.

Comment #57Taylor was brilliant. Without doubt at the moment the best English centre back. Come on Roy, get him in an England shirt.
Great result against a very good side. Pardew’s tactics were good as well.

take the “brother” out of your name as well, as you are not worthy of a gender or any family ties. you are a creature born from hatred in the fiery hells of the stadium of dark

Comment #61How did Tiote get the Captains armband before taylor? and where did Pardew put Campbell? it looked like he was playing on the right… surely you would want him off the shoulder?
Could have been so different if that freekick had gone in. Tiote is a liability. How many times did he give the ball away? Thank god we;re through, few!

Comment #62What a result. Pardew is right – we’ve knocked out one of the strongest teams left…but no easy games left in this competition now. Enjoy it lads, dust yaselves off and beat Wigan this weekend. Stevey Taylor – what a performance. Man of the match by a mile. Marveaux, Santon, good games too. Campbell must have had the best week of his life. Bright future for that lad.

Comment #66Saylor was a tank, Marv was class.
Felt a bit sorry for Campbell, did look lost but its not like we were playing to his game, he wasn’t going in behind to use his pace, they did seem to be reluctant to pass to him.
England’s loss is our gain, saylor = beast

Comment #67Toon brother some fan you are, you’re an absolute clown. We’ve just got through to the last eight in Europe and you do nothing but have a pop at Campbell who was barely passed to. Pipe down you muppet.
Taylor man of the match for me. Bad performance but we’re through so that’s all that matters right now. Anyone know when the draw is?

Comment #68Tiote poor when Cabaye is in the field, after that Tiote look ok
Santon is better on the left than on the right
Anita – still no convinct with him. he is clueless in the first half, the passing is also VERY poor

Comment #69good result hopefully pardew has learned a few things from tonight like sissoko shouldn’t play of the left again and marveaux should be in the team every week hope cabayes injury not to serious looked like he tweeked his hamstring to me

Comment #74Great Victory. I think Campbell was sent on not to be a striker but to give us some real pace in the middle of the field. You could see that he was reluctant to run with the other two up front and only let himself get close to the box when there was some other players around him. If he was following the instructions he was given by Pards he was very disciplined and did not want to leave a giant hole in midfield just so he could get a shot at goal.
