Ashley To Reject All Offers For Top Players – Wants Three Purples

It’s very likely that popular French midfielder Yohan Cabaye will be appointed the Newcastle captain, if Fabricio Coloccini leaves the club in the summer to return to Argentina.

Yohan Cabaye – he’s going nowhere in the summer

And the news today is that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley will refuse all offers for the Frenchman in the summer transfer window, when it’s almost certain some big clubs will be in for him.

It turns out that the owner’s favorite player is Cabaye, and that’s not too surprising given what a different side Newcastle are when he’s in the line-up, and Yohan has also talked in lyrical terms about Newcastle, and helped attract some other top French players to the club since he arrived – he’d make a great captain.

Newcastle will continue to build the side around the French International, and they have already cut the wage bill by terminating  the contracts of both Xisco and Nile Ranger, and veteran goalkeeper Steve Harper, who is on more than a decent wage at Newcastle, will not have hos contract renewed in the summer.

The Newcastle Journal are reporting that a blanket valuation of £25M was given last summer to any inquiries about any of our star player such as Cabaye and Ben Arfa, and that will continue this summer – and will include new stars such as Sissoko.

This is what a confident Alan Pardew said to the Journal today:

“We have the Dutch national goalkeeper and more players in the French national side than any other club, including Paris-Saint German and whoever you want to name in France.”

“We’re getting there and now, really and truly, we’re setting ourselves up for next year to have a real good go at the Premier League. This year we know we need to get safety under the belt quickly and if we can, hopefully we can cover ourselves in glory in the Europa League.”

Newcastle’s finances are in very good shape at the moment, even before the increased revenues that will be shared among Premier League clubs starting next season.

And as we reported earlier this week, Newcastle will bring in three “purples” this summer to fully augment the squad – and they will not lose any of our star players – unless a club with more sense than money comes in with £25M offers for some of our star players.

But we expect QPR to be in the Championship next season. 😀

The five new Frenchmen who arrived in January all seem terrific acquisitions and all are already first team players, and it seems that Newcastle will be ready next season for an attack on the top six of the Premier League, with the best squad we’ve had since Bobby Robson was running the club ten years ago.

This all sounds very good to us.

I would love for mike ashley to turn into a die hard toon fan, so he never pulls off pranks like changing our stadium name. Did I really just say that ffs!

If he keeps driving the club into a better team, then I’m happy

I fail to see any direct quotes concerning no sale at less than 25 mill or anything about bringing in 3 “purples” (oh boy!) for that matter, nor would that necessarily amount to a hill of beans anyway.

It’s mischevious of you Ed, when we all know supporting the Toon is a salutory lesson in the hope and realisation of real life writ large.

I urge you to refrain from such shameless dog whistling forthwith.

Mike used to love Alan Smith. That didn’t help Smith’s form. Now he’s onto Dreamboat. God help us this time please.

It’s all well and good saying that a player is not for sale, but if they decide that they want to leave there’s not a whole lot you can do about it.
