Alan Pardew will be giving his press conference on Thursday for the Manchester City game on Saturday, and we should get some information – especially about the status on injuries.
Alan Pardew – should be interesting news conference tomorrow
Fabricio Coloccini is now back on Tyneside, and we wonder if he will be available for Saturday’s game at the Etihad, if he has fully recovered from his back injury.
If Fab can play it would allow Yanga-Mbiwa to move to right back, and maybe Vurnon Anita could come in at left back.
We expect Mathieu Debuchy and Massadio Haidara to be unavailable for Saturday’s game – but we’d like to know how long they will be out for,
And it seems Davide Santon picked up a hamstring injury while training with the Italian U21 side early last week, and he will not travel to Manchester – but how long will Davide be out for?
Newcastle start a sequence of five very important games on Saturday, all to be played in just 15 days – there are three important league games and the two ties against Benfica in the quarter finals of the Europa League.
How we fare in these upcoming games will literally define Newcastle’s season, and of course we are still not completely safe from relegation yet.

Comment #3We are not safe arithmetically, but 7pts out of our run in should do it.

All players come and go and we seem to be coping very well without Demba Ba, the important thing is to replace him with an A list player if he does go, relying on STaylor and Mbwia with Willo as back up as we have done for the last three and a half seasons simply isn’t acceptable.

If we only manage seven points from the remaing games then we probably deseve to go down.

Comment #6Aye, this is very much on my mind at the moment. Who is fit and who isn’t..
Im surprised we have heard nothing about Debuchy.. Well at least I havn’t? It was a week and a half ago now.
You have got to think he is ok.. Or they are waiting on how he does in training this week.

Comment #7Tbh Jail I’m not so sure we’ll get much more than that from our games.
It all depends on the form of the teams we meet.
Qpr have been playing better,City at their place is tough,Fulham have been steady all season and those two home games we’d be executing to win but we aren’t scoring freely but are defending pretty well.
Where do you think the points will come from?

Comment #9I personally want 4 teams to get relegated I know 3 only go down but ill be happy if 3 from Aston villa 4 putting the finale nail in our coffin in our relegation season QPR 4 hijacking our loic remy deal + can’t stand sloppy chops!! Wigan because dave whelan and Martinez said there was nothing wrong with that horror tackle and the unwashed just to shut them up. Hopefully reading will put a canny run together and climb to safety

No we certainly can not rely on willo, I hope we get sakho, but I think he will cost too much and cost too much in wages :/
I’d be happy with Virgil van dijk to replace willo – the donkeys hairy a**

Comment #16How do we rate James Tomkins as back up?
A step up from Williamson?
It’s been well documented Pardew is an admirer. We have also had bids rejected apparantly.
We may go back in the summer for him.

I rate Tomkins a bit higher than willo, not by much though, and I think with the cost of what we would have to pay for Tomkins we could get an international defender that is a lot better than Tomkins say in between 6-8mil

Aye, im with you.
I think it’s going to be difficult to bring in a full international CB to play the role of back up. I think we may have to go for youth, someone who is willing to battle, learn, and push our CB’S. Tomkins is 23, best years infront of him as a CB. English too. The potential is there.
The player we go for has to have great potential to be able to do that with the quality we already have. I don’t think it is no easy job to find such a player.
