Sissoko – I Want To Be As Good As Yaya Toure

Newcastle have got some player in Moussa Sissoko, and the French International is already showing improvement on Tyneside, and he starts every single game for Newcastle United.

Moussa Sissoko – already some player for Newcastle

Moussa has been compared with both Patrick Vieira, the former French and Arsenal powerhouse, and also with Yaya Toure, who Moussa will play against on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.

And the 8 times capped French International has talked about Yaya in the Daily Mirror, and says he hopes to be as good as the Ivorian one day, although he admits he’s still got a lot of work to do:

“People say my style is similar to Yaya Toure, and he is definitely a player I admire a lot.” “He’s had a fantastic career at all the clubs he’s been at. He’s done really well and won a lot of things.”

“He’s a huge player for Manchester City. I do think that we are similar. We’re both powerful players and both like to get forward and try and score goals.” “Toure is Toure and I’m my own man. But he’s definitely someone I look up to.”

“And if I could reach that level that would be great. It’s something to aim for – obviously I hope I can. But I will have to work hard to get to that level. I don’t think I’m there yet. Not at all.” “He’s been lucky enough to play regularly in the Champions League and I’ve yet to play in that competition.”

“He’s got a lot more experience than me.” “There’s a lot of work ahead for me if I want to reach his level. But I will do everything possible to get there and I’ll try and model myself on him. One day I’d love to think I could be as good as him.”

We suppose it’s good that Moussa has someone he can look up to and try to become as good as – but Moussa is his own man too, as he says above.

And if he improves as much as his countryman has in less than the two years he has been at Newcastle – Yohan Cabaye – then Moussa will become some player on Tyneside.

That’s what we are hoping for, and of course he’s already a very good player – and to think he only cost £1.8M – unbelievable. :D

For the record Moussa Sissoko has played 11 times for Newcastle with 3 goals and 4 assists.
