Alan Pardew has been interviewed on Newcastle’s web-site, and he says that every game is important for Newcastle now, be it in the Premier League or the Europa League, and there at least 10 games still to play this season, eight of which are in the Premier League.
Alan Pardew – every game is now important for us
In the run-up to the Manchester City game today, City manager Roberto Mancini has said the title race is over – and he’s right – but Alan Pardew says Roberto also wants to get the best out of his players in the final eight games of the season:
“He’s probably said it to rile his players, I should think – to get a reaction out of them, to try and win the last eight and see where it leaves them.” “That’s not a bad policy from him. We won’t be fooled by it though.”
We know it’s a difficult place to go. Last year it was our toughest away game, I make no bones about that, and we need to make sure it’s a little bit easier this time around with a better performance from ourselves and I think that’s the key.”
“We’ve got a good side, we’ve performed well of late and we need to take that into this game. “Every team in that bottom ten is not comfortable yet and we’re all striving to get close to 40 points as quickly as we can. And that’s our goal too.”
“It’s the business end now and for all of us there’ll be extra tension on the game, extra emphasis from the media, and we all need to deal with that and be able to get your results.” “Every game now is important for us, and momentum to take into the Europa League.”
“We’ve got ourselves in a fantastic position in that Europa League and we’ve got to see it through. “The second leg’s at home, a full house, about nine or ten days away so we’ve got a lot to look forward to.”
“But we’ve got to make sure in these Premier League games that we really are at our best.”
Manchester City are heavy favorites to win the game tomorrow – and even our readers are not too confident about this game.
We’ll do very well to get a point out of this game – but we need every single point we can pick up in our final eight games of the season in the Premier League.

Comment #4I really hope we can win this game vs Citeh…
We have some key players out but I’m sure we can get a result here. We have some great ball players and with Cabaye in our squad we can honestly beat anyone. He is just a fantastic player, definitely our best player, and a great captain.
Howay the lads!!
1-0 Newcastle win!
Cabaye 64 min penalty

Looks like fergie is impressing,
Now lets see everyone else come through, i feel all this talk about campbell recently has diverted attention away from Abeid, Tavenier, Bigi, Vuckic ect.
Out of all our youngsters, I can only see Bigi and campbell making it

Comment #6Would be very happy with a point off shitty. There is no doubt we have enough ability to get a point so the crux of the matter will be if and how we apply it.
That rests with how Pardeaux sets up the team and the tactics he decides to go with – not always his strongest asset!

Comment #7The only chance I think we have is if Cisse can pull out a couple of worldys.
They’ve lost one game in like 50000000000

Anita is the man to put in there and Perch in at DM with Cabaye ,Sissoko as we will be sitting back a fair bit.
The only hing against him playing LB is that he has no height and they’ll look to exploit that.

Comment #13I have to ask, is it common to use the expression “make no bones about that” in GB? Feels like Pardew uses that expression in every interview he gives, although I don’t think I’ve heard it anywhere else.
Good to see Ferguson progressing! He was actually behind three of the goals for Birmingham.
