    jesper thanks for replying
it doesn’t mean anything about the ammount of injuries over this or the last season wat does matter is to the caliber of players that are injured i.e the key players which i pointed out?
you only have to look at michu’s goals to see that he has been absolutly instrumental to swanseas season
just imagine if cisse was injured in his 1st game last season would we have finished 5th? no chance imo
and the same with swansea without michu they would be down with us infact imo would be in a worse position!
wats the difference with laudrop n pardew i’d say 5th place with a team that no1 would have expected and brought the best out of every player he had and then lets see wat laudrop does in his second season!

Cant wait to watch the full match replay tomoro 😀

Oh and that M’bengue (no idea what his name is) was he at the game today? Heard some random fans on twitter saying that rumour was true and he had told them he was likely to join us come summer

On topic that goal was straight out of last seasons run of cisse screamers

  • 4 daztoon // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:06 PM

That`s all here say without Michu i still think they would have done well and Laudrup has taken them up a level and won silverware to boot

  • 5 Sack Llambias // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:06 PM

Do you still think Pardew is not demonstrative enough?
    You numpty.

  • 6 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:08 PM

wwycd he’s that hardman leftback and his 1st name cheik so it must run in the name:)
can’t see us buying another lb 2 be honest unless ashley is buying 3 players for each position just to sell the best but that would never happen would it??

  • 7 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:09 PM

manxpie…Ed moves to quickly for me 🙂

…I have posted a reply for you a few post back. And you are welcome mate 🙂

  • 8 WWYCD // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:12 PM

Simmos off come summer most likely so this lad coming in would give us 2 full LBs and move Santon to the RB rotated with Debuchy?

  • 9 josh // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:13 PM

Jonas had an absolte blinder today. He seemed to gain a yard of pace from somewhere.

  • 10 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:13 PM

daztoon hows it here say who’s there other big scores this season then seriosly he’s scored goals this season that no other player would have scored he’s been brilliant!
but i bet you hammer pardew week in week out for having many many key players out!
    thats my point!

  • 11 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:17 PM

guttierez looks better bombing forward from deep.

marv looks 10x better in the centre
anitas contribution is underrated, keeps us ticking over
our defense looks more solid in the absence of santon
    yanga looks pure quality

  • 12 tweaked // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:18 PM

Fantastic result, now to get a 2-0 win against benfica

  • 13 Eddie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:19 PM

Interesting to hear Papiss say that at half time Pardew showed him a video of when he could have slipped the ball to Marveaux. I can only imagine the hours of footage Pardew must have shown him in order to get him to stay onside! Still, when all is said and done, Papiss is an incurable shotaholic – bless him.

  • 14 daztoon // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:20 PM

Course it is Graham could have played that position and had a blinder of a season or they could have bought someone in Jan.You have no idea what Laudrup would have done

  • 15 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:23 PM

cisse frustrates the hell out of me but god i love him.
    our best team?

    gouffran marv hba
    sissoko cabaye
    jonas mbiwa taylor debuchy

jonas at lb i know, but he is defensively solid and can support an attack. hes also stong and robust.

    haidara would be a possibility

  • 16 Rotonda heights // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:24 PM

Was a better watch today that’s for sure. Lovely to see Marveaux getting a run as I think he is a special player and very under rated. Anita and Goofy were very effective too and M’Biwa is something else.

I know we didn’t score till 93 minutes so had no time to sit on a 1-0 lead for most of the match as per. Still there was better passing and moving and one epic move which ended with Goofy playing the ball in to Cisse who could’t adjust his feet in time.

I know passion can’t mask a lot of tactical inefficiencies at times but it was great to see Pardew jumping in to the crowd.

  • 17 daztoon // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:25 PM

    @Alan Pas-de-clue
Guti had a great game and looked far better going forward as a lb than a winger

  • 18 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:28 PM

guti actually does everything santon should be aspiring to do, which is very ironic

should colo decide he actually wants to stay would like to see him and mbiwa as a partnership

his reading with mbiwas pace could be unbreachable

only worry is the aerial vulnerability it could bring

  • 19 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:30 PM

well i’ll do your job for u jesper

    20jesperfuglsang – captain of the lemon crew // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:03 PM

    manxpie…you are welcome mate!

It is hard to judge Pardew on his 5th place athivement last season and this season’s disaster solely. I guess you. cannoot judge Laudrup one one good season.

I don’t think it is fair ask what Laudrup would do if Michu got injured; I often wonder what Man Utd or Liverpool would have done if RVP or Saurez were injured. Who knows?

You guess you can only judge a manager on how he does with what he has got. Pardew did well last season with what he got and he goot praise. He has not been worse off injurywise this season in my book and he has done not so well to say the least

Who knows how he’ll do next season? I honestly think some people put to much emphatize on injuries and feel a little bit too sorry for Pardew.

my point is we’ll see how he does next season and also your point that you seem to hold on to that we had as bad injuries last season and that other teams have the same injuries is rubbish every pundit, the manager n players has said we’ve had terrible injuries and i’d love you to tell me a team that has had worse injuries this season or even the same and i mean first team players??

  • 20 Rotonda heights // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:32 PM

    alan pas de clue

Have to admit Colo and M’Biwa would be mouthwatering in class and skill. I never really think of Saylor as a natural footballer like those 2 although he has passion.

  • 21 2_goal_tino // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:34 PM

Everyone seen this picture? Top quality….

  • 22 magpie6699 // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:34 PM

Papiss is very frustrating – snatched at 2 chances in the first half when he had time to steady or pass – but last season they would probably have curled into the top corner and we’d have said how brilliant he was. He was also very unlucky with a late header which was heading down into the bottom corner only for Schwartzer to make a brilliant save. Funny cos’ I’d said to my mate that Cisse would score in the last minute and when Schwartzer made that save I said “well perhaps it’s still a bit early”!
Btw – I thought Jonas was immense – defensively and attacking and he gave his all. After one excellent run late on he was blowing like a steam kettle and looked totally knackered – but still made further runs afterwards.
PS Wasn’t Karagoonface a disgrace with his cheating?

  • 23 Ian Toon // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:34 PM

    Rotonda- @ 16. Well said.

  • 24 roblee7 // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:35 PM

Just wondered if anyone can help me out here….is the Benfica game sold out on Thursday? Just went to buy tickets on the NUFC website and won’t let me choose any seats….PLEASE don’t be true…I have a feeling it could be a classic on Thursday….any help much appreciated!

  • 25 JTOONJ // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:38 PM

how priceless was cisse today? he didn’t let his head drop after decisions and shots went against him! got stuck into a lot of tackles and of course won it for us!

  • 26 roblee7 // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:39 PM

went to the match today and re-read all the comments on the game whilst it was being played. Honestly thought we were great today. As great as we could have been with all the injuries tbh….don’t know what some fans expect, we have more than half a first team squad injured and could have easily been 4 or 5 today….thank god for Cisse is all I can say!!! :D!!!!

  • 27 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:39 PM

Some posted a link earlier with some fans photographed with mbengue(?) who was apparently saying he was going to the game and looking to move to the prem

For once I complete agree with you but it’s a shame we won’t find out as colo is p1ssing off in the summer 😉 personally would live to see alderwield bought in to replace him

    Can I just say
Two solid games on the trot seems to have a bit of fight back in his belly and is going a fair way in showing us all why we fell in love with him in the first place fantastic game from him!

  • 28 JTOONJ // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:39 PM

At the game today the annoucer did say please buy benifca tickets today as they’re selling quickly!

  • 29 Footballwatch // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:41 PM

If you wish you can watch the game’s highlights and later the game in full on

  • 30 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:41 PM

    jonas is a lb!

  • 31 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:42 PM

TDS from a couple of posts back
Aye simmo has looked like he’s upped his game since filling in for debuchy, like you said mate competition!
Which is why I would live to see some competition bought in for cisse and benny (well more cover for benny tbf)

  • 32 roblee7 // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:42 PM

JTOONJ – Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good for me 🙁

And toonarmydownsouth… was the best I’ve seen Jonas play ever…honestly, he was actually going taking on players and succeeding time after time! why he doesn’t do this more often with his pace and skill (today) who knows!

  • 33 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:43 PM

when raylor comes back we wont need simpson!

i love santon but selling him and buying a more natural lb while making a profit could be a good move if the reported interest is there

  • 34 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:45 PM

daztoon ya mean the 1 they sold in january which to me says they didn’t want him and i never seen graham score the types of goals michu has scored so no try again?
the fact is laudrop is doin wat pardew did last season (but not as good) and if you believe jesper without the injuries
pardew deserves another season with his whole new squad all fit simple as that like!!

  • 35 Ben_BKK // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:48 PM

Love Sissoko’s face in the bottom pic here, he’s clearly loving it

  • 36 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:49 PM

Well there was lots of talk earlier in the season about him carrying injuries, then the whole buisness with colo and the fact he’s played in about 5 positions this season!! Maybe the lads just been a bit disjointed! Who knows but the last couple of games it’s been great have the old jonas back!

  • 37 daztoon // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:50 PM

You just make crap up like i said you have no idea what Laudrup not Laudrop would have done. You could also say had we had a full fit squad loss of form for key players as you say we could still be in the same position (simple as that like)

  • 38 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:56 PM

daztoon you got that in english mate?

  • 39 roblee7 // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:57 PM

toonarmydownsouth…thats interesting, I think if this is true alot of fans would stop slating him so much. This perhaps explains why Pardew loves Jonas so much too. I have to admit, I have been critical of him this season as lets face it, he’s not been great, but would defo eat my words if thats true…shows how much he cares when he’ll put his body on the line!

  • 40 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:58 PM

tads can i ask if you told jesper we had the same injuries this season as we did last?

  • 41 Big Pappa Cissé // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:58 PM

Nice to see a win has brought us closer together 🙂

  • 42 daztoon // Apr 7, 2013 at 7:59 PM

Is that what it was ?

  • 43 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:01 PM

    Man of the match Jonas
    followed by Simpson and Marvo

  • 44 WWYCD // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:03 PM

Simmo is a far better full back than Raylor and I dare say this M’berger chap is an improvement on both

  • 45 NUFC_LEAZES END // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:04 PM

great game, clearly deserved to win.
atmosphere abysmal in 1st half, picked up in the second though especially when we scored!!!!

I cant believe some people at half time saying crap like this ‘We deserve to be relegated. Simple! Rubbish!’.

absolute bollocks man, we hit the bar post and should of had a pen and a red card for them for the same incident (denying a goalscoring opputunity).

I heard sunderland didn’t have not 1 shot on target either lmfao!!

  • 46 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:06 PM

Like I said mate all just rumours n stuff (except the injury part) but yeah by prob even his standards jonas has had a very hit and miss season, still a firm favourite of mine though!!!!

Hey? No chance mate we’ve been absolutely ravaged with injuries this season, mostly key players and never seem to have what most would call our “first choice” starting 11 available from game to game, add in to that the extra games from europa league our squads been stretched to its very limits!
Desperately need some quality in depth next season

  • 47 WWYCD // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:07 PM

Well our scouts have certainly seen the lad play and tracked him for a long time and his position at Toulouse isn’t too good apparently…bet he’s friends with Sissoko as well though Hairdara is looking fantastic u can’t have too many good players

  • 48 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:07 PM

we cant keep simpson as a 2nd choice rb when he wants 1st team football. he either accepts we need the depth to move forward and challenge for europe or moves to pastures new

  • 49 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:08 PM

Well the scum scored mate so they must of had atleast one! 😉

  • 50 Alan Pas-de-clue // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:08 PM

the cheikh mbengue rumour has been going for some time now, since before we got santon. senegalese teammate of cisse, ex club team mate of sissoko, wouldnt rule it out

  • 51 Ben_BKK // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:09 PM

tads – their goal was an own goal mate 😛

  • 52 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:12 PM

That you can’t mate, don’t know much about the lad other than he’s served 2 long term bans for a couple of horror tackles!

    On the raylor/simmo thing
I think your right that simmo offers more defensively but I think raylor offers more on the whole when he plays he can switch comfortabley between attack and defender and seems to be the only bigger in the squad who can take a set piece! 😉
Shame we can’t merge them then you’d have a cracking squad player!

  • 53 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:13 PM

    Didn’t know that! Lol
So much for Di canio and his fantastic flowing attacking brand eh!

  • 54 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:16 PM

thought so tads its just jesper said it might have been you that posted how similar the injuries we’ve had this to last lol
prob just to try to back up his own silly oppinion on this
iagree with u and also on guti my motm 2 day

  • 55 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:16 PM

    Carrying coals
Good write up as always mate keep it up!

  • 56 JTOONJ // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:16 PM

thats what happens when there is nothing to cheer for.

  • 57 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:19 PM

Don’t really recall any injuries last season except for benny and tayls and a short spell with cabs missing
I get that ppl get fed up with hearing about the injuries but think its a bit short sighted to straight up dismiss them as an influence on this season

  • 58 MosesNUFC // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:22 PM

So it seemed the 4-4-2 method worked with the defensive line pushing up so the midfield are closer to the strikers 🙂

  • 59 WWYCD // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:23 PM

He’s serving two bans? Bloody hell he’d fit in well with Tiote then

Combining Simmo and Raylor would be great though, imo, we’d just end up with a freekick taking Simpson

  • 60 manxpie // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:24 PM

yeah tads especially with the key players i mean i’d love to see the stat of how many different defences we’ve played this season must be a record
as i said before, pardew deserves another season with his own squad!

  • 61 bills-son // Apr 7, 2013 at 8:27 PM

    When the going gets tough…

Krul pulls off one of the saves of the season against Berbatov….

Pardew puts Guti at left back and he has an absolute blinder…

Sissoko shows that he has passion and fight to go with his undoubted ability….

Papiss Demba Cisse saves his best for last with a fantastic first touch and brilliant finish…

And Pardew shows how much this club and team mean to him with a mad celebration any fan would be proud to have vidoed.

That game is what being a football fan – and especially a Toon fan – is all about.

    Magic. HWTL.
