Inter-Milan Make £8.5M Bid For Newcastle Striker Target

There were rumors last week that Inter-Milan were interested in Newcastle’s striker target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, of St. Etienne and there is new news in the Italian press that indeed the Milan club have put in a bid for the 23 year-old striker.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Inter-Milan have bid for this striker

Newcastle were reported to have bid £8M for the striker in the January transfer window as we tried to replace Demba Ba who signed for Chelsea, and that was after we failed to lure Loic Remy to Tyneside.

Last month Chief Scout Graham Carr and Newcastle owner Mike Ashley went to watch the player play for St. Etienne in France, as the Newcastle owner looked to get more involved with the top transfer business at Newcastle.

There are reports in the Italian press that Inter have made a bid in the region of £8.5M (which is around €10M) for the striker, and that was slightly more than the reported Newcastle bid, and the bid has already been turned down by St. Etienne.

St. Etienne have said they want €12M for their striker, and if Inter are bidding now, we have to assume that Newcastle are also involved, if the news that he is our number one striker target in the summer  is true.

Arsenal have also been recently linked with the 23 year-old striker, so we assume Newcastle are well aware of the interest from other top clubs.

Comments welcome.

I hope we get him. Looks lightweight in pictures, but when you watch him play he isn’t afraid to get physical at all. Reckon he will tear it up in the Prem, hopefully in our colours.

On a side note, just been for a meeting next to Jury’s Inn hotel next to Redheugh bridge, and seen a coach load of Benfica fans arrive. Colourfull bunch, particularly the one wearing a full length silk wizards cape, with huge shoulder pads, and a massive eagle on the back. Has loads of black hair and a massive beard. Looks like Dumbledore’s best mate! He has to appear on the TV coverage, as that’s the best football outfit ever.

With regards to discussion on injuries in the last thread – (repost)
Watched an interview before the manc derby and Schmeichel said that man utd have over 30 different members of coaching staff (physios etc not included) he said they literally had a coach for everything you could think of. Not surprising they have few injuries and players like Giggs can play on into there 40?s.

It seems an odd time for the player to be making a decision on his future. If any clubs agree on a fee he might say no if they dont end up in the position they expect. Ie not in the champions league. Just a thought

If that were true Ed, why didn’t you quote the source?
