For Newcastle A Draw Is No Good – We Want To Win

Shola Ameobi has been interviewed in the local press this morning, and the Nigerian born striker, who always does well against Sunderland, has said he is looking forward to the game tomorrow, and that Newcastle must get the win.

Shola Ameobi – juices are flowing

Shola has scored seven goals in total against Sunderland, and this is what he had to say in the local press today, when asked why he always did well against Sunderland :

“I don’t know – I prepare in the same way.” “With me being a fan, I suppose the juices just flow that little bit more.”I am fortunate.”

“I have been in the right place at the right time.” “It seems to be the game I do well in and long may that continue.” “We will go into that game wanting to win.”

“For us, a draw is no good. We want to win – for the position in the league and also the fans.” “They have supported us all season and this is the game they really want us to win.”

“It is only right we give them it.” “There will not be any tired legs come kick off on Sunday afternoon.” “The occasion raises the heart rate.”

“The anticipation is great, and the fans will be up for it. That was just a precursor to what we will have on Sunday. “The fans will come out and support us and it really helps.”

“Fortunately, I have played in a few at home, and won a few.” “Hopefully, we can continue that trend.” “The three points are all-important – they would lift us up that table.”

A win will be a terrific result for Newcastle tomorrow, and in all honesty – after our exit from the Europa League on Thursday night – anything less than a win will be a let-down.

But defeat for Sunderland will keep them mired in relegation and a full 8 points behind Newcastle.

We need the win tomorrow.

Repost -Pardew has already said that Benny will not start but probably get another cameo. I don’t get the people who are not putting Guti in their starting 11. He’s been close to the best, if not the best, player in both recent games. Defending or attacking he gives his all for the team. If he tires, then bring on Benny. Also very impressed with Haidara against Benfica.
    My team:
    KRUL
    DEBUCHY TAYLS M Y-M HAIRDRYER
    MARV CABS TIOTE GUTI
    CISSE GOOFY
Subs: ELLIOTT PERCHINHO SIMMO ANITA SHOLA (MACKEM_SLAYER) HBA and YOUNGUN
(No Gosling – please!, No Bigi yet – and apologies to Willo who did a decent job the other night – we could have a worse 4th choice CB you know)

    Buzzing for this match!

the prospect of our french flair kicking in next season with debuchy and arfa rampaging down the right with cabaye sissoko and marv tearing it through the middle aaaaghhhh

do we not need to get some homegrown players to meet regulations though?

Oh Shola haha I fancy him to start the second half, I watched the highlights of the 5-1 last night (thanks to someone posting the link on here cheers whoever that was haha got me very pumped for the game) and Shola’s second goal was outstanding pick of the 5 for me

Nolan, Carroll and Barton were fantastic that day haha Halloween massacre 😀 and cheering their goal was top draw

Cant see us starting with either marv and/or ben arfa. they will both come on later after we have soaked up all that sunderland pressure. see this as a nervy game, where pardew will firstly try not to be too risky. If we started with this lot we would murder them..

if all were fit i would say go absolutely gung ho and tear them apart. but all arent fit and we have to be more cautious.

im not sure who is fit and who isnt but i would say jonas and marv will start, hba at 60 mins

CBT – Whoops! I knew I’d missed someone out. It’s good that there are so many players I feel relatively comfortable about them playing – not like 6 months ago! OK Cisse instead of Goofy and Goofy sub instead of Campbell.

i still maintain our best midfield 3 would be cabaye anita sissoko as it is the most balanced. tiote cabaye marv would also be balanced

tiote cabaye sissoko is physical which may be what we need for the derby but is not technical enough for higher calibre opposition

now that benny is back i would love to see goofy pushed upfront 🙂

marv also has come into his own but not sure if his role is an impact sub of not tbh
my front 6 would idealy be

    ………..tiote……………..
    arfa..cabaye..sissoko
    …….goofy..cisse……..

sissoko seems like he likes to pull wide and cut inside ect and think he’s more suited to starting further back and using his vision and then running in on timed runs so starting him further back looks like a very good option to me.

    krul
    debuchy mbiwa colo santon
    tiote cabaye
    hba sissoko marv
    cisse

    elliot
    simpson willo taylor haidara
    obertan anita perch jonas
    shola gouffran

also raylor, bigi and other youngsters
we have enough players for two starting XI now (players can be rotated to make more even)

we have a degree of depth for the first time, would still like another cb/st/winger in the summer though

    @10

i do agree tbh as much as tiote is a great player i do tend to think of him as a liability now unfortunatly and thats only because the referee’s tend to watch him like a hawk and pick up every slightest touch he makes.

anita imo is a class above with his all round game but his breakup play is not as good (personally i still choose anita though)

@Cisse.. like the way those teams look. 1st team could take on the top 4, 2nd to play your mediocre teams like Villa etc. Really think we’ll embarrass the scum tomorrow. 4-1 toon HWTL
