what amazes me is the way people make excuses for our pathetic excuse of a manager . we have one of the BEST squads in the league. We had more than enough resources this season to cope with the Europa league whilst still challenging for a top 4/top 5 place this season. Even today people were commenting on the strength of the bench. Apart from Sesesegnon I cannot think of of sunderland player who could have walked into our staring 11. Pardumb’s mismanagement of the squad has been nothing short of criminal.

I’d get into a battle of wits with you but I don’t like to pick on the disabled.

Go and watch some football matches other than the odd Newcastle game illegally fed to your laptop.

You would think a team that has just won the last 3 home games, pushed a quality European team all the way and was welcoming back some big international players into the squad had a better chance than a bottom 4 club who hadn’t won in 10 and was playing away from home.

This game as many have been this season was lost in the dressing room, the tunnel and the touch line!

Do you think Mo Farrah would have blamed racing 3 days earlier of he hadn’t have won the gold? No. That’s his job, to run near marathons every week! That is what he is payed for!

So what now? We say to our players ok, we lost because you’re only paid 30k a week to play 1 game a week?

All the top teams play 2 games a week! It’s the conditioning, tactics and management that will see you fall or climb.

    You sir know nothing!

toonking the point is over the season it really doesn’t matter if we can finally put our strongest side out for 1 game that’d be like a pre-season game!
the point is we haven’t been able to do it for more than TWO games since the start of the season that is a massive issue that no 1 and i mean no 1 can deny!
every manager will say a good team is a settled team (look at the start of last season)!!
to blame pardew for the whole season is a joke!?
now if we had a mostly fit squad and for 6 months a squad that was capable of playing both the prem/cups and euro then yes in this bposition the manager is capable but he hasn’t thats a fact tell me another manager that would have performed better with the problems we,ve had!?

I said last night i didn’t get the praise for jonas. He isn’t in form, he was just not giving the ball away every time and that was it. He isn’t a full back, he isn’t a winger and he isn’t a centre mid.

He is a 29 year old washed up guy.

And his work ethic? people say he works hard, he usually does on the pitch but today he didn’t.

Also he cant work too hard in training if he has got to 29 and can’t cross a ball more than 3 feet off the ground.

Thoroughly likable guy but needs to go for somebody who offers quality.

That was absolutely SHOCKING!! we are going backwards under Pardew he does not know how to get the best out of the players that we have.all he does is play long ball bypassing our creative midfield players. what kind of a manager plays a centre defensive midfielder left wing its absolutely disgracefull!! we have no spark in the way we play. we cannot score from set pieces we cannot create chances for our stikers and we cannot link up play which begs me to question what we do on the training field. and as for the defence very poor. look at southampton they changed their manager they improved same with sunderland. we need a manager that goes to win games. he plays cabaye far too deep he would be more benefical further up the field with sissoko dropping back. if pardew was managing barcelona he would have them mid table. PARDEW OUT i hope ashley was at the game today. selling out 156 k in 3 games we deserve way better then that crap we are getting on the field. and for the people blaming the players pardew is the one that sets out the players he motivates them and tells them what they should do pardew has to go

Man i`m fed up with the excuses. He has a good LB with a left foot but still chooses to play Guti out of position.Brings in tiote back from injury who has been poor all season in front of Anita or Pearch who have looked better in that position.Plan A didn`t work to back to Shola

Our season’s over anyway. We won’t go down, but there needs to be a lot of changes in the summer. We should’ve been aiming for the top 4 this season, not the bottom 4 for christ sake.

Firstly how did Tiote get staying on the pitch, completely shite, can pass the ball 2 save himself, gives the ball away very cheaply, the man is a liability, perch would hav been a better option, secondly why play a midfielder at left back when ther’s a perfectly good left back (Haidara) on the bench, thirdly why play Sissoko as an attacker when he is a defensive midfielder, he should b playin more defensive letting cabaye push forward more and giv him the chance 2 create more, then 2 waste a substitution bringing on Ameobi, the man can’t move, and last but not least, do they work on corners in training, havnt scored from a corner all season, can’t c how pardew is gonna improve this team next season, thers no gameplan, no tactics at all, we hav some great players but being played out of position, Pardew hasn’t got a clue

so were you there today then or were you watching it on an illegal stream by the way i can afford sky sports!!
you’d also think a true supporter that “obviously” watches every game live would realise the troubles THE MANAGER OF THIS CLUB!!! has had this season but hey!? the EASIER way is to just slate him and not use your brain to actually see the much bigger picture!!

I think if you look at the majority of clubs you wont find many, if any, who have had the same team out two weeks in a row.

I do understand injuries have prevented us getting near to last season, i accept that, it hasn’t helped pardew at all.

But if we didn’t rely on the brilliance of one or two players in a game and we played better as team we would be higher up.

This was our team for man utd away

    01 Krul
    02 Coloccini
    03 Santon
    05 Simpson Booked
    06 Williamson Booked
    14 Perch
    08 Anita
    20 Bigirimana (Obertan – 65′ )
    22 Marveaux
    09 Cisse Booked (Sa Ameobi – 79′ )
    19 Ba (Sh Ameobi – 71′ )

No taylor, cabaye, tiote, ben arfa….4 huge players for us and it was arguably our best display of the season.

We have had better teams than that our at home to west ham, swansea, reading, sunderland, villa…and frm those 5 games we got 1 point, thats with a better team.

It’s all about how we approach games, we attacked man utd and although we lost, we really threatened. Now those sides above i mention haven’t got van persie, rooney, hernandez, wellbeck, valencia, nani, carrick…to score 4 past us like man utd did that day. We should have been more positive in a lot of games, even with a weakish side.

    Ibiza

I love you and know it is futile to ask you to join the ‘out’ campaign but how can you not look around Europe and think “he’d be good and we can certainly attract him!”?

Further to add to someone who mentioned Fran De Boer, he might’ve said he want’s a top European job of which there are only about 8 clubs that could be considered a top European job, but like Tiote, M’biwa, Cabaye, Sissoko, HBA etc… they knew the best way to get noticed isn’t to win the league in France of Holland but to do well week in and week out in the PL. it’s the only way to get noticed. That’s why they are here and that’s why we could attract Frank De Boer. Not because we are bigger than Ajax or CL football but because you get noticed in the PL.

If he turned us into a top 4 club playing, attractive football and dare I say winning silverware he would be closer to a top European club. His stock would rise as would ours meaning it would be easier to replace him in the event that he leaves to manage Man City.

It’s the exact same method we have with the playing staff so how could it not work with the manager?

How far away was Laudrup at the beginning of this season to managing a big European club?

How far away is he now?

Laurent Blanc, Frank De Boer, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Rudi Garcia, Allain Casanova god even Sammy Hyypia!

    😆

Just read in the last thread, Ibiza saying “….whilst we continue to rebuild….”.

What planet are some people on. If we’re rebuilding, then the foundations are on quicksand with Pardew in charge. Just hope, yes it is only hope as there’s not much else to base this on, that we keep our heads above water this season, then give him the boot. Seriously, he’s very good at constructing a veneer of competence, but really, he’s bereft and out of his depth, particularly with our current crop.

He should work in a mobile phone shop or something, more his forte I’d think.

The match was an utter embarrassment and that’s an understatement.
I would love to know who thinks who played well today. Ok HBA made a difference but the players around him offered nowt and just stood around at 3-0. The only players that know the importance of this game are Taylor and shola and they were shite today.

On Pardew, I fail to see how yet another loss is due to Pardew yet again. It’s not like Pardew says don’t give it your all, sit back hoof it up to field. He doesn’t like that. It’s the players mentality. Their attitude was appalling. Ok if we had a different manager he may of gave them a kick up the ass. I’m not a Pardew lover and I always said after PDC left Swindon he would be a great manager in the prem – even for nufc. But to blame Pardew after every loss is pathetic.

Sunderland deserved the win, credit to them and to Paulo di canio. Whats more frustrating is everyone were predicting 3-0 wins to toon and it ended up the other way and the 3% who voted for Sunderland to win were right ( who surely were mackems). Luckily there’s not a mackem in sight where I live. And we’ve got just less than a week to our next match. So this loss is gonna be on my mind all week.

There’s times where you love supporting the toon like last week against fulham but then there’s times where you become so depressed because of the performance and result today. FFS!!
on paper you look at the game and you think with the quality of our players we would smash sunderland and no one showed it today.

agree with above summer clear out. Jonas out, obertan out, tiote – if we can get an overpriced offer than sell him. otherwise drop him below perch and anita. williamson out, simpson out, and get rid of some of our overrated youngsters like sammy ameobi who will never make the cut. replace every player with quality players who have fight and passion! which we definately need atm. Taylors been showing that lately but wasnt at his best today.

Beattie…I feel the love, as I hope you do too.

Who knows? For me, Ashley isn’t a mug and he will always be looking at options. I don’t buy the whole 8 year contract, there will be ways if he wants.

We will get a new manager as and when Ashley sees fit, not when we tell him too. Whenever he’s bowed to fan pressure it’s gone badly, if I’m not mistaken.

Do I think Pardew is here for a long time? Probably not. I don’t think we, as fans, will have too much say on what happens. I think Pardew gets a pretty raw deal on here, as you know. Personally I will support him to the best of my ability, even though I do recognise his weaknesses, of which he does have.

What a deflating and gutting result, was feeling so positive not only about this game but about the rest of the season feel gutted

The easy thing today is flat out blame pardew, and he shoulder some blame he’s the manager
But the players were gutless today, honestly think we needed playa years like simmo or perch today players who know what this fixture means to the club the city and the fans, there was no effort no commitment no fight we just rolled over and let the fcuk us awful game

    Krul
Made a good stop, but that doesn’t make up for his continued p1ss poor distribution the ball comes to him and he aimlessly punts it wildly up the pitch even with Taylor and mbiwa offering the short ball, also think he should of got a hand on sessegnon’s goal

    Debuchy
Probably the only player who looked to make something happen today, unfortunately rose had the beating of him on cabs wild long range punts, unfortunately the lads seemed happy for him to attack but no one could be bothered to cover when he did

    Taylor
Gave a master class in why he will never be a top CB today, and why he’s been overlooked nationally for 10 years
Absolute sh1te, hot headed idiot today, got lucky the ref blew when he fell over, got lucky not to give away a stone wall pen, got nowhere near sessegnon for the first goal just skipped like a chubby ballerina across the edge of the box and didn’t put him under any pressure at all

    Yanga
Just looked lost today can’t really remember him doing anything tbh

    Guti
Had a mare today, terrible pass for the first goal, although tbf we had plenty back and should of dealt with it, kept getting caught on the ball and looked panicked today

    Tiote
Fcuk man utd coming in for him he’d be lucky if Macclesfield were interested, absolutely pathetic, can’t pass can’t tackle can’t run can’t shoot, how did he get the armband ffs? Watched Johnson for the second goal no attempt to close him down and the third he let sessegnon skip past him in midfield got back and let Vaughan walk past him and pull the trigger with out pressuring him at all, would gladly see the back off him

    Cabs
Useless today, rash in the challenges passing was all over the shop worst game in a toon shirt tbh

    Gouffran
Lucky to stay on the pitch all I got to say about him today he done nout else

    Sissoko
Frustrating, ran round like a headless chicken, never got his head up never passed it just ran until he hit a wall of defenders
He was like forest gump with a football

    Marv
Done okay some good set piece deliveries but didn’t get involved enough, have to question his fitness really

    Cisse
Fed up of seeing him stroll round, grinning like the Cheshire Cat but apparently he can’t look up the line to stay on side?
He needs to sort his sh1t out and quickly

    Elliot
Can’t fault him couldn’t do anything for the 2 goals solid performanc

    Shola
Couldn’t get into the game, whenever he got the ball no one gave him an option

    Benny
Not much he could of done the lads seemed happy to just watch him

Nah, the foreman is bodging the job, so much so a collapse is even possible.

You’re too fair, giving him too much leeway. I don’t like seeing managers sacked willy-nilly, but I believe, like many, the man isn’t up to scratch and I don’t want to see this squad of players wasted.

I hope he keeps us up then is duly shown the door. Can’t believe I’m saying “hope he keeps us up.” – it’s preposterous

In addition to the ridiculous play by utd, the video shows that Di Canio is a clown. Are you kidding me with that second “goal celebration”?

I’m wondering where are we going to get 6 more points?

All of our remaining matches are against teams above us in the form table.
