On the back of a stunning 3-0 loss to local rivals Sunderland – the news gets even worse for Newcastle, as Tim Krul is out for the season.
Tim Krul – in pain this afternoon – out for the season
The Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has told the press that Tim Krul has dislocated his shoulder , and after being back only four games from his ankle injury he sustained against Metalist Kharkiv – – he will miss the rest of the season.
Tim fell awkwardly when trying to get to a cross after 55 minutes of the game this afternoon against Sunderland, and it seems he fell on his shoulder and it’s dislocated.
Rob Elliot will come back into the side in place of Krul – for the remaining five league games of the season – and Newcastle still have some points to collect to be safe from relegation.
We are 5 points clear of the drop zone but third bottom Wigan now have two games in hand on Newcastle – and two wins will take them above us in the league table.
It never rains but it pours. đ

Comment #41i don’t expect him to go with two attacking midfielder but can you see him playing 3 front me?
this has been the major problem we are saying he just keeps wasting players by playing them OOP
cabaye CAM playing CDM
jonas winger and santon RB playing LB hadaira Lb on the bench
cisse CF playing out wide
sissoko CDM playing wide and forward
HBa left footed playing right wing and has to come in
the team is such a mess at the minute.

Comment #43And how was Jonas positioning when he lost the ball pardews fault? Jonas cuts infield every single game, so I fail to see how today was any different.
Also, your reference to disabled people is very inappropriate. I work with adults with aquired brain injuries do please don’t make.un of disabled people. You are not as funny or as clever as you think you are.

Comment #44Transfer…I hope that didn’t come across as me saying that. Was really only commenting on my feelings about Pardew, not who was the better fan – that is an argument I really don’t want to jump in, we are all fans of this club and chose to do things differently. Whilst I may not agree with some or their approach, it is their right and doesn’t make them any less of a fan imo.
I would expect people who were at the game today to be royally p*ss*d I was. Terrible performance with no fight in them. That for me, cannot just fall to Pardew. People can argue zonal defending methods, but sorry, surely they should still be trying to get in between the player and our own goal, not the other side? Plain stupidity.

Comment #47Looking at Transfer Sage’s Man Utd team, it really hits home how important Ba was for us. We miss him. Imagine how we’d be faring if he’d left during the summer. I’ll stop short of thinking how we’d be doing if he’d stayed…

Comment #48Newcastle reserved their worst performance of the season for their most important game, as the Tyne-wear derby ended up in home humiliation for United. It was a day when nothing went right for Alan Pardew’s side but they did very little to help themselves with a worryingly gutless performance, not aided by some baffling tactics.

I appreciate that, here’s another example then.
01 Krul
02 Coloccini
03 Santon Booked
05 Simpson (Ferguson – 82′ )
14 Perch
20 Bigirimana (Sh Ameobi – 82′ )
22 Marveaux (Tavernier – 88′ )
24 Tiote
25 Obertan
09 Cisse
19 Ba
Arsenal away, lost 7-3 but we showed up until they went head in the 75th minute, then caught on with 3 very late goals, that we were in the game.
And again, from those home games i said, none of those had half the quality of that arsenal team.
My point is not the results. I think the results could be better, and should be really, its more the performance.
Not just this year, last year also (where we just had 1 long term injury and no europa league).
It’s the fact that, in my view (i can’t prove this so wnt claim it as fact) that if we approached those home games, with the same attacking intent we did for that man utd game we would have got more than 1 point from those 5 home matches (west ham, swansea, sunderland, villa and reading).
All teams get injuries, and i accept we have had long term injuries to key players, ben arfa, cabaye and taylor the main ones. But we should still have done better in some, not all, of the games this season.

Comment #53Saddens mw to say WE WERE OUTCLASSED BY A TEAM THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE WORSE THAN US.
We were SHITE, SHITE, SHITE F***IN CLUELESS
WE WERE OUTPASSED, OUT EVERYTHING
Except
Giving the ball away STUPID needless freekicks.
We didnât look interested at times â maybe Thursday Sunday Thursday Sunday has got us tired â but I expected a lot more than the crap served up today
As for the manager show some passion like di’Canio he was pumped up and so was his team unlike Pardew – just stands there with his pen and paper or hands in pockets.
Starting to see it like some of the other bloggers on here seems clueless with tactics and teams set up
PLAY LIKE THAT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON THEN WE ARE DOOOOOOOOOOMED.
It was SHITE – still be playing till midnight and not score

Comment #54There’s no way we should have lose tonight and conceding 3 goals at home against a struggling team is just f**king brilliant.I blame Pardew simple, his mind boggling team against Benefica and now this sh*t, the fact we’ve got so many quality players and yet we’ve never been able to play good football is the proof of Pardew’s incompetence. I take a look at our remaining fixtures and we have Liverpool and Arsenal at home and i wont even go in our away fixtures considering we’ve only won 1 this season, i just hope we don’t f**k this up!

Missed the enquiry about the champagne the other night. Pleased we didn’t keep it for today, as we’d planned.
One of the things you and Jail seemed to have in common was that, while not feeling any particular confidence in Pardew, you feared what would be brought in instead.
Bills-son argued earlier today that the decision to appoint Kinnear was that Ashley felt he’d been boo-ed out of the club and didn’t want to lumber the selling process with a manager on a big contract, as he inherited. You’ve been pretty positive. Do you really think he’d employ a yes-man if he were to re-employ soon. I also wonder whether you think Pardew deserves another season, regardless?

Comment #57You cannot play a lone striker when the service is crap and he is not 6’4″ of pure muscle.
4-3-3 last season with Cabaye up top behind the cutting in of Ba and Benny supporting Cisse was the one time I thought ‘wow we can actually play”.
Why is Gouffran playing LM when he should be taking up that Ba position when we steamed past teams?
People can say he’s poor or expendable all they want but it’s another mark against Pardew for me.
Players playing in the wrong position. Today there were a total of 6 players out of position.
Guti is a LW not a LB.
Cabaye is a CAM not a CDM.
Sissoko is a CDM not a CAM.
Marveaux is a CAM/RF not a RM.
Gouffran is a CF/LF not a LM.
Cisse is a CF not a lone ST.
There is your answer. Not form, not individual error, not lack of service but all combined due to Pardews tactics bringing out the worst rather than the best.

Comment #59Pardumb has to go, he’s well out of his depths & is tactically inept. We need a manager in the form of a Laudrup, Martinez or de Boer who knows how to play good passing football & can benefit the players’ attributes to the maximum. Pardumb has lost the dressing room. The board & scouts have provided him with the players but he has failed to utilise them. Time to switch up MA!

Comment #66BandB…I’ll stay to discuss that, could use some rational discussion for a minute or two đ
I’m not sure Ashley could handle an outspoken manager. He likes things to be kept in house and imo will not tolerate someone who would bleat on, someone like say Di Canio.
I would fully expect any new manager to toe the line, at least to some degree, it seems to be the Ashley way.
What are your thoughts?

Yeh i fully understand pressure involved….but these guys have shown they can handle pressure in big games, came back against chelsea and southampton at home. We have handled ourselves well in some big european games this year.
I don’t think it’s just pressure that held us back in those games. I think it was the game plan to sit back and absorb pressure (that view comes from that being what we do in most games and before the man utd and arsenal game pardew said we would have a real go). So why can’t we have a go at home against a newly promoted team?
If we had a real go at those homes games could we have done much worse, no seeing as we only got one point.
My issue isn’t the results, we could get beaten attacking sides. I just think when we attack we look much better than when we sit back and that over a season an attacking game would see us win more points that a defensive game.

Comment #73Thought if we could win this game (39 points) we would be safe, but it looks like even QPR can beat us! WHU away next, I’m not looking forward to it.
We should just go 4-3-3. 4231 doesn’t work with the RM/LM (Marv + Goofy) tracking back, they are getting lost.
Elliot
Debuchy Taylor M’biwa HAIDARA
Cabaye ANITA sissoko
BEN ARFA cisse gouffran.
Jonas was playing well untill this game, but he shouldn’t start, play a LEFT FOOTER at LB Pardew. I have defended Pardew all season but we have a near full strength squad and we lost 3-0 at home to THAT team! I’m afraid his days as Newcastle manager are numbered! I really thought we had something steady and to build on after last season but it turns out it was a fluke.

I wasn’t being derogatory to disabled people just being derogatory to you.
What I pointed out was that someone with disabilities of the mind may not be able to convey certain points as easy as someone who is not affected. That isn’t being rude or abusive to suffers its pointing out a fact.
Much like if I was to say you hit like a girl. That isn’t being offensive to women, it’s being offensive to you as it is widely considered that women, for the most part, do not hit as hard as men. Are women offended by that? I doubt it. Only you would you ignorant prick.
It’s as people say if a white person is offended by a remark they claim to be racist but not relating to their race and not presented in a racist way then when who is the racist? The abuser or the abused?

Comment #79as much as carroll is not the best of forward their is one thing i see him having that most forwards don’t have and that is localness because he will be much more determined to avoid getting a defeat than a foreign player. foreign players don’t know how the fans feel like the british lad do. beside giggs and scoles are nowhere near the quality they used to be but they still are in the manure team because of the attitude they have the same thing with terry and lampard at chelsea and gerrard at liverpool. that is why i would love to see carroll come back.

Comment #80Very infrequent poster but i have for a long time stated Pardew is not a good enough manager.
Persistently plays square pegs when he has available the right options.
Good players turned to poor players is not good management skills.
He also lacks tactical skill but more importantly the balls to win. He hides behind factors that all squads encounter. Just wait for his post match excuses after this shambles.
Sissoko is NOT a CAM. He is a CDM capable of doing box to box.
Anita is miles better than tiote.
Cisse needs to learn the offside rule.
HBA should have started today.
Shola is way past PL elvel of football but yet AP believed and bought into the stupid hype of the mackem slayer bull. As fior the subs. What affect will hooking Gouffran have on him as a new player to NUFC. Not exactly good morale boosting management skills shown today.
Now its all about opinions and there are AP believers posting but seriously though AP is simply crap. Considering why he was brought in the football has NOT improved and anyone who thinks otherwise obviously does not know football.
Overall the current squad is the best assembled in a good long while and is good enough but the management of it is woeful. Injuries or not.
Relegation still hangs over the club like a sickness and MA must act and terminate APâs job at end of season and install Blanc.
Another point is can anyone on here whomis pro Pardew tell me why he should remain charge and list the skills he has to take an excellent squad to the next level and perform to the maximum. List the Pro’s for Pardew to stay. There won’t be many.
As for Ibiza – please come off your fence for once. You are not working in the Foreign Office where diplomacy is key.
Blanc is the available option for me to deliver results and here’s hoping MA realises AP is not the man for the job.
