Being accidently used in a slimfast ad is too good for Ashley.

    JFA
    Bout the same mate tbf
But can’t see it happening which is why I’m living in my bubble of hope that we get shot of the staff from carver to the tea lady, bring in either a) a young continental manager who wants to make a name, say from the top 8 in Spanish/German or French league, have him work under pardew and a new scouted team give pards til Xmas, if he can’t change his style/philosophy of football get rid and we have a ready made manager at the club already
    B) the same but someone who’s an assitant at a top 4 club
    Fingers fcuking crossed eh! ;)

  • 3 Jackel001 // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:43 PM

Soooo he now blames the PITCH! Jeeze. And a force next season? Concentrate on this season eh!

  • 4 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:45 PM

Quick one for everyone who’s main issue with pardew is him having ‘undroppable’ players who shouldn’t be in the team and in the same sentence call for Benitez…..

    Torres

    That is all

  • 5 Jail for Ashley // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:45 PM

    Jacke,
If it’s not the Senagalese FA or the Europa league then it must be the pitch.

I can’t see pardew going either but i never saw houghton leaving.

I think ashley is smart with his money and if he thinks a new manager could do with 10 mil what pardew would do with 20/30 then he might look to get rid.

  • 7 89Norcal // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:49 PM

Pardew may have been largely responsible for our 3-0 to the Scum, but I dont see how anyone can blame him for the draw vs WBA. There were a handful of chances that our players made a mess of or just didn’t finish with; Cisse’s chip and Saylor’s chance inside 12 yards come to mind…

I suppose I would take Rafa over Pardew, but who knows if he would come. ffs some people here were calling for Martin Jol just 3 months ago, where are they now? We have to make sure the new manager is better.

  • 8 Jackel001 // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:50 PM

Yeah I know ha. I backed him all season but yesterday just p!ssed me off so much. It was obvious that west brom were going to change it but we did nothing. So frustrating!

  • 9 Novocastrian66 // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:54 PM

First time I have seen that as I do not watch MOTD. Thought it was a good interview, he admitted that the the technical side of our game wasn’t good enough. Thought he was fairly honest.

  • 10 Big Pappa Cissé // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:56 PM

    @ tads

Maybe that has something to do with the Russian billionaire owner dropping £ 50 million quid on him :) . If I was manager there I would fear for my job if I dropped Torres, despite Ba being the better player.

  • 11 santonthenewmaldini // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:58 PM

I personally would like us to have a team capable of playing different styles but everyone one of them based on getting goals and bodies into the box Man Utd are probably the best at this they can play silky football but also they can do direct with lots of long balls and crosses into the box people forget Keegan’s and SBR were very direct at times as well we scored a lot of goals with a goal kick and then a flick on to the other striker boom goal our from crosses from the wings

West Brom done this well they recognized trying to play through us on the deck did not work so they went really direct against us putting a big striker on our left back and then getting Long to chase down the knock downs nearly worked for them

For this reason I want us to sign Carroll but I also want us to sign us to sign a proper fast striker like Remy/Bellamy/Long/Suarez someone who is a constant pest who does not give defenders any time to relax

We could go for this in the summer :

    Carroll 10 million
    Remy 5 million
    Weimann 3 million
    Scott Sinclair 5 million
    Sane 5 million
    De Jong 8 million

    If we then sold :

    Colo 2 million
    Tiote 8 million
    Jonas 2 million
    Obertan 1 million
    Gosling 1 million

This is the type of revamp we need in the squad we stood still in the summer and if we dont properly invest this summer we will be struggling to keep up with even the promoted teams rumours have it Cardiff’s manager has been told he has 30 million to spend so we need to be spending at least the same amount as well as players getting sold as well!!!

Obviously we wont get all of the above but we need a good combination of players we need pace and strength but we also need players who can score from free kicks and win things in the air as we get lots of set pieces but do nothing with them if we had someone to deliver and score from them its another weapon that we can use against teams who are difficult to break down when the passing game goes wrong

Obviously Pardew might not be the man to make it a success with the new players either David Moyes on a free transfer in the summer!!!Yas!

  • 12 Jail for Ashley // Apr 21, 2013 at 4:58 PM

    Top manager :
Mike you promised me four quality players in the summer.
    Mike Ashley :
    No I didnt
    Top manager :
Yes you did, see you later you fat lying
    cnut.
    Alan Pardew :
Mike you promised me four quality players in the summer.
    Mike Ashley :
    Shut up Alan.

    I stopped listening to Pardew’s post match interviews months ago. I bet some boffins somewhere could come up with a “Pardew interview generator” by inputting the following variables;

    current injuries
    midweek game played or not
    home or away
    the result of the match.

  • 17 bills-son // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:04 PM

Fans wanting Laudrup as manager are judging him on one decent season. Pardew finished 5th last year, Swansea will be lucky to finish in the top 10.

Martinez might take Wigan down and some fans want him?

    Big gambles both of them.

  • 18 89Norcal // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:04 PM

All of you lambasting Pardew just because you’re angry we dropped points vs a team like WBA need to watch a replay. It’s not Pardew’s fault our players didn’t finish clinically. We should have been 2-0 or 3-0 up at half time.

We were actually very good in the first half. The second half my only criticism was not getting Hatem involved enough. He came on around 75′ and was not able to impact the game.

  • 19 Jail for Ashley // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:05 PM

Something tells me there won’t be a chorus of Alan Pardews black and white army next Saturday.

  • 20 Fridge // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:06 PM

Rafa Benitez has just come out and said pre Liverpool game that he will be a manager 100% for sure next season. Now where is another question. Is it with us?

  • 21 DanRo // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:06 PM

I think a lot of NUFC fans have unrealistic expectations.
I have read 2-3 blogs in the last few days which have made comment that NUFC should aim to finish in the top 6. In reality is this plausible?

I doubt it. Last season was fantastic and full credit to the players and staff – but it was rare occasion when the top teams monopoly on the top 5-6 positions in the league was broken.

This season has been disappointing, however, as a comparison to last season I think NUFC overachieved, this season NUFC have underachieved. An interesting debate would be to discuss NUFC’s par position – I would suggest 7-8th place.

There are many reasons for the underachievement which I and many bloggers have discussed in previous posts. Despite this, I still do not think NUFC will, nor should stray from our philosophy with regards to buying players and maintaining the overall health of the club.

With regards to the manager, continuity is in my opinion, the only way to try to challenge the top teams whilst remaining under financial constraints. Everton, I feel are a prime example of this and although I do not want to play the brand of football that they’re currently displaying, I envy their consistency and continuity.

If I could open the debate as to what perhaps NUFC’s par position would be that would be great.
Perhaps Ed could introduce a new thread?

Liverpool are into gear now. We are going to get mullered on Sunday..

  • 23 Jail for Ashley // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:11 PM

    89coral,
You’re right we should have been a couple ahead but the fact that he couldn’t motivate the team to play in the second half and that he took off the 21 year old natural left back to accomodate the 47 year old looking right midfielder suggests the guy has lost the plot.

  • 24 magpiemover // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:11 PM

its not the chances we mist is was the subs he made and his negativity on how we sat back and defended and invited pressure on to us , and lump ball football

Can’t wait to get Benitez in he’s the polar opposite to pardew

(Yes I am aware they have just won a penalty and hazard has scored it just making a point on tactics ;) )

Wonder what Suarez can conjure up next from his box of dastardly acts? Must be about time he spat in someones face, that should just about give him the full house. Punching a referee?, Parking in Disabled bays? Throwing a bag of puppies in the sea? the mind boggles.

We have to drop this Jekyll and Hyde mentality over our play.

In the first half at West Brom we worked hard and hassled, scored a goal and should have got another 2.

Second half, nothing. No attacking, just back off and defend deeper and deeper. Any one remember Reading?

The West Brom game was one that we should have won and put relegation worries well behind us.

Sorry but on our present form and management philsophy I can’t see any decent players being remotely interested in joining us in the summer. I can see some of our players wanting away though.

  • 73 Sack Llambias // Apr 21, 2013 at 5:48 PM

Thanks for the “not completely ignorant” comment. Its always nice to be almost tolerated by the self styled blog intelliegentsia. I could talk in depth about my IQ, qualifications, job etc but why should i bother? You are a very arrogant person my friend. Look, i’m typing on my phone, making loads of mistakes and its taking forever but i will make one more point to clear this up. There is a online movement building momentum and founded by a recruitment ‘guru’ named Andy Patridge and endorsed by a number of leading psychologists. The central theme of which is the idea of ‘Building an Enviable Workplace’ and developing emotional intelligence in teams. They conclude, using evidence from various comprehensive studies, that motivation does not come from financial reward, praise, public recongnition, benefits etc; but from an ability to get emotional buy-in from individuals in a team. This can be achieved primarily by identifying commonalities in culture, values, beliefs, treating with respect and decency, honesty etc, etc. However, my point is this. By recruiting local players you generally assume that this emotional attachment is pre-existing, thus making integration into the team and establishing buy-in easier. It does not mean you cannot get this from foreigners or players from other regions- but it may take longer. It seems you are a foreign NUFC supporter. If my fellow geordies have made you think you are a second class fan then i apologise on their behalf- but thats not me, so please dont judge me. And please try not to assume you know what others are thinking :-)

Rodgers lying threw his teeth and trying to bring up other incidents during the game utter bell end

Benitez also claims he never saw it I bet he would have seen it if it wasn’t a Liverpool player

Can anybody please explain to me how Spurs who were very unlucky not to qualify for CL football last year set their stall out to have another go at it, where as us who finished just one place behind them decided that a top eight finish would he good enough to be changed to it doesn’t matter as long as we don’t get relegated.

If Pardew had not gone defensive we would have won, If he can stay away from the Liverpool game we will have a good chance, if he is sacked we will have good chance. If he stops spouting excuses it will be a miracle!

What does Pardew write in his note book during the match, is it a list of excuses?

Coming next week after Newcastle’s lacklustre performance against Liverpool: The team need time to gel, next season we’ll see a real team with shape.

Also in the pipeline, coming next season: the players need time to adjust to the premier league.

Here’s more excuses we can expect:
    There’s not enough English players
They won’t let us cross it
    It’s too cold up north
    It’s not being in Europe
I got the tactics, team talk, squad selection and substitutions wrong again

I was only joking with the last one.
