Newcastle Need Experience – Most Goals Conceded In League

It was the worst home defeat by Newcastle since 1925 and if that sounds bad – well it was even worse than that, when you had to watch it, heaven knows what it was like for people actually at the game.

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Newcastle United v Liverpool - St James' Park

James Perch – his look sums it up

Never have I seen Newcastle side so weak at the back, where it looked like any time Liverpool would attack they would score.

So what was Alan Pardew, and the players doing all ast week – since it seems the lads were just not prepared or not ready for the game.

We have three games left, and we suppose all we can do is try top pick up some points – but it will not be easy.

But we need to pack the side with first team Premier League experience for the last three games.,

Fabricio Coloccini must come back to lead the team, and it will be good to have Danny Simpson at right back for the West Ham game in place of the suspended Mathieu Debuchy.

And it may even be good to recall Steve Harper in goal, simply because of his vast experience.

When things are crumbling around you,  like they were yesterday, you cannot expect inexperienced players like Haidara and Elliot to do much – they just seemed shocked – but experiences players can calm things down.

But we hardly expect Alan Pardew to leave Elliot on the bench next Saturday.

Colo seems to be the main man who could perhaps bring some semblance of order to a defense that has now conceded 66 goals this season, the highest number of goals conceded in the Premier League.

If we lose our final three games and are relegated, there’s a case to be made that we deserve it.

What do you think?

Doesnt Pardew take training now because we aren’t involved in the Europa league because that says it all.

It’s too late in the season to get rid of pardew. If we did we would be stuck with carver, stone or Beardsley taking over for the last 3 games and I don’t think any of them are capable.

Unfortunately we are stuck with pardew for the last 3 games like it or not. The only thing we can do about it is to stay behind the team and pray to god that Wigan and villa don’t pick up any points.

iv’e said this time and time again we need to approach a 4-3-1-2 formation end of.

we have no wingers that do there job, HBA is best at AMC

    Elliot
    simpson, colo, MYM, haidara
    cabaye, anita, sissoko
    HBA
    goofy, cisse

he may as well try this since Pardew is lousy developing 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1.

if everyones fit, the next games we need to go for it, none of this defend first nonsense.

    Elliot
    Mbiwa, Taylor, Colo, Haidara
    Sissoko, Anita
    Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Gouffran
    Cisse

maybe swap Cabaye and Anita, with Marv in the advanced role.

No Tiote, No Jonas, both need to be benched, then bring them on for 20mins if need be.

Although I’ve tried to offer some balance on Pardew I’ve made both of these comments many times – we have no leaders in the side and our midfield doesn”t protect the back four anywhere near enough. Pardew tried to protect the defence with Tiote and Perch yesterday and it was shambles – they didn’t do that and offered nothing creatively.

The way I see it is that Wigan and Villa are far more likely to get the 6 and 4 points that they need to go above us than we are to get the 3 needed to probably be safe.

    Absolute nightmare.

i hope all the pardew fans out there finally realize where he’s taking newcastle to… the championship!

pardew makes the worst tactical decisions ever!
he must go as soon as we’re safe if we’re gonna be safe..

also the following players are not good enough and should be sold as they will never be top players:

    debuchy
    gouffran
tiote (what the f has happened to him, our worst player of the season by miles)
    jonas
    anita
    obertan

we should build our team around the following players (who despite our current form i still think are good enough or showing potential):

    krul
    santon
    saylor
    mbiwa
    haidara
    bigirimana
    sissoko
    perch
    marveaux
ben arfa? (still not sure if he’ll ever come good)
cabaye? (also not sure if he’s committed enough to nufc)
    cissé
    campbell

pardew cannot put out a decent line-up.
too defensively and look how good we are at defending!!
pardew plays to our weaknesses instead of to our strengths…
we should be practising simple passing which under pardew we clearly do not do!
if fools can see that pardew is not the man to take us forward, surely mike ashley must see it too!

i hope we can get the points necesseary to survive asap so we can finally get rid of the least courageous manager i’ve ever seen at st james’.

even souness, roeder or kinnear had more guts than pardew. he’s a fkn pathetic crying sissy

We need one thing. New manager.

He did say he wanted to change the way we play but lacked the material before january. He got the players, and somehow these players have gone from good looking to absymal. Sissoko isn’t even close to his level… That’s all on Pardew my friends.
And yeah… still no change in how we play. Lying impostor!

I don’t think carver/stone etc are better but just different.

Yesterday wasn’t just tactical, it was a defeat which showed me the players no longer want to play for pardew (i made the opposite comment to that on the very morning of the game v liverpool, how wrong i was).

With him gone the players may just get a boost and get the 1 win we need to be safe.

Elliot can’t be blamed, our defensive setup was in the wrong position and leaving far to much space between them, they were relaying on playing to offside trap that didn’t work and our fullbacks stayed up field hoping for a counter attack but it never happened

Ironic that people are discussing summer signings and we’ve had thoughts on which players we shouldpick up from Villa, QPR etc.If we are relegated it’s frightening to think of what players we’d be left with, let alone which new ones would want o come to us. I reckon we could end up with the following:
    STAYERS:
    Elliott
    Perch
    Ferguson
    Tavernier
    Shola
    Sami
    Gosling
    (R. Taylor)
    Dummett etc.
    GONE:
    Krul
    Debuchy
    Colo
    Mapou
    Jonas
    HBA
    Cabaye
    Sissoko
    Marveaux
    Santon
    Tiote
    POSSIBLES:
    Saylor
    Haidara
    Goufran
Not much to cheer about, is it. Unlike last time when we kept Colo, Jonas etc I don’t think any of our “purples” will stay.
And like others I can’t see us getting any more points this season so we are desperately hoping that Villa or Wigan implode. Sad times.

I also think that a new man in charge now could boost the squad. If you get rid of Pardew i think some of the players will lighten up a bit only from that.
Sub the first players that doesn’t show work ethic against West Ham even if it’s only 15min into the match.
This is not the time to please players but to save the club. Hard work, war and a will to win is what we need.

Even if the unlikely does happen and Ashley wields the axe on Pardew whilst paying out a lot of compo. Who would we get in, someone to finish the season i’m guessing then find a permanent manager in the summer.

Other than Beardsley stepping up, I can’t see anyone doing it. Di Matteo unlikely, Shearer no chance, Keegan no chance.

The summer could be a great time to look at a change.

Moyes out of contract, Blanc possibly. Depending on who comes up from Championship, Poyet and Zola are exciting young managers. Then there’s the local hero option of Lee Clark, who with a very limited budget has had a solid season at Brum.

Yesterday if I was in steven taylor’s position I would have walked into that dressing room after the game, told every single player, Pardew as well to shut up and given them an absolute dressing down for yesterday. He may make mistakes but yesterday he was the only one with fight,

Mbiwa and haidara were attrocious, little effort. Then debuhcy got himself sent off, you never tackle like that when booked unless you trying to get a red.

Taylor should have blasted them, he is as much a fan as any of us and watching the way those clowns played yesterday, no matter what they are doing (trying to get the manager out) it’s unacceptable, especially when in this position.

I’d be shocked if taylor didn’t do that knowing the lad, also wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple black eyes monday morning in training (not condoning that at all but i could see it after yesterday)

what makes things worse is that Liverpool exploited our weakness all over the pitch and now other managers will seek this advantage against us end off.

my prediction is that we are gonna concede over 73 goals by the end of the season or even more.

Obviously we’re a complete pile a shite at the worst possible time and frankly so bad it’s impossible for me to have any clear idea as to how it’s happened. But one look at the table and remaining fixtures would tell you if we did go down we’d well and truly deserve to.

That was surely by far the worst performance by any team in the EPL all season. Even so, we’ll almost certainly collapse over the line whether we deserve it or not.

Then again, it most likely won’t do us any good, cos you surely wouldn’t back this lot to turn it around next season after what’s gone on this time round.

Only be a one year pay out which is 400k….not much to get rid in the grand scheme of thing…get more than that in prize money for each league position.

also no good manager would take us on now, be too difficult and not worth the risk. Plenty options in the summer if we stay up though.

I think getting rid now can’t be any worse, at least carver might let them play and that could give them the boost knowing they have that monkey off their back.
