Magpies Hitting Worst Form At The Exact Wrong Time

9:28 am, Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 29 Comments

Since Newcastle have lost the last two home league games by a cumulative score of 9-0, and were booed off the field on both occasions, it would not be surprising if there are splits developing in the Newcastle dressing room.

alan pardew - oh no

Alan Pardew demonstrates how Newcastle fans feel like

And if that’s the case, that would not be good, although Alan Pardew has held some meetings this week so that players can air their grievances to the manager and to the other players.

Newcastle must play a lot better than in recent games, if we are to get some points in the last three games of the season, otherwise we could be relegated and to call that being a complete humiliation of Newcastle would be expressing it lighlt.y

And Newcastle seem like they are racing to the bottom, and are now in 4th place since Monday night – the lowest we have been all season – with the worst goal difference (-23) we’ve had all season, and it would not be the first time that an unsuspecting team gets caught at the end. and are surprisingly relegated.

That can happen to Newcastle this month.

What matters now is which of the teams fighting relegation is in form – and that cannot be said for Newcastle.

Aston Villa on the other hand are playing some of their best football, and moved above Newcastle on Monday night with a 6-1 thrashing of Sunderland – who hammered us 3-0.

In fact what can be said is two of our last three appearances have been the worst this season – and for many seasons – and maybe that’s why we are not too confident of the team being to pick up many points in the last three games.

We’d like to be more positive, but we’re also realists and what happened on Saturday against Liverpool was a catastrophic disaster for Newcastle United.

We’re not being negative – but we are being realistic – and that’s what’s worrying us so much this week. :(

    Look at these 2 managers

    Vladimir petkovic
    Vincenzo montella

Why can’t we have some like these 2

“Alan Pardew will tell you that he tries to play good football – That’s rubbish, he plays long ball football. It’s very direct, there is no creativity in midfield, he just wants to play route one football. Every time I’ve seen his teams play, they play that way but he’ll say in the Press ‘we play good football.’ At times he can be a conman.” –

ex player and pundit Stewart Robson when Pardew was appointed as Newcastle United’s manager.

Wy would we want the fat Spanish waiter in charge … Yes he did well at Liverpool but got very lucky (a bit like Pards first season) and he spent loads of money on very average players …. Someone new and up and coming with a footballing outlook ! The Germans are doing great at the moment any young managers over there ?

I’ve got to admit, as hard as it is to support the toon right now, I’ve never seen so many people just give up. Your all having a go at the players and the manager for given up last sunday. But from what i’ve seen the Majority of you fans have given up as well. We are not down yet and if we get behind the team and give them some motivation instead of hammering them all week they’ll have a much better chance of a win. It’s clear the majority of you would be useless in a crisis. Shitting your kegs and admitting defeat with three games to go. Get behind the team, If we go down then we can hammer them. But until then show a bit of common sense!

    Did you guys see what The Sun is reporting about Ben Arfa ? it might be pure nonsense cause its The Sun but have a read;

  • 9 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 9:37 AM

Jesper…How’s things? I’m with you, I know Ashley has been known to be involved in some blunders for sure, but if reports are to be believed, then surely they would just fire him now.

If he knows his job is over, surely he would just be destructive?

That is unless he’s getting promoted within the set up.

Blaydon…His CV is decent, can’t get away from that, but I don’t find him a very inspiring choice. I imagine if people had been asked about Benitez a year ago fans would be less enthused about him.

exactl awtoon, we ar not down yet.. we can and will still beat the drop, we need to get a new manager in the summer to bring us a better style of foootball which best suits our best players

    @8…No picture – no story… :) Phew!!

  • 12 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 9:43 AM

Awtoon…I do agree. It’s hard right now to have faith, but what other option is there at the minute?

  • 13 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 9:43 AM

did very well at valencia too….he is a good manager and if we scout the players and he agrees to not total control the one big weakness, transfer market, wont be exposed.

Anything can be leaked, his agent may have mentioned it to try and see if anyone else wants him and offer more money etc.

Just ties in with sky sports news a few months ago reporting he wants to stay in prem next year….where else would he go if not us?

  • 14 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 9:43 AM

Ha ha…they put him in a PSG top. Now I’m convinced.

  • 15 Indian Magpie (HD_07 on Twitter) // May 1, 2013 at 9:46 AM

    On a different Note

I think we should break the bank (relatively speaking) for this player, SC Freiburg are a selling club and i am sure we can get him. Absolute superstar this guy will be

    Matthias Ginter

  • 16 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 9:46 AM

i don’t mind him wearing a different kit for the gym, as long as he is wearing ours on saturday at 3pm he could warm up in a mackem kit for all i care.

Rumours for the 1 year payout on pardew to kick in it depends on league position….so maybe ashley has to wait to save himself 6 years pay out.

  • 17 Indian Magpie (HD_07 on Twitter) // May 1, 2013 at 9:48 AM

Other freiburg players we can look at

    Jonathan Schmid
    Max kruse
    Oliver sorg
    Cristian Gunter

  • 18 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 9:49 AM

TS…Maybe. I suppose we shall see. I’m not going to base an opinion on a fair few rumours which could be well wide of the mark.

cannot believe negativity of some on this site…
bookiies have wigan well odds on for drop …yes toon have difficult games but so have wigan and villa ….if toon dont beat qpr away i would understand doom and gloom …picture could be a whole lot different on mon …remember wigans last game is against villa that could end up as decider ..both cannot win

  • 20 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 9:53 AM

exactly…i don’t blame you at all. Nobody knows for certain except a very few who probably won’t speak about it.

  • 21 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 9:54 AM

    TS…Please blame me :)

    Outside…I can’t believe that you can’t believe!

  • 22 outsidethebox // May 1, 2013 at 9:55 AM

    transfer sage …
    agree re ben arfa
sure i read ap has 8 year deal but that includes a one year pay off ..
i have said in past we need a coach more than a manager

  • 23 stuart no9 // May 1, 2013 at 9:55 AM

the problem is ed, for most of this season and last, a lot of us could see what was happening , the guys that couldnt and thought we were just doom and gloom merchants, labelled us as neggers.
At the time we were just being realistic , and the other guys , a little more optimistic than we were , even though there was no evidence to be optimistic, however , neggers we were.
2 years down the line , reality has set in and hopefully “neggers” can be a word of the past. realists sounds a lot more”adult.
So being realistic- i think we are down, why should i think any other ? .
We need 4 points from 2 away games ( arsenal dosnt count as we will no doubt get a good bloody hiding off them too ) looking back over the season, and our away form, where is 4 points coming from , weve hardly got 4 points all season , so now pards is going to wave his magic wand and do what he hasnt done all season- set his team out to win? i cant see it , not just that , he has to pick them up first, 11 players feeling as low as they have ever felt in their professional lives and it is down to him to “motivate ” them? he couldnt do it for a derby 6 pointer, what chance has he got? IF we stay up, it wont be because we have deserved it by getting points, it will be because wigan blew it. it is down to us 2.

  • 24 jimmysmith // May 1, 2013 at 9:55 AM

Well, at the very least, if the Porky Spaniard did replace Pards the players wouldn’t have to worry any longer about the gaffer backdooring them with the missus.

    Pards, you dog!

  • 25 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 9:58 AM

Stuart…Firstly, I will apologise. Some of the ways everyone has acted the past 2 years towards each other has been extremely childish.

However, I do think that goes both ways.

Granted our situation is not good. Some of us prefer to be optimistic, some prefer to be negative. The realism more than likely sits somewhere between the two.

  • 26 AwToonnufc // May 1, 2013 at 10:01 AM

Ibizatoon….I think fair enough laying into the players and the manager for the first couple of days after the loss…they’ll expect it and deserve it. It’s the people that have given up on the team saying calling all our players, wanting the manager sacked….We all agree that pardew needs to go….But we need him to stay until the end of the season as its no good getting rid of him now….My problem is with negative people…Being negative isn’t helping anyone it’s only making things worse….So these apparent fans have admitted defeat already as they are willingly making things worse….It could just be out of ignorance and not understanding what there doing. Like i said its hard to be positive but it’s literally the only thing that fans can do to benefit a team.

  • 27 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 10:04 AM

AwToon…I tried to make that case the other day. Let’s say most of us were in fact wrong, what’s the point in giving up now? Can we feel any worse in 3 games time by keeping going?

Seems like an extremely small victory to give up now to be able to say you knew what was coming.

  • 28 AwToonnufc // May 1, 2013 at 10:13 AM

    Couldn’t agree more..

  • 29 stuart no9 // May 1, 2013 at 10:41 AM

ibiza— apologise ? dont think i ever seen anything written from you to warrent an apology
AWtoonnufc—–” your problen with negative people” – you mean ” realistic” people” ?
