Newcastle’s Three Strips For Next Season

6:32 am, Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 94 Comments

We showed the potential Newcastle home strip for next season last week, and another batch of the home, second and third strips are  now doing the rounds on the internet – and they don’t show Wonga on the shirts – and the home strip seems to be quite a bit different.

nufc shirt 1

The new set of strips do not have WONGA on them

nufc shirt 3

This strip is the away strip

nufc shirt 2

And this strip could be the third strip

The two strips below are the ones we published last week, and they are different to the home strip shown at the top, in both where the stripes are positioned and also with  the collar, and also the sleeves - in other words almost completely different – and it’s difficult to know if they are authentic.

We like the ones below.

    awful strips

  • 3 jimmysmith // May 1, 2013 at 6:38 AM

The home kit always looks great, while the away and change always blow. Although on this occasion the home kit emblazoned with our new toerag sponsorship is waiting patiently in the wings ready to suck at a moments notice.

The away strip looks like it should be worn at construction sites.

  • 5 fastcatmiles // May 1, 2013 at 6:43 AM

    The third strip, rather.

looks like puma put in as much effort with these shirts as we did against liverpool on saturday absolutly none!!!!

dont think too many people read the previous post now, so im gonna write my comment here
although Benitez would definitely be an upgrade on Pardew, i’d rather want a german or english manager, or maybe a dutchman, and i also think we should look at the german market for players, their physical level is about up to the PL and they have great skills as well… and also, they dont choke like french

  • 9 Jail for Ashley // May 1, 2013 at 7:34 AM

I’m a bit worried visits to our hapless managers former ‘manor’ have included conceding to lots of five and seven and yet we go darn sarf with all that extra travel for our weary squad looking for only our second away win off thevseason.

  • 10 corkypants85 // May 1, 2013 at 7:46 AM

we will be fine!!!! 2-0 on sat cisse and moussa

  • 11 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 7:46 AM

Just got off the phone with my friend at the club…he was saying the club is rife with stories of benitez coming in this summer, providing we stay up. It is fully expected to happen and was meant to be under wraps, however somebody on benitez’s side has leaked it and this is why the players seem to have given up on Pardew.

Never 100% on things but he seemed pretty confident that the club will move very quickly after the arsenal game.

  • 12 corkypants85 // May 1, 2013 at 7:47 AM

    hope everything went well ed!

  • 13 corkypants85 // May 1, 2013 at 7:57 AM

sounds promising that pardews going then at the end of the season what does everyone think of rafa?

not my first choice but i would defo be happy

  • 14 Jail for Ashley // May 1, 2013 at 7:58 AM

    Transfer,
The plot thickens ,I can’t see it myself though,I was listening to total sport the other day and John Ando fairly rubbish the reports, and he’s normally quite close.

  • 15 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:01 AM

    jail

yeh i listen a lot of nights to that and ando is pertty spot on…never seems to know definite names/incomings but tends to know a lot of who isn’t coming or other inside things…he is good for it.

I have my doubts just going off what I heard. I’d love to see it, he is a top coach and if willing to work with graham carr/our other scouts it’s good. Also he won’t just sit there and take not getting players in…he will let Ashley know.

  • 16 Marty-Toon // May 1, 2013 at 8:01 AM

Benitez won’t wanna come without getting at least what shearer wanted 25 mill every summer.
Don’t think thick mike will change his strategy
Rafa won’t come if we go down so nothing wrapped up

  • 17 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:02 AM

    corky

would be good enough for me anyway. Not sure of names as don’t watch tons of european football but can’t imagine we would get anyone with as good a record as rafa…could gamble on a younger manager but you never know what you get then…least we know with rafa.

  • 18 jimmysmith // May 1, 2013 at 8:02 AM

Have we ever had a manager of the calibre of Rafa. Even Sir Bobby was considered by many to be past his best when he took the reins, although he did indeed silence the doubters.

Would be a huge coup and genuine show of intent from the owner – so a long shot then, let’s face it.

  • 19 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:03 AM

    marty

He seemed to think it was wrapped up but depended on us staying up…so if we up he definitely comes in.

He will want some money but if we broke even last year with no big sales and an extra 20mil in tv money not inconceivable we could spend 20mil a year as we’d be no worse off than now.

  • 20 Jail for Ashley // May 1, 2013 at 8:07 AM

    TS
Unfortunately that’s the exact very reason Pardew was brought in,instead of making a scene he is more comfortable with telling us fans he didn’t think the team needed new players, this is of course after being promised new players and telling us about it.

  • 21 Lilongwe Geordie // May 1, 2013 at 8:07 AM

    Sage,
Interesting, while I can see some of the appeal to Benitez, and can certainly see the appeal to Newcastle it would still be a surprising move. Benitez fits the bill perfectly except for the fact he won’t be cheap. He certainly will have a point to prove after the way Chelsea fans have treated him, and i think he realises that, like at Liverpool, if he wins a trophy here he will be adored by the fans, and held on the highest pedestal.

It would also demonstrate Ashleys ambition for the club. Benitez won’t come unless he knows he has money to spend. And Ashley won’t be able to make him the lowest paid manager in the league.

I’d be pleasantly surprised if it did happen, although if it has been leaked, and the players know, then Pardew should go now as they obviously didn’t play for him last game, and 3 more like that could see us down.

  • 22 corkypants85 // May 1, 2013 at 8:10 AM

yeah i would defo be happy he would be the best manager we have had in a age!

  • 23 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:12 AM

    lilongwe

in between the two hammerings at home we had a great 45 mins at west brom and if we had taken those 2 chances we really should have we’d have been 3-0 up at half time then probably hung on for 3 points with the defensive 2nd half.

So hopefully if we play even 1 game like that we will have enough to stay up.

  • 24 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:14 AM

    Jail

Benitez and a few signings like PEA and other mentioned would show real ambition.

I’m unsure on the owner, really 50/50 for me, can’t decide if he wants great things or just happy to plod along for minimal cost…i will know a lot more by the end of the summer window.

  • 25 jimmysmith // May 1, 2013 at 8:14 AM

Actually, if Rafa has been lined up then surely we are fated to go down, such is the very ironic, life imitating art, nature of all things Newcastle United.

    So let’s f@cken hope not.

  • 26 corkypants85 // May 1, 2013 at 8:15 AM

if it is true just hope it gets sorted quickly after the arsenal game to let him sort out this mess that alan no clue has left!

  • 27 Lilongwe Geordie // May 1, 2013 at 8:18 AM

    Sage,
I still think we will stay up, QPR are gutless and awful. We can beat West Ham if the players perform, but the performance against Liverpool was as poor as I’ve seen in my 30 odd years of following the club.

Then, from there who knows! Onwards and upwards! Hopefully….

  • 28 Novocastrian66 // May 1, 2013 at 8:23 AM

I hope we stay up. I don’t do optimism. Probably something to do with supporting Newcastle United all my life.

  • 31 Jail for Ashley // May 1, 2013 at 8:27 AM

    TS ,
Good for you that you are 50/50 on the regime,it probably stops you from getting as wound up as me :0,it’s just that for all this talk of being on a sound financial footing and so on we have seen the worst football at SJP since the eighties and a possible two relegations every record a club doesn’t want to break has been smashed (in the PL ) since Ashley got here how on earth is that being well run.

  • 32 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:27 AM

    lilongwe

I am fully confident too…no way can we be as bad as we were against liverpool.

West ham are decent and in form but no reason we can’t have a go at them and get something from the game. At with QPR, they don’t care, none of them want to play. The only danger is harry plays his championship team and drops the idiots like bosingwa who just dont want to be there.

  • 33 Rotonda heights // May 1, 2013 at 8:28 AM

If we could get Benitez players may stay.

If Pardew is still here there will be a amass exodus of our qality players and w can look forward to Reo- Coker and Carlton Cole type signings and of course the hoof ball king Andy Carrol.

  • 35 terencelim // May 1, 2013 at 8:30 AM

Ashley would still keep the club revenue into his own pocket and Rafa won’t have much net spending for transfer window even if we get him.

I made a post last night, sure you might have said something similar.

whats my fun to look at

    1. great football, challenging for the league, cups and being in champs league

    or

    2. getting to read some accounts every year where we make a small profit.

I know what I would prefer.

It’s like some fans think success on the pitch means we have to risk the future of the club. We don’t, we just have to spend a bit more (not hugely, just a few more players, even if cheap).

Then people claim we would have gone bust if Ashley hadn’t taken over…nonsense…only person who has said that is Ashley/llambias which is the perfect excuse to cut back and not spend, paint themselves as saviors of our club.

  • 38 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:35 AM

    rotonda

I know you don’t like hoofball, and fair enough really, think most prefer quick passing and good all round play with more of it on the floor.

But I have to admit, seeing carroll rise above everyone and power a header home was awesome stuff. did you enjoy them goals too (well obviously as we scored, but i mean did you like seeing them anywhere near as much as a little cut back and tap in)

  • 39 martoon // May 1, 2013 at 8:39 AM

I’m not sure about Benitez but he does have a terrific record in cup competitions. I’m starting to give up hope of ever seeing the Toon win anything in my lifetime but maybe with Benitez…………………..

  • 40 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 8:43 AM

he won the league with valencia so he can do it too…not that he would with us, we can’t compete with man utd over a season but he might get us top 6/4 over a couple years.

But you’re right, he is very good for cups.

You may have something there. My glass is usually half empty. Maybe I can put being a miserable, pessemistic old git exclusively down to supporting NUFC. Maybe it really is that simple.

I could get counselling and get regresssed back 40 years to when my black depressive outlook on life all started!!! It may not be all coincidence after all.

What if Pardew was the manager of Barca

Busquets on the right, Maschcerano in No 10 role, Iniesta left back, Xavi Rightback, Messi in goal (IF, IF he starts under pardew)

P.S. Messi in goal because he won’t have far to track back!

    Let the hoof fest begin!

On the Benny thread….Granted we’re all more worried than normal, given the current circumstances, however these rumours have circulated prior to every window…let’s not just jump to conclusions that all of a sudden they’re true.

  • 49 Rotonda heights // May 1, 2013 at 8:55 AM

But statiscally it’s playing the percentages and basically hit and hope ”planet football” with very little method.

The irony is Carrol can play a bit on the ground but players are lazy when they see a giant beacon and start lumping it from anywhere.

Plus Carrol doesn’t have the mindset to run in behind and move on to clever through balls as he stands mainly with his hand in the air waiting for the big hoof.

If he had an all-round game like a Drogba / Ibrahimovic then great, but he has a very poor injury record and is hardly prolific.

If I were Pardew and I got wind that I was to be relieved of my management responsibilities, I’d be a bit pi$$ed off and lose interest

Now, if were Ashley, I’d have anticipated that and placed someone else in charge of coaching, tactics and selection for the last three games and bladder Pardew at the end of the season

Wouldn’t you? Maybe that’s happened already?

  • 52 corkypants85 // May 1, 2013 at 8:57 AM

  • 53 Indian Magpie (HD_07 on Twitter) // May 1, 2013 at 8:57 AM

    2 assumption must be made

    1) Pardew knows something other than hoof
    2) Pardew had any interest for him to lose it

  • 54 Ibizatoon - Back By Popular Demand // May 1, 2013 at 8:59 AM

Lesh…It doesn’t really add up tbh. If there was that much of a problem with confidence and unsettled players and if they were lining up a new manager (which subsequently had been leaked) then surely something would be done now?

  • 55 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // May 1, 2013 at 9:03 AM

If we had a new manager linedup Pardew wouldn’t be in change by now seeing we are fighting relegation!

…that would be plain stupid of Ashley!

  • 56 Williamsonsuks // May 1, 2013 at 9:05 AM

IMO if we survive this season and pardew is still at the helm next season, then say good buy to all our international players. All we want, we being players and fans is attractive football. Pards isn’t capable of running a bath never mind an attacking minded team. Come on Pards do the reasonable thing and leave1 Carver and Beardsley would do a better job from an attacking point of view, if Beardsley had some speech therapy :)

  • 57 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 9:06 AM

I get why you don wan’t him, I feel the same…you can now get big target men who can also play football so why go for carroll when there are players like benteke, ibrahimovich, drogba etc around the world.

I just meant purely from a enjoyment of that moment…you prefer a cut back and tap in or a beast heading it like a bullet?

  • 62 lesh // May 1, 2013 at 9:11 AM

Ibiza, maybe it has happened – Ashley doesn’t do embarrassment does he sacking Pardew now would lose him (MA) a lot of face?

  • 63 catchy in norway // May 1, 2013 at 9:12 AM

    lesh

i honestly think pardew believes the words that comes out of his mouth,
i really do think he believes he is a top class manager and that the 5th place and manager of the year cemented this into his head

when you look at fergy, the guy has evolved with football over the years, HE is the main man at man u, he will drop anyone, or rest them when needed,

pardew , for me, his biggest problem for me, is fear of losing, he hangs onto a point than go for 3,
then next is his fear of upsetting players, he would rather play a team full of friends out of position,

we would be better off with the team training themselfs

whilst i feel its wrong for the players to be doing what they seem to be doing, i really can fully understand there plight,,

  • 64 Transfer Sage // May 1, 2013 at 9:12 AM

    jesper

No new manager would take over with 3 games left with relegation a possibility, not a good one anyway as he would want to be guaranteed a top flight team.

I think it’s just been agreed pardew will be replaced, he hasn’t been told. neither have players, but talks have gone on behind closed doors to bring in benitez next year.

Lesh…And he wont lose face if we’re relegated?

I wouldn’t put it past them to have something lined up already, my point is, if it has been leaked and if the players have given up, then persevering with Pardew for the next 3 games would be suicide.

The more I think about it, the less face I think Ashley would lose. If he is indeed getting a new manager he would gain so much respect saying

“We got it wrong with Alan, we have a plan in place for a new manager if we stay up, in the meantime we have tasked “X” with keeping us up”.

    Not buying none of it.

I don’t honestly think we are really in danger of going down.
Pardew doesn’t quite have enough time left to complete that.
Another few matches and we would have been nailed on.

Yes wouldn’t it be ironic if we had Benitez ready to come in and we go down!

If we stay up we have to move on getting a proper and consistently good manager as we have got a good group of players who just need playing in their right positions, in the right formation.

  • 78 lesh // May 1, 2013 at 9:26 AM

TS…if that door was closed I find it hard to believe the media would know about don’t you?

…and if it is true what the media is reporting then surely you cannot have Pardew incharge for the last three games?

Well at least that is my sense of it all; whether or not we will get a new manager in the summer I hardly think it will be Benitez :-)

Jesper…How’s things? I’m with you, I know Ashley has been known to be involved in some blunders for sure, but if reports are to be believed, then surely they would just fire him now.

If he knows his job is over, surely he would just be destructive?

That is unless he’s getting promoted within the set up.

Blaydon…His CV is decent, can’t get away from that, but I don’t find him a very inspiring choice. I imagine if people had been asked about Benitez a year ago fans would be less enthused about him.

Another embarrassment and humiliation delivered to Toon fans by mike ashley. He has his cheap advertisement plastered all over our ground, degrades us by calling our home sports direct, now he will have us walking around with wonga written on our chests. This stinks the man is a lowlife scumbag, taking advantage of us all, but we let him coz we know nothing better.
