I would not be so confident about Wenger giving us a reprieve !

He would love to get some of our players on cheap transfers if he put us down !

Arfa, Cabaye, Sissoko and Mbiwa are all players that he has said he admires would turn any of them into top class performers in the Arsenal team as well

QPR is our cup final win or bust

Just got to hope Remy plays as shite as Carroll and Nolan tried their best not to score today Carroll must really want to come back home in the summer

  • 4 Tsunki // May 4, 2013 at 7:17 PM

Repost for the sake of pathos -

Few things are less pleasing than seeing our manager beaming with satisfaction at scraping out a dull draw against a team replete with our cast-offs. My assertions that those around us were worse have once again been engineered to turn against us and relegation continues to toy with us like a cat with an injured bird. I am beginning to think there is no impossible mathematical permutation that can’t be explored to push us down. Real Wigan , Barcevilla and Borussia bleedin’ mackemgladbach are somehow able to wake up and we are chugging out single points at the waystations of the league. Brilliant.

  • 5 dembademba // May 4, 2013 at 7:17 PM

Gut says we’re down. Head says we’l probably scrape it. It feels like last time.

Where the f#*k did mcmananom come from. Cheeky bastard he is

  • 8 BandB // May 4, 2013 at 7:20 PM

    Manxpie,

We finished fifth last season. Which was good. Pardew took the credit for that.
So why shouldn’t he take the stick for what’s happening now.
I’ve always been judged on what I did in the last month at work. The rest was history.
Please, don’t tell us what you are against. State the actual case you believe in.

  • 9 daztoon-anti christ is that the time // May 4, 2013 at 7:20 PM

    @manxpie
The lad is a midfielder a pass and move technical player one who can work box to box not and never will be massively defensive player

  • 10 Tsunki // May 4, 2013 at 7:21 PM

Did anyone else not feel like we played little better than against the scum and scousers? And what is it with Cabs and those spring-assisted punting boots?

  • 11 northernirishtoon // May 4, 2013 at 7:23 PM

    Kevy

If Sunderland don’t at least get a draw on Monday night against stoke then they are in serious trouble. I am confident Southampton and spurs will beat them

  • 12 AndyNUFC // May 4, 2013 at 7:23 PM

Gutted we didn’t match Wigan for 3 points today but I think our fate lies in the hands of Stoke and Swansea… Who will be thinking of their hols and not be up for a midweek game. Great.

If however we manage to suppress an ambitious Arsenal side for a point, we’ll be set up nicely to target a win at QPR and keep us up.

Still can’t get my head around the season being firstly about European glory to then relegation survival, only ‘kin Newcastle does this…

  • 13 kevymartins // May 4, 2013 at 7:24 PM

@TSUNKI Off course we did tiote was a beast today..But after half time and the subs they just stopped trying..Only one person to blame

  • 14 SupaToonKid // May 4, 2013 at 7:26 PM

Yeah so a point would’ve been good but now Wigan have won it looks not so good anymore. QPR is a must win and an emphatic one at that as goal difference is horrific. I think we’ll need to draw/win vs Arsenal now too.

  • 15 Beattie25 // May 4, 2013 at 7:29 PM

If Wigan win this week and Sunderland draw or win we’re in the bottom 3.

Nice to see Pardew is happy with a point against what was a poor West Ham team.

We’re going one way and have to hope Norwich have worse results.

It is between us and Norwich and there is 1 goal between us.

I’d back Norwich if I was a neutral.

  • 16 AndyNUFC // May 4, 2013 at 7:29 PM

Sorry just realised its QPR then Arsenal, Christ I hope we get a win next then…

  • 17 davis_toons // May 4, 2013 at 7:29 PM

Carroll tried his best but just couldnt score tbh. He even launch in on ChiekT

  • 18 southerngeordie // May 4, 2013 at 7:30 PM

As expected folks but the sour taste is obviously the Villa and Wigan results. We are at a point now when unfortunately, destiny is no longer in our hands. Wigan will more than likely drag themselves out of this mess, and so our most likely looking rivals are going to be Norwich.

QPR is going to be our D-day. Clichéd as it sounds anything less than a win and we are down.
As for Mr. Pardew – we’ll the more he opens his mouth the further and further i want him from this club. I swear the moron still thinks we’re somewhere around midtable! When i saw the line up i was rather optimistic, but then we kicked off and predictably, we had all the urgency of a pensioner shuffling for the number 365 bus. It was a typical response to an absolute mauling – same as when we went to Norwich following the Brighton loss.
Anyhow, dejected after the final whistle i spotted this little gem from him and it really got my goat up..
“Whether we are good enough to stay up, we have to show that now in terms of our quality but lack of spirit, lack of fight, that was there in leaps and bounds today and we will take that to QPR.”
Spirt & fight?!?!? What game was he watching? If by spirit and fight he means keeping the score-line to under five then mission accomplished but to go to an average, newly promoted team and play for a draw, when anything less than three points is needed is soul destroying. Seriously, it’s like watching a relative dying in front of you while the doctor tries fixing it with Calpol and water-proof plasters!!!
If Pardew wants real spirit and fight, tune into MOTD tonight. Wigan coming from 2-1 away to win. Villa battling a hard-fought victory away to its nearest relegation rivals – they are teams who want to play top flight football next season. They are teams willing to fight until the very end, and ultimately they will be the ones who stay up.
Having Pardew in the dugout is about as reassuring as boarding a cruise liner to be greeted by Francesco Schettino. The only tiny silver lining i can hope for is come 20th May, Pardew will no longer be at this club, relegation or not.
Before the pro-stability lot jump on board, i appreciate we needed to build after Liverpool but the situation is becoming very very grave. The predictable 65th Shola sub again is about as effective as a chocolate teapot and why Pardew feels the urge to play Gosling our Anita is beyond sanity.

Apologies for sounding so downbeat, but when you see the others around your fighting their corner and we seem content to settle it makes you wonder what you’ve done to deserve the absolute horse sh**e we’ve been served up all season long.

Anyway onto QPR – in all honesty, with nothing to play for i can see them inflicting some damage, as Reading did to Fulham today. Imagine pretty much a mirror performance to today – we have to pray that WBA do us a favour against Norwich, however, after today’s results i wouldn’t hold my breath.

  • 19 davis_toons // May 4, 2013 at 7:31 PM

The Thug that should have been BAN score for Wigan.

Think (hope) stoke will get a result, even a win against the scum on Monday

Then they will be favourites for the drop

  • 21 89Norcal // May 4, 2013 at 7:32 PM

I nearly lost it when I saw Pardew laughing on the touchline.

The man must be the most bipolar manager in the world.

  • 22 BandB // May 4, 2013 at 7:34 PM

What we massively lack is midfielder with the inclination to get himself into the box and stop us being so uselessly out-numbered. Even if we had a system that supported the break, which we don’t, who would have the legs, the presence, the nous and the composure?
That player should be Sissoko. But instead it is Jonas.

  • 23 toon252 // May 4, 2013 at 7:35 PM

    NEWSFLASH:

Mathematically we could win both games and still be relegated due to worst goal difference..

    It’s not looking good!

  • 24 Transfer Sage // May 4, 2013 at 7:37 PM

Id like to see Anita, sissoko and cabaye next week in the middle. All three can attack, defend and pass. They can all get forward at the right time and contribute and they can all tackle too. Would be a good combination ad all three are proficient in all aspect of midfield.

I’d like to see hba, cisse and Gouff as a three too again. Same back 4 with debuchy in for simmo as the only change.

  • 25 Beattie25 // May 4, 2013 at 7:37 PM

What has it come to when we hope Stoke beat Sunderland, Wigan get no more points and that Norwich concede more than us?!

It will be damage limitation now.

I really think we will lose the next 2 as will Norwich and it comes down to who concedes more.

The last 2 games I guarantee will be defensive as to not be beaten by more than 1 goal.

  • 26 davis_toons // May 4, 2013 at 7:38 PM

When i saw Pardew laughing away..i just couldn’t understand why a draw can be so much of a better result than a win.

  • 27 Transfer Sage // May 4, 2013 at 7:39 PM

I would think another win will see us safe, maybe a draw as Norwich will really struggle at west brom and man city as they don’t score much either.

If we beat qpr I think it will be enough. We are easy good enough and hopefully today stopped the free fall and have us a platform for that match.

Qpr blow more hot and cold than us. Entirely on with Newcastle as qpr turn up on the day, impossible to predict.

  • 28 BandB // May 4, 2013 at 7:40 PM

    That’s the team TS.

Have we ever seen it? Anita Harris has got an engine as well as a brain.

Do you remember the Anita Harris, Ben Arfa, Gosling skit last week?

    It actually happened!

  • 29 Transfer Sage // May 4, 2013 at 7:41 PM

    Beattie

I don’t like pardew and his style at all but I do have more optimism than you.

Not saying I’m right and you’re wrong but I think we could win even if it takes a scrappy defensive match and a wonder goal. Try not to give up hope buddy.

  • 30 daztoon-anti christ is that the time // May 4, 2013 at 7:42 PM

Draws are not good enough we need win games but we have a manager who doesn`t know how too.Again Cisse one shot on goal no service the lad is a match winner and he gets no service.I thought it couldn`t get worse but 1 goal in 4 games and 10 conceded it actually has

People keep saying aww we beat qpr and thats enough …Seriozly OPEN your eyes …Did you just watch them vs arsenal?

So` it’s almost certain that were gona beat qpr while were playing for a point vs west ham?

Loic remy will score against us and they will beat us ….ITS ALL BECAUSE OF THAT FCUKING W***ER PARDREW THE ASS***E …:D

  • 34 Sawbuck // May 4, 2013 at 7:45 PM

Why did Goofy go off? He was prpbably our best schance to score other than the linesmans tripping over his owb boots.

  • 35 Beattie25 // May 4, 2013 at 7:46 PM

    Sage

Not giving up hope just being realistic.

We have Pardew in charge and have 2 games to go and are mathematically very likely to go down.

I don’t think Pardew is good enough to keep us up and the players think they’re too good to be in this position.

We will struggle to beat QPR and against Arsenal at home we will get rogered.

If we go down I’m done.

  • 36 Transfer Sage // May 4, 2013 at 7:47 PM

    Rotonda

We all know the manger is failing the team (not 100% his fault we aren’t top 6/7, but 100% his fault we are fighting relegation).

All we can do is hope we survive, I think we will, then replace him and kick on next year. A good manager and 2-4 signings could see us challenge for the top 6 maybe even 4.

  • 37 Rotonda heights // May 4, 2013 at 7:48 PM

    fantastic post

  • 38 Transfer Sage // May 4, 2013 at 7:49 PM

I think colo was a big influence today on the side.

Also think we were unlucky with cisse’s goal but it was hard for the linesman, very close.

I do think that we showed a lot more fight which was good and hopefully we win at qpr, they are so hit and miss so hard to say.

  • 39 daztoon-anti christ is that the time // May 4, 2013 at 7:49 PM

Its a bitch much mate hoping to survive when teams around us are playing for wins and getting them, while we sit back and hope for a wonder goal to defend for 45 mins +

    Cramp somebody just said.

  • 41 Laurent Robert 32 // May 4, 2013 at 7:50 PM

IF we survive relegation, it wouldn’t surprise me if Pardew’s comments are that of pride, that he has saved the club from going down. Like he has been a success and is a saviour to the club, a hero for guiding through team through this bad time “digging in”.

He’s a first class prat and possibly more deluded than ol’ Audley Harrison. He is the reason we are down there in the first place.

It’s such a sad and hopeless feeling isn’t…

  • 42 Transfer Sage // May 4, 2013 at 7:51 PM

It’s not ideal, but I think we have a chance with the quality over some individual goals we get.

Rather we attacked and went for it but we know how we are goin to play so just fingers crossed

  • 43 davis_toons // May 4, 2013 at 7:52 PM

    You score 2 , we score 3.

What most irritating abt Alan Pardew.

Pardew problem was his Sub and his love for English Players.

Thats is his strength and weakness, at the wrong club at the wrong time.

    Gosling over Anita.
    1. Gosling was thinking of a way out of this door (on loan) how on earth can he be coming on? What can gosling contribute or provide? None-so far comparing to Anita

    2. MA don’t buy expensive talented English player and he loves to Sell them. Milner was a very good example.

    - So there is no chance of Pardew using a talented English player in our club. Unless you are talk abt Arsenal. (Same Operating Model but different Operating Cost)

Pardew got to be realistic and start playing players that deserve to start. Be it their nationality. If not, i would want him out asap.

As i said before, if there are talented youth players we got to try our best ways and means to compete and get them, by hook or by crook or we can never ever succeed in this model.

Because talent youth are always taken away. Left with 2nd class. Just trying tbh here.

We couldn’t afford 15-20 milion. But we can provided good wages for youth, good training ground, good supporters and etc for youth to develop and play football without stress.

I hope MA can be more competitive in the Youth development and in terms of getting them to Newcastle.

  • 47 davis_toons // May 4, 2013 at 8:35 PM

There nothing wrong with “Newcastle’s French revolution”
IF we can succeed. Just like Arsenal and move on from there.

Its a stepping stone, guys. Did MA says that we only buy french??? NO. Its a start. Many think is a good start.

These french will get old and younger players will emerge and we will move-on from there.

Hopefully not in the Championship but Top 5 or 10. We got to built on. Be it French or Not.

As long as they are good players within our budget.
NO matter what we should try our very best to get/ snatch good youth players from other establish club.

    Starting from Arsenal.

    catchy the treacherous prick ,
no matter when in my outspoken criticism of Mike Ashley (or Pardew ) did I ever say I would like to see us relegated, where as you have openly appeared on this site want v us to go down gloating when you are seemingly in the right, prove me wrongly horrible cnut you posted three times after that run we went on toward the end of last season except to show your horrible face after the Wigan defeat.
