Newcastle Squad Boosted by Return Of Two Top Youngsters

Some good news today that two of our very best youngsters – Shane Ferguson and Sammy Ameobi – have returned to Newcastle after their loan spells at Birmingham and Middlesbrough respectively.

shane ferguson birmingham

Shane Ferguson – playing for Birmingham

Both lads will have picked up some vital first team experience in their time out on loan since January.

And in particular Shane Ferguson seems to have been very impressive at Birmingham, so perhaps we can see the lad on the left-wing put one of those pin-point crosses over for Papiss Cisse to put home.

And Sammy Ameobi was even in the party that traveled to West Ham for Saturday’s game, although did not make the bench.

ameobi middlesbrough

Sammy Ameobi – at Middlesbrough

Sammy played nine times for Middlesbrough with one goal and Shane made 11 appearances at Lee Clark’s Birmingham with one goal.

Shane Ferguson will return this week after ending his loan spell at Birmingham in the last game of the Championship season, when Birmingham drew 1-1 at home to Blackburn, and Shane played the whole game at left-back.

Birmingham finished in 12th place and Middlesbrough slipped to 16th position, and Wolves finished second bottom and were relegated for a second successive season.

We feel for their fans. 🙁

It’s good to have the two youngsters back in the squad.

Sammy and Fergie going to save us?

Let’s hope they do better in the championship next season then they did this.

Sammy looked out of his depth at that level never mind PL. Fergie was decent but hardly made waves.

its time to drop jonas hes not going to win us any games but if you put him on with 20 mins to go to secure a win that would be the best for the team

    Beattie, Repost

Where did I say that?? I said it has had more of an effect then we might have thought. At no point did I put the bad season down to him. I think you need to stop taking the hallucenogenics. If that is what you saw in my post.

I also never said the long ball system would work, I think if you re read it that I said that he would use Vukic in that system instead of Shola.

Actually read the post rather then just reading what you then want to see.

Can you say that Vukic wouldn’t have been used as a second striker? That is the role he played prior to injury.

My Boro mate, and most of his fellow boro fans don’t think much of Sammi. He didn’t exactly sparkle for them, so not sure how he will help us?

for me,, a lot of you have sat back and watched / let this happen thats a crime. ED you included

Catchy – what are you referring to here ?
Is it the lack of a club boycott while Pardew was manager or to do with Ashley’s ownership or what ?

I know you have blamed the fans as well as the club/manager/owner/MD/players for our prdicament before but I’m not sure who you hold responsible now or what anybody could have done, or what you personally would have wanted 52,000 fans to do collectively.

I really have heard it all now, catchy who has been blaming individual posters who don’t even live in the North East for our demise now claims that Mike Ashley deserves audits for getting us our name back.

Fergie will create more than Jonas, and will give a decent workrate. Wouldn’t be too displeased to see him in against QPR. Sammi isn’t good enough, if anything he has gone backwards in the last 2 years.

You said that Vuckic being injured may have had more of an effect than we know.

Let me tell you that Vuckic being injured had not had any effect on us being shit all season. I have high hopes for the lad but I know what effect it has had, it means that the game against Brighton was lost a little easier without Vuckic.

You then wittered on about something to do with Vuckic playing instead of Shola when we go long (can’t remember fully, I lost all interest in your post at that point).

Vuckic is 6’2″ or there about but is not good in the air. Big and strong perhaps but when was the last time you saw Sissoko win a header? Whilst we are talking about Sissoko I see a comparison being drawn between your insane quote and Pardews actual tactics.

Stick a big lad up top (you think Vuckic/he thinks Sissoko) and with their power they can win headers and link up with Cisse.

What a load of crap. Vuckic would be best played as a AM with balls being played into his feet, not as a battering ram.

Vuckic is going to be a top player but I’m glad you are not in line to take over from Pardew because you sound like you have less knowledge than even Alan does.

So in response to your quote, do I think we have missed Vuckic more than we realised? No. Should Vuckic play behind Cisse because he is big? No.

Now go back to your football for dummies, turn the book the right way round and get someone to read it to you before you go to sleep.

It’s funny because if you took JFA and Catchy and created a mutant form their DNA you would get me.

I hate Ashley and Pardew. In fact I hate everyone.

Enjoy your days unless you don’t like me then I hope yours is crap.

The fact you didn’t read the post fully points to how set on your own views without being able to see anything else.

Vukic would have been more involved this season then any other youngsters had he been fit. The fact he would have given another creative and goal scoring option in attack obviously would have made a difference to the side. The fact you think it wouldn’t is just a bit odd.

On the second point, I said that Pardew would have used him there as he is big and strong, the fact you likened him to Pardews tactics of using Sissoko there proves me right. At no point did I say that is how I would have played him being in charge, again trying to put words in my mouth.

I agree with all the points you make about how Vukic plays, but I was stating how Pardew would have used him had he been fit, but to say he wouldn’t have created chances and scored some goals is crazy.

Sammy n fergie return boosts the squad. Seriously. Who believes that. Another nonsense article to fill the blog. Those two should not get anywhere near the 16 for the last two games.

Ideal results this week will be for Stoke to beat Sunderland and Wigan lose to Swansea or at the very least only get 1 point. Then on Wednesday a draw between Spurs n Chelsea as that will mean the Gunners will know that nothing else but a win over Wigan next Tuesday will do for their chances of CL league footie.
If those results occur and whoever plays for us at QPR do the job and gets us the win then we would be 5 points ahead of Wigan and safe resulting in the last home game counting for nothing but pride.
The team for QPR needs pace in it hence, accounting for the injured, i would like to see the following 11.
Simpson (who we should keep IMO)
Colo (who we should keep IMO)
    Saylor (sold in summer)
    Mbwia (keep)
    Obertan (sold in summer)
    Tiote (?)
    Cabaye (keep)
    Gouffran (keep)
    HBA (keep)
    Cisse (sold to Dortmund)
That 11 has pace and creation to both defend and attack to secure 3 points and PL football next season.
Going forward, MA should sack Pardew as soon as the Arsenal game ends along with Carver and Stone.
As for future of current players not shown above IMO the futures should be
    Harper – retire
    Debuchy – keep
    Willo – sold
    Santon – keep
    Haidarra – keep
Raylor – paid off as he aint gona come back
    Jonas – sold
    Anita – keep
    Sissoko – keep
    Gosling – sold
    Marv – keep
    Shola – retired
    Perch – sold
    Krul – keep
    Elliott – keep
As for the Development squad then a few need to be cut loose and some given loans.
To some it may appear drastic but IMO necessary.
In the summer we will need to buy a minimum of 3 defenders (2 CB’s and a LB). 4 new midfield players and a minimum of 2 forwards.
Some will say impossible but thats 9 new faces at least and we got 5 in January for an approximate NET spend of ÂŁ12 million offsetting Ba’s sale.

just been reading that article where pardew says , how the cisse disallowed goal on saturday “is a mental blow, he is still smarting from the dissalowed goal against sunderland ”
Those 2 incidents should be forgotten about now.
The players should be made to forget them .
What pardew is doing is dwelling on the past – wrong – he should be concentrating on 2 games left not thinking about how hard done to “HE’ is, the selfish ba…d.
With 3 games left , i said we needed to sack pardew to have any chance of staying up, not only because of a change of tactics , but to put a positive mindset into the players heads to get us over the line, because THAT is where we are going to fail, not on the pitch.

i think this whole senario we are in right now is down to many things,

mike has had his part to play in this too, he has a great business idea , but he has the wrong ppl implementing it, he wants the Arsenal model, where venger is making the club millions, and again , i have no real problem with that
instead ov wenger, we have clueless pardew and this is why it has all fell apart

the writing was on the wall when he let carrol go for a great fee, he didnt put a fight to keep him, in fact that was the last time i really seen the fans do anything

that summer came, barton and nolan where next out the door, but for me where replaced by quality players,

this is where i started to be impressed with what ashley was doing with the club, we bought one dud player, for the life of me , i still can not see why we bought obertan

obertan is where i started to question pardew, week after week, we played with inafective wingers, i could not see why obertan was included in the match day team, jonas helped talyor out but obertan didnt do his job at all, and i got pelters for saying so,
you could see obertan getting worse week after week, but pardew sent him out week after week, you had HBA coming out in the press saying he was ready, for pardew only to say he wasnt, there was no control

yet week after week we GROUND OUT results, the football was crap, and that is being poilte,

i watched cabaye and thought wow what a player, only to watch him start playing further back until he was siting right beside tiote

the whole of last season, i sat watching matches and thinking how did we win that, in lots of matches,

cisse came in, ba got shifted to the left, and we carried him for the rest of the season, it was all about cabaye who had been moved further up again, cisse who cloud close his eyes and shoot and score from anywhere and beny, game we won were down to bits of magic from one of these, not team performances

a few of us said as much only to be mocked, look at the table, your mad, you dont know football, your a sunderland fan

then this season kicked off, we hadnt lost anyone, which was good added anita, who while i think is a goo player, i would have prefered a CB, but overall i have to say i wasnt upset to much

then we started to play, omg, we were even worse than before,,
yet fans by the hundreds come on her to protect pardew, its not his fault,
    its DL
    its MA
    its europe
    its Injuries
honestly , fans were using any excuse they could to try and protect pardew
facts were coming out that we played more long balls than any other team, but pardew was saying we never got our passing game going today,
pardew took us on 23 MATCH run without winning a game,
fans would say its ok,, give him until the end of the season,
    he needs more players,
a few of us just got pelters for saying its nothing to do with who he hasnt got,
its more to do with what he isnt doing with who he has got,
our players can not pass to each other,
our players dont create chances yet its cisses fault

fans only sat up and took notice when sunderland beat us, then we got hammerd by liverpool

    lee ryder
printing stuff as if all is ok,,

we should have been getting together to get pardew out,
    then DL
im sure if my life was a missery going into work everyday, im sure i would quit

i realy think a lot of fans should take a hard look in the mirror, and accept there part in us going into the championship,
its sad to think they went to the match and shouted his name like he is some kind of hero,, when did he get this status?

    i support the club
    i like the players
    the manager comes third,
he is always the one that carries the can,

yet fans have let him turn the situation around, he is god
