Harry Redknapp’s Verdict On Newcastle Relegation Struggle

Newcastle United will play QPR on Sunday, and it seems like a win will give us safety in the Premier League this season.

Harry Redknapp – Newcastle swill be safe

It’s also a chance for Newcastle to get the double over QPR, after we beat them 1-0 at St. James’ Park earlier in the season.

This is what the former Tottenham and Portsmouth manager said about the game on Sunday:

“We don’t want to be rolling over for anybody, even though we’ve done that a few times recently.” “But I think Newcastle will be safe, even though they’ve been sucked into it.”

“They over achieved last year, and under achieved this year, and clearly injuries have affected them.” “I saw Wigan getting out of it until the other night. Now, it’s going to be tough for them.”

And news today that center-back Christopher Samba, who joined QPR from our Europa League opponents Anzhi in January,    will miss the game with a knee injury.

Shaun Wright-Phillips with an ankle injury and Andrew Johnson with a knee injury will also miss the game.

We need a win to be safe – we hope we can get it.

Manu will be stronger next year with that player he will certainly sign. He’ll look just as funny in red, but, what a player!

On Harry, well I fear we’ll get no points, tbh

I see what Redknobb is doing.

He’s trying to lure Pardew into relaxing about relegation and then stuffing NUFC.

Don’t worry Harry, you don’t have to try, you just have to turn up and Pards will do the rest.

marv is our best player by far (yes better than cabs or benny) i think we should sell benny get something now while we still can we really should be scouting german football before the big teams get all the gems imo i actually like cisse he shows fight and heart but think we should be using him as a ruud,or owen type poacher and by someone who can hold the ball up abit or run in behind

He doesn’t need to lure Pardew into relaxing as he’s practically catatonic as it is

Marv has vision and a good touch. He needs a run, don’t know about his injuries, same with HBA

What odds are Pardew for the Everton job?

If he gets sacked I wouldn’t be suprised.

I’d like to see us play 4411. Ben Arfa Sissoko Cabaye Marveaux/Gouffran.
With an attacking midfielder with pace in behind Cisse.

We need a creative CF with pace and technique.

Someone who likes to link up with the midfield and creates goals for Cisse.

Mathias Suarez of Anderlecht would do for me.

    Re post…

Most managers would be rubbing their hands in glee given the quality of players at this club. A squad chock full of internationals and a winning mindset.

However Pardew has his stars playing in positions that are alien to them. They are also drilled with doing defensive duties that takes away the players natural free flowing skill set.

In boxing terms, it’s akin to a bruising, rough and rugged brawler like Ricky Hatton and teaming him up with a trainer… Oh lets say Mayweather Snr and trying to turn him into a elegant, dancing, stick and move artist fighting behind a silky jab.

The result is, you’re left with a fighter laying on the canvas, twitching like he’s having a seizure, looking like he’s about to die in the ring. As was the case when Hatton faced Manny Pacquiao.

Much like our own mighty Newcastle United as I see it today. A drooling, twitching mess at the wrong end of the league table

Such a shame really when it could all be so different.

Matias Suarez is like his name sake Luis and averages about 15 goals a season and as many assists.

Those types of player are few and far between. Would be a real deal.

Impressive Beattie but that is the Belgian league. However, players like Kompany, Fellaini and Lukaku came from there and are stars here. Would be a good move I suppose. He’s young too.

Yeah Valbuena would be immense but I think he said he wouldn’t come here.

If we had a striker creating chances we’d turn Cisse back in top a 30 goal striker.

Say what you want about Cisse but boy can that lad find space to make a chance.

If we had more creativity and attacking intent he’d be smashing them in for fun.

Yeah the league he plays in isn’t a top one but he is one of the few I have no doubt could crack it in a tougher league.

He has so much ability and a better league would be his making.

Look at Luis Suarez now. Was immense before Liverpool but is now looking like one of the footballers in the world.

You have to feel for Cisse, all alone surrounded by three defenders. And when he presses defenses into mistakes, no one else does it! They sit back and watch him run from defender to defender…. Watch his frustration at that, oftentimes.

a lot of cisse’s goals before us were in the box, tap ins so to speak

i posted a link a few days ago (saved at home so can post later if you want to see) which shows out of all teams in the prem league we have had the lowest % of shots inside the 6 yard box. This does not suit cisse as a poacher.
