Villa Lose – So Win Tomorrow And Newcastle Safe – Official

After what was a dramatic game at Villa Park this afternoon, Chelsea came back from one goal down and 10 men, after Ramires was sent off in the first half, to win the game 2-1 in dramatic style.

bentake scores chelsea

Bentake scores after just 14 minutes to put Villa 1-0 up

And is was that guy who is supposed to be passed it – Frank Lampard (yeah right) – who scored both Chelsea’s second half goals, and the winner came with just two minutes to go after Bentake had been sent off after 57 minutes for a second yellow card for a high tackle on Terry.

Frank Lampard now has scored 203 goals for Chelsea – a club record.

And Aston Villa’s top goalscorer Bentake will now miss Villa’s last game at home to Wigan a week tomorrow – good news for Wigan.

Ramirez was sent off just before half time for picking up his second yellow card for a foul on Agbonlahor, and it’s really hard to make this stuff up, after Villa looked in a great position to secure their season leading 1-0 up at the half, and against 10 men.

The defeat means Aston Villa are still two points ahead of Newcastle and a win tomorrow at QPR will take us above the Villains – and the win for Chelsea has secured their Champions League qualification for next season.

The results are going Newcastle’s way and as we reported on Thursday there are two steps to heaven (aka The Premier League) for Newcastle – now there’s only one step.

A win at QPR tomorrow and we are safe.

Ronaldo under Pardew will become Mr Nobody.

He hate cocky players, players with flair to display,

Pardew: “Hey Cristiano, can’t you just get back there and defence for the good of the team?”

    CR7: …but I’m born to attack…i defence like a clown.

Pardew: Stop all you nonsense excuse, now get back there and polish up your defensive skill. Before i drop you from playing and …(show off your skill)

Entertaining football is getting the ball down on the deck, passing it around, pressing hard for the ball and ultimately scoring goals. Just so you know, we scored the least amount of goals out of the top 6 with 56 last season, and conceded more goals than any other side in the top 10 other than Fulham with 51, where they also conceded 51.

Our style of play was not fluid, it not based on scoring goals, it was not even based on solid defending. It was the same style that we have seen this year, sit back, try and nick a goal and hope the other team doesn’t score.

Last season it worked, this season it most certainly hasn’t.

Did I enjoy seeing the club I love finish 5th? Of course I did, did I even purport to being “entertained”? I found winning to be very entertaining.

But your statement that we were the “Entertainers” of last season is preposterous, even Wigan played more entertaining football than we did, and they showed that when they drubbed us 4-0 at their gaff.

Just so you know, the true “Entertainers” scored 73 goals in the 1996/97 season, and conceded 40, they dominated teams with pass and move football, and contrary to popular belief, they could defend well too.

Pardew never has, and never will get us playing “entertaining” football.

“If Gouffran is a no.10. then WHO is Zidane?”

You’re aware that players play different styles though… Just because someone doesn’t play like Zidane doesn’t mean that they can’t be a number ten.

Traditionally #9’s are great big lumps who stand up front and muscle their way about, winning headers and holding the ball up. Does that mean Torres isn’t a number 9? Or Cisse?

Like I said before – there’s plenty of reasons to complain, but it’s sad that people are inventing new ones which don’t even make any sense.

Can you not see how much nonsense that is?,if you have your creative players missing, your team is not going to create much chances, and if you don’t score the few chances you create your alway’s going to be defending, take the West Brom game,if we had taken our chances we could have been 2 or 3 nil up at half time, then when they came out a more motivated team in the second half we could have just tried to catch them on the break and played a bit more confident football,we didn’t take our chances and were left to defend a 1 goal lead.
    Last one
“But your statement that we were the “Entertainers” of last season is preposterous, even Wigan played more entertaining football than we did, and they showed that when they drubbed us 4-0 at their gaff.
This is not my statement,i thought they played good football last season,it was the pundits and journo’s who called us that. But hey,What do ex-international footballers know about good football?

Right thought about this for a second so assuming Gouffran is a no 10 why do we not play this 2moro :
    4411

    Elliot
    Simmo
    Colo
    Taylor
    Mbiwa
    Jonas DM
    Cabaye CM
    Gouffran No 10
    Debuchy RWF
    Cisse
    Arfa LWF

That way we have a solid back 5 and the other boys can do the damage i am tired of watching this cutting inside pish Arfa has set up the majority of his goals for us on the left hand side he just does more damage cause he can just beat a man

Debuchy is much better at attacking and with Simmo and Mbiwa at full back there is plenty of protection

Its obvious Pardew does not like Anita so I would rather Jonas play than Tiote as he offers defensive cover as Tiote just goes AWOL from defense these days

You’ve failed to comprehend that my entire post was in reference to last season. Your reference to the West Brom game this season is irrelevant.

How do you explain our inability to score more goals last season despite having our creative players available and a red hot striker for each half of the season?

How do you explain the fact that we conceded more goals than 8 other sides in the top ten despite having a settled back 5 for practically the entire season?

And finally, you’re hiding behind the journos and press so you don’t have to feel the flack of agreeing that we were the “Entertainers” of last season. Also I would think that listening to Alan Shearer on MOTD on a Saturday night shows exactly what some ex-international footballers know about good football.

Please try to stick to the actual topic of conversation, if I reference last season, don’t use this season to counter it, I am aware of other factors being in play for our dismal season last season, I am pointing out that the systemic flaws that exist this season were actually still in play last season, despite finishing 5th.

You did claim that “you don’t finish 5th by playing negative defensive football”, and I think I more than succeeded in proving just that.

The latest ramblings of a deluded man

Alan Pardew says he doesn’t fear for his job at Newcastle United, and that he prides himself on tactical knowledge.
Alan Pardew: “I never fear for my job.
“But I don’t think my contract is cast-iron either.
“I’m not going to say ‘that doesn’t matter – I’ve got a long contract’.
“I’m hurting about performances, I’m hurting about the way we’ve played.
“I’m hurting about results – we should have had better results.
“Some of the performances have been good. But we haven’t got the points.
“For somebody who prides himself on tactical knowledge and the way I assemble teams, that’s been a major disappointment.
“In terms of my confidence, and worrying – no. The only worry I’ve got is getting this team safe this year. After the year we’ve had, I’ll treat that as a minor – a little – success.”

Now read that amazing statement again.

“For somebody who prides himself on tactical knowledge and the way I assemble teams, that’s been a major disappointment.

Sorry Alan, but it’s your tactical naivety and lack of knowledge of how to assemble a team that will see you sacked at NUFC.

I can see you’re struggling so let me make this clear.

Sitting back and trying to nick a goal is not good football. Sitting back and inviting opponents on to you is not good football. Letting mediocre teams have the ball and pass around us is not good football. Allowing your back 4 to retreat and play football inside your penalty box is not good football. Playing long balls is not good football.

All of which we have done this season, and last season.

Pressing the ball high, getting the ball down and passing it around, and showing attacking intent are all attributes of good football.

If you really think this is the sort of football we played last season or in any part of this season then I am afraid we have nothing more to discuss.

As for Big Al, great striker but his knowledge of football is terrible.

@daz – Thats why I like that quote by Einstein because it sum’s up Pardew’s approach to this season. He has tried and tried the same thing week after week when everyone else could see that it simply wasn’t working and yet he expected it to bring us results 😀

I’ve said before that it would be frightening what Kevin Keegan or Sir Bobby could do with this squad while it’s sickening that it’s being wasted on a chancer like Pardew
