How About These Four Players For Newcastle This Summer

Newcastle will need a couple of strikers in the summer – and a center-back and maybe a winger too.

Mamadou Sakho in French coloras

Mamadou Sakho – excellent defender at PSG

We expect Mike Williamson to leave the club to get more playing time elsewhere, and of course Fab Coloccini may also leave, although we hope he stays. Fab’s been fab in our last two games.

As far as the two strikers go we have a feeling that Newcastle will try that little bit harder to bring Andy Carroll back to the club – and one reason is he’s English and a local lad – and we need more home-grown players in the side, and we think Andy would be as good as ever if he returned home.

As for the other striker it could be that Loic Remy is off to Arsenal, which is being reported in the German press today, and he’s said he’s love to join the Gunners, and we’d be surprised if he wanted to come to Newcastle after what happened in January.

andy carroll - england

Andy Carroll – coming home?

So maybe we can still go after 23 year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubeyemang of St. Etienne, who was a Newcastle target in January, just like Remy was, but Newcastle will now face big competition for this very good striker.

But hey, if we can get Andy Carroll back and Pierre-Emerick Aubeyemang in – that would give us some striker options up front for next season – which we haven’t had this season.

As far as a center-back goes, my son Neil would like to see West Ham’s James Tomkins brought in – and he may be available and he’s English too, and maybe Newcastle this summer will try to bring in more home based players.

But another great option for center-back would be Mamadou Sakho, the PSG defender who can play at center-back or left back, and has already played 13 times for France, and could be keen to join up with Newcastle.

Mamadou cannot get his game at PSG and wants to move on to get more playing time – so he could well be a target.

We expect some wingers to leave Newcastle in the summer – Romain Amalfitano and Gabby Obertan are two of them – so maybe we can bring in the goalscoring winger Andreas Weimann, the 21 year-old Aston Villa forward.

And Dan Gosling will also probably be sold in the summer since he just hadn’t made it on Tyneside – and we should sell him before he becomes a free agent in a year’s time.

Andreas Wiemann has scored 12 goals in 37 appearances this season for Villa – and at 21 years old he looks a very good player already, having played 5 times for Austria.

So Mike Williamson out and Mamadou Sakho in and Romain Amalfitano, Dan Gosling and Gabby Obertan out and Andreas Wiemann in.

And finally Andy Carroll and Pierre-Emerick Aubeyemang in to give us more striker options up front.

Those would be four excellent players into the club this summer – if we can do it – and that may cost us around £30M – but offset by what we can get for Mike Williamson, Dan Gosling, Romain Amalfitano and Gabby Obertan.

And some of our players may also be leaving this summer, that we could get good money for.

What do you think?

Yeah seeing the situation we are in i would say that would be a pretty decent up people to grab if we could only get them. But seeing i would rather get bono instead of andy(SORRY andy) but i feel bono are alittle more dangerous in front of the cage.

Anyhow ed, i think you should give the honour harper deserves! I mean he is what we crave, stability. Well maybe his performance hasnt always been stable but he guy has been here for 20 years wich are amazing. And im glad he got the chance even if it was by force. To do the last home game for us. Think maybe we should hire him to be a goal keeper coach? Any thoughts?

moyes was on 7 million a year at everton, why? ( not expecting an answer)
but in europe, i think you can find a good manager for less than pardew is getting right now,
and be more of a manager than pardew will ever be

Benteke is so good . He is young yet very mature in his play.

Hernandez from Man U might have his price..might be available?

Cisse seems isolated and easily watched and marked out of tight situations, .Our play revolves around getting the ball to him, all that graft and then a no hope ball to him were he is marked tightly and lucky to get a sniff is not the way to play.

Benteke would give you a good 15 goals as per

“so whats your excuse for the begining of the season?”
Lack of investment in the summer, plain and simple. If you look at the team and bench from the Chelsea game at home after we signed the players in January it is much stronger and it’s missing Tiote and Benny. If we had had this in the summer we wouldn’t be in this position imo.And before you respond saying we were still rubbish after we signed the players i think it’s because we put these players in the team because we were desperate and we had to,it worked, just, but we had to pay the price,ie Sunderland and Liverpool. These players are going to be great additions to the squad when they can speak English and have a have a full pre-season.If you look at the league table without considering all the facts you could say he deserves the boot,so if Ashley doesn’t sack him are the Anti-Pardew fans prepared to admit that he,MA,is admitting it was mostly his fault for not adding to the squad in the summer?,i think he already has judging by the activity in January.

from your previous reply to catch in the last post

You said start of season was down to lack of investment. I agree it stopped us kicking on and will have knocked a bit of the buzz off finishing fifth.

Do you still think that during the first 3/4 months we gave a good showing of ourselves? I think during that time, we still have cabaye, ben arfa for most of it and we struggled?

do you think we should have done more? or were you happy with the club up til around nov/dec?

If Colo and Williamson went id look at getting Sakho, Tompkins and Alderwield in.

Of the unwashed go down a cheeky bid for Johnson?

Andy and Pea as fwd options.

    you talk utter crap mate

you dont need new players to play football,

new players dont make you better, the manager still has to pick them and play them,

so your saying it had nothing todo with cisse being played out of position?
it had nothing todo with playing 3 sometimes 4 DMC at home against team we all new would struggle,

his squad was big enough to field 9 changes in the league sections of the EL games, 9 CHANGES, and there where winning games,

you need to get a grip , go and check facts before you onpen your mouth

Pardew has lost too much credibility and respect now from so many fans that to make more allowances and continually give him the benefit of the doubt is going to be very difficult.

If he does manage to blag his way into staying next season , he is going be on trial from the first game and judged a lot less leniently.

To have niggling doubts about him will not help people get behind the team in a commited way.

Huge praise to Alan Pardew for Sundays result.

Showed his managerial class by managing to keep the lads focused on what has to have been one of the most nerve racking, tense games of football they’ve ever had to play in.

Many managers crack under that pressure he did not.

The team selection was met with thousands of groans. “Why wont he drop Jonas ffs” “williamson at cb, is he mental!” Two players who played out of their skin, arguably not the best technically but fighters and never stopped running and that’s what you need in a game like that.

Spot on Pardew. Thank you for rescuing our club.

Catchy…Just because I didn’t think we were going places under Hoots, doesn’t mean i was unhappy with him at all. He did excellent at getting us out of the championship and did fairly well to have us mid-table when everyone and their mother had us down as relegation fodder.

Can’t really comment anymore on that topic anymore, as it would be theoretical.

No one is English football warrants the amount they get paid 🙂

discrepancia…I see. If there was such an issue with players being unhappy with Pardew and his tactics I would certainly expect that to have filtered up to Ashley one way or another. If it was just one player probably not.

The only thing I trust Pardew to do, is truss up our players with his rigid, apprehension inducing ‘philosophy’ – wouldn’t know the meaning of the word if it cracked him between the eyes – reckon he only reads 1001 Football Cliches (there’s probably a book out there of similar description) and Mr Men, oh, perhaps guff like How To Win Friends and Influence People, too, the smarmy twerp.

It’s been like Spacejam this season – all our skilled, technical players look like they’ve been bodysnatched by goons. However it’s just down to Pardew, his collection of miserly excuses, reserved for such inept managers, demanding those players comply with his defensive football and ‘putting a shift in’ (meaning run around like a blue arse fly); it negates their attacking prowess, leeching energy, is incongruous with their instincts and the way many of them have been nurtured and taught football, this creates hesitation, second-guessing and disjointed rubbish, which is then compounded by a gradual decline in confidence and the tension you can observe in our players on matchday, resulting in Pardew prescribing more ‘battling qualities and passion’ which in reality means us retreating further into our shells – a vicious circle.

For the above reasons it doesn’t matter ho we sign, if the insipid, irksome idiot stays.

What’s the point in spending lots on new players if Pardew doesn’t play them in their best positions. He seems to have a knack of supressing flair, talent and motivation and that just leads to failure.

Let’s look at Rafa, a proven coach who’s said he wants a job in England, a project to build a successful club in 2-3 years. Then when we’re up among the elite, go for stability. Lay solid foundations for success but looking at Pardew’s cv, it’s not exactly oozing success is it. Time for a change methinks.

Cisse has had a poor season by his standards, BUT he still has what 13 goals? And he’s had 8 goals inncorrectly ruled out. Meaning he could / should have 21 goals, a good season by any striker’s measure. Also he’s missed a serious ammount of tap ins and hit the wordwork a lot (three times v benfica). He has been poor granted, but he could still easily have got 25, 30 goals this season./

And that is being the most under utilized, isolated striker in the premier league. Fact.
Also because of percy parsnip he spent the first half of the season as a right midfielder to accomodate Ba.

A full season up front, poaching, with a manager that fills him with confidence and belief, in a team that plays attractive, passing, chance creating football. No question Cisse scores by the bucket load.
When I heard we signed Cisse I almost passed out.

Look at his record, this season is the exception. Quite the opposite to Pardew, last year was his exception.

Of course i wasn’t happy,my previous post suggests my opinion for that form.If your in that team from last season, excited about finishing 5th thinking your going to push on and you sign 1 player in the summer, your hardly going to be going into the season brimming with confidence, all that hard work last season for nothing, not to mention the mental aspect of questioning the clubs ambition.Every fan knows we didn’t progress in the summer and we’re asking Pardew to do it again with the same over-achieving team from the season before.I wouldn’t know about the team sheets early in the season,i seem to think we had a rough time from the start but i’ll have to have a look.Wasn’t Benny injured pre-season?
