ESPN is reporting that Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy has been arrested today on suspicion of rape, along with two other unidentified men.
Loic Remy – in French colors
The QPR club will not comment on the charge,s but Metropolitan police have today confirmed that three men, aged 26, 23 and 22, were arrested at an address in Fulham on suspicion of rape.
The police have not publicly identified who the suspects are – and QPR issued this short statement:
“The club is aware of the allegations regarding Loic Remy, but due to police investigations is unable to comment.”
A 34-year-old woman says she was raped by three men on May 7th – a week yesterday.
Loic Remy is a French International striker who at the last minute decided to join bottom club QPR in January instead of Newcastle, whom he had agreed to join earlier in the week he surprisingly ended up signing for QPR – because they offered ridiculously high wages.
QPR were then bottom of the league – and they are still rock bottom of the Premier League, and have been relegated to the Championship.
Newcastle are currently in 13th position having beaten QPR on Sunday by a score of 2-1, and they did the double over QPR, having previously beaten the London club 1-0 at St. James’ Park.
In the game last Sunday Remy scored QPR’s first goal in five games, with a penalty in the 11th minute.
Since he will now leave QPR in the summer – how’s that for loyalty – the 26 year-old Frenchman has said he would like to join Arsenal – who Newcastle play in their final game of the season on Sunday.
Comments welcome.
Note – I’ve been told there’s going to be a minute’s applause for Steve Harper in the 37th minute of the game on Sunday – that’s his number – and it’s in appreciation of Steve’s 20 years at the club and all he’s done for Newcastle – we should be 2-0 up by then too – please pass this on to those attending the game on Sunday.

Comment #41Watching the Benfica v Chelsea game, I wouldn’t mind Benfica’s manager. They’re playing really attractive, attacking, incisive football. Don’t get to see that much as a toon fan.
Read an interview with Rafa Benitez in the Express today where he was quoted (about where his future lay) that he would choose between a team ready to challenge for trophies straight away or an ‘interesting project.’……… would have been getting excited if I didn’t have a strong feeling that Pardew is going to hoodwink Ashley into keeping his job.
