Alan Pardew Hints At Possible Coloccini Stay

Alan Pardew held his press conference this afternoon,  and he  was asked about Steve Harper and Fab Coloccini – possibly playing their last games  for the club on Sunday.

fab coloccini and alan pardew

Newcastle captain and manager – together for next season?

Sunday will be Steve Harper’s last game for Newcastle after 20 years at the club, and Alan Pardew said he had worked with Steve for two and a half years now,  and had always found him to be a top class professional.

And then Alan was asked if it could also be Coloccini’s last game, and Pardew said it was clear in these last two games just how important Fab was to the Newcastle side, and when he’s in the side the stats show that Newcastle do a lot better than when he’s not playing.

This is what Alan said when asked whether it could be an emotional game for the Newcastle captain on Sunday:

“It could be emotional – I mean the importance to him and the team,  you only have to look at the stats when he plays and  they are considerably better,  and we’ve really missed him until that point when he returned.”

“And getting over the line has been a big part of Coloccini in my opinion.” “My hope is he stays at his fantastic club,  and that our fans will give him that message on Sunday that we very much want him to stay, and I think there is an opportunity of that.”

We don’t know if Alan knows something that we don’t about Colo – but it will be important that the fans at the game on Sunday let Colo know he’s loved at the club.

And  it would be a massive positive if Newcastle can get Fabricio Coloccini to stay for the next three years and see out his contract.

Coloccini is and has been a massive player for Newcastle United.

Pardumb mouth has run away from him again. I dont think he realises blogs like this one latch on to everything he says and turn it into a headline. If he did he’d probably be more careful with his utterances. Colocinni had a farewell party at his house this week. Pics are all over the internet. Face it Come the summer, he;s a GONER!

Could of been pardews leaving party (players only),
Or just a party for staying up showing everyone theres no trouble amongst players.

Pardew doesn’t have to worry about our little blog after he came out and openly critisied both Ashley and Llambias during one of his ill-informed rants that was nothing more than a vein attempt to divert the blame for this shocking season away from himself

Pardew is a kind like Pele… becomes the opposite of what he says… especially in the post game interviews.

I love that you put so much of your own time into keeping us true supporters updated.

The comments of late however see to have turned into a management knocking session, and aren’t worth reading.

What happened to the contributors that provided educated comments about the team – have they been scared off by the doom & gloomers (you all know who you are…). An opinion is one thing, sounding like a scratched record something I’d rather not endure.

Ed, I like I’m sure you, have gone through these sort of times on a number of occasions throughout the years but am proud to say I’ve always stood behind the club through thick & thin.

Let the fair-weather supporters show their true colors and turn in their season tickets – I’m sure they’ll be back when the sun shines.

(and yes, I expect flak from many out there – like I care…..)

could it be that the contributors that provided educated comments about the team have realised that pardew is not the man for the job , and have in fact become the doom and gloomers themselves ??

repost toon kk no we shoudent get used to pardew being manager next season there even if MA wants to keep him he got rid of hughton for doing nothink wrong so why should 80-90 percent of nufc have to put up with it when we pay and buy mechandice . I SAY HIT MA WHERE IT HURTS IF HES NOT WILLING TO SACK HIM or if your happy with boring football week in week out carry on feeding the beast nufc destiny is down to the fans………

donkey @16 : “nufc destiny is with the fans” – how can this possibly be true or anywhere near it when nufc destiny has been rescued from bankrupcy by an interest-free loan of around £150 million. Don’t you think whoever provided this interest-free loan has somewhat of a say in nufc destiny?

of course he has a say but the fans have a say aswell i dont hate ma think he has done a lot of good things for the club. but just thinks its criminal that hughton gets sacked and pardew gets kept on because hes freinds with them both. im realistic with nufc i dont expect us to go out and pay silly money for players and stuff but i do want some sort of entertainment from how we play

For all the hoof ball surmisers we were actually 1 long ball pass behind man u last year. Admittedly more long balls this year but key injuries to cabaye and hba may account for less play on the ground ?

If i m honest to be fair we wasnt a fret this season.

We need more experienced PL players like AC and Peter Crouch to get our passing game going on the front foot .

All the injuries and Europe have made me play the cautious defensive system with players out of position looking bewildered and uncomfortable.

But trust me thats not normal for my teams I m a winner ask the Charlton , West Ham and Reading fans.

Now we re over the line we might beat Arsenal and then if we get some big strong lads over the line who put a good shift in next season we ll be a fret trust me.

Odds on SkyBet for Benitez have came in from 8/1 to 6/1 in the last half an hour. SkyBet is also on taking maximum bets of £30 on it.

Means lots of money is going on him.

Ashley in training ground today, means he has already fired Pardew. Why else would he come visit before the end of the season?

I think (and hope) Pardew will be gone at the end of the season and I picked up on what he said a few weeks ago saying his job may not be safe, as if to set us up so we wouldn’t be as shocked. Benitez looking good IMO.

I’m no conspiracy theorist but a few things point to a new manager coming in.

Pardew said a few weeks back his job wasn’t safe as if to soften the blow if he was sacked

Cancels a radio phone in for no apparent reason.

Ashley flies in to Newcastle on the day of the canceled interview.

Benitez odds change in favour of NUFC and has said he wants to stay in England.

Far fetched I know but I really hope Pardew will be gone after the Arsenal game. Then Benitez can have a full pre season, hopefully get £20 million to spend and get us challenging Everton & Liverpool for 5th next season.

    On Young Players.

Are we fighting hard for the top young players.
(are we buying what Arsenal/ Man Utd is buying?)

Any tom, dick or harry can buy young players.
(Be clear, do be deceived by buying “youth policy”)

Do fans see Newcastle Utd as a mid-table club (Top 8-10)
or do we foresee ourselves to challenge top 4 in another 5 to 10 years time ?? (Some fan might not even be around anymore to watch us win Any trophies, thats sad)

    With this policy.
Only by challenging top end club for top end youth, then will we be able to successfully bear fruits with this kind of policy.

Most of the time. we will swim around mid-table and challenge Stoke, Soton, maybe Hull, Cardiff, Sunderland and etc. (Thats really not what we want to see after 10 years if we are still around)
