Newcastle Given £1M Win Incentive Tomorrow

Mike Ashley did this two years ago, before our last game against West Brom, and he’s doing it again for our last game against Arsenal on Sunday.

Mike Ashley – offers £1M in bonuses

Mike is offering £1M in bonuses to the non-playing staff, if Newcastle can get a win on Sunday, and of course two years ago we were 3-0 up at home to West Brom and then amazingly let in three goals in the last 30 minutes – and drew 3-3 – and Mike Ashley was not a happy man.

A win would have given us 9th place but a draw dropped us to 12th place, and below Sunderland in the league. 🙁

But with around £800K for each place climbed in the league table, it’s a decent bet by the Newcastle owner, and it’s good that the non-playing staff will get the bonuses – the playing staff get quite enough money as it is.

A win by Arsenal will guarantee them a top four place for the 17th time running, since Arsene Wenger became the manager – and that’s some record – and some fans want Arsene fired?

But a Newcastle win coupled with a Tottenham home win against Sunderland, will see Arsenal in 5th place and out of the Champion League positions.

And a win could get Newcastle very close to 10th place and maybe finish in the top ten after such a poor season compared to last season.

And a win would be a great finish for Newcastle – two wins in a row.

Some people saying its dodgy but if true its very similar to his sports direct business where the employees have been getting massive bonuses. However would much rather, after such an abject season that £1 million was being spent on Pardew’s payoff…

Why couldn’t we have seen breaking news ‘Mike Ashley decides to pay asking price for France Euro star Mathieu Debuchy to help push rivals Spurs for fourth place”.

If we win and the money goes to the pie sellers and cleaners and pedantic security staff rather than to a target player i am going to be so franced off

    Tax fiddle??

Tbh after the season we’ve been served up the money shouldn’t be going on club staff, should be the players bonuses going back to season ticket holders!

Don’t agree with that mate , my mate used to be a steward for Southampton at st. Mary’s and they used to get a pretty decent bonus at the end of the season
The difference being most owners don’t feel the need to openly advertise it
For me it’s a bit of an empty gesture, there paid to do a job just like every other person who works for a living really don’t see why a result at arsenal should effect whether they get a bonus or not, every time I’ve visited SJP the staff have been nothing but professional so why have a lottery that decides there bonus?
    Cheap crass publicity stunt

I wouldn’t get me hopes up if I was one of the staff to be honest. Arsenal are capable of putting another 7 past us. Walcott has a great record against us and he always makes coloccini sweat. Collo likes to play a high line and arsenal like to get in behind. No messing I think it could be another embarrassing day but hopefully the last under Pardew.

As it turned out a ticket never turned up, but my mate who gets a couple of tickets in the box now and then offered me the spare if it came up, I turned it down as I have a ticket with two pals in the East stand and want to get vocal tomorrow.

Its not a “cheap” publicity stunt though. A million quids a canny whack and a lot more than Southampton are dishing out ill wager. Dont see the problem with positive publicity for nufc or sports direct. Dont let hatred blind you. I have no problem with this and can you guys honesty say you would if it was your boss dipping into his big pockets for you? That kind of money wouldnt motivate the players but if they are the the good guys we are led to believe, the chance to make a big difference to the lives of those workers should motivate them. Good call i reckon. Dont see any negatives.

How many non playing staff are there and how is it divied, I wonder.

Could be a healthy wedge, for bar staff etc. Even so, does seem a bit opportunistic, but hey, if it encourages a win and helps us climb the ladder as well as helping with the finances of those who really need it, then the end would perhaps justify the means.

But why must it all ride on one game?

Then again, maybe I’m being picky. You might have guessed that as a rule, I don’t entirely trust our owners’ motives

How about every player plus Pardew paying 20,000 to a local charity for every goal scored against them in the Tyne-Wear Derby ! At home and away?

This is pure folly ! Arsenal are going to be up for this game, their CL place is at stake here, and depending on the score in The Spuds match will depend on who goes into the CL next year! If Ashley is a Spuds fan why does,nt he just Bog off back south and buy Tottenham?

I can see us maybe, scraping a draw if the same team plays who did us proud in that second half at home to Benfica !
But, if the same tactics are employed that we have had for the second half of this season, then that just aint gonna happen?

Arsenal are not going to be beaten easily !
Also compare the hype in the Media and all the crap being brought out in the Media about Pardew and his pre-match preparations and the silence around Wenger and around the Gooners !

We are tagged as the underdogs and i prefer that but, trying to bribe the players like this to attempt them to win is wrong?

Can it be possible that Fat Ash is trying to motivate the players to actually go out and win?

I always thought that it was the trainers ( Pardew,s ) job to motivate the players to Win ?

If we get beat the players should donate their wages to the RVI/Sir Bobby Robson Trust or some charity, that would be far more productive.

If we beat Arsenal & finish higher in the league that means more prize money which he will use to pay the bonus thence not cost Ashley any of his own money.
