Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has probably performed the best of any of our new arrivals, as the 23 year-old is quickly getting used to the English Premier League.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa – played well for Newcastle
Mapou, as we’ve said before, is a leader both on and off the field, and he’s been one of our best players in the last couple of crunch games, when the defense tightened up on the return of Fabricio Coloccini, and only conceded one goal in the games at West Ham and QPR for a massive 4 points.
The defender was still speaking through an interpreter, when he had this to say in the Telegraph today:
“Each manager has his own way of doing things, and we’ve come in and bought into that philosophy here to ensure we come back stronger next season. We now know what to expect.”
Mapou needs to learn English over the summer months, but he has already proven his versatility at Newcastle, and he’s played in every position across the back four, and currently is starting at left back.
For the record Mapou has now played 19 times for Newcastle, and he’s looked a very good player.
Remember that all five players who arrived in January will be a lot better next season, and we remain positive that we can do very well in the Premier League next term.
